Nice trekking to the castle of Chios! Very interesting for anyone who wants to go to Chios to see them. like me. I'll go this summer. But the houses you say, are not Ottoman, are Greek architecture 11:13 . You can see the same house in Ioannina in Epirus and in the Greek quarter of Constantinople. Greeks stayed in these houses or the Turks encouraged them to stay. The Ottomans were nomads, they had no architecture, they all learned from the Greek Byzantines
. and had Greek masters and workers.Friend. in Greece you can speak loud, let others hear you. You speak clearly and have a good automatic translation.
However the video is unique and great, as one would go on to explore it on their own, with great information!

Hi and thank you for watching my videos and for your comments. It is, in general, accepted that such architecture is 'Ottoman' in style even though realistically it is Byzantine..

At 12:29 he actually shows the outside of a ruin restaurant. Also at 13:20 he shows some large openings/holes in the wall of the fortress, those holes lead to some internal man-made tunnels that goes really far into the land; there is a strange things in there, dead cats, sleeping bags, rats, trash. Also one of the tunnels leads up to the top of the fortress. And the it's just bang-next door to a refugee camp (I was there around 2016, so it might not be any refugees there anymore.

Thank you for your comments. The large opening you saw at 13:20 was too dangerous to enter due to the amount of garbage everywhere.. the refugees (when this was filmed) were present..

I wonder how many years it took them to build those walls and towers they are amazing structures.

Great video! I visited this castle in 2019. When I was outside of the Turkish baths that same dog was barking at me too lol
How did you get up on top of the walls? I don't remember seeing any stairs...

Beautiful old structures. If they would remove the vegetation from the walls and towers, they would definitely hold up better.

Chios is a land of Saints and martyrs. Wherever you go. is watered with blood.
See the painting Eugène Delacroix, reed about Anavatos Chios.
