We decided to (not cool) ditch our ride home on the off chance we might meet Pantera. We waited about 30 minutes and they all came out. Super cool dudes, all. Talked to Phil about lyrics from FBD, he was great. Signed our posters and my ball cap.

Jesus fack this is good. Thank you thank you thank you for posting. This is prime peak angry peaking peaking Phil and Pantera overall. One of the few I haven't seen... amazing!!!!!
Our rhythm guitarrist met them at a head shop Berlin Kurfürstendamm like in 1995/6... they were just seeking to buy a bong there. They all were super chill and talked to my homie who was super drunk and stoned and like 17 y/o... they never ditched anyone.

This was the last year Phil was really on point in Pantera, he was a mess after this going into Trendkill, he made a slight comeback vocally during the Reinventing the Steel era but fell off again, but he sounds excellent here
Truly yes. He also sounds good in proof 101 live. But this was really before the full destruction of his voice, and he could do the classic old shit as well as dabbling into the savage heavier stuff. Not sustainable, but here, straight up epic in every single way. No one has ever done vocals like this.
