An interesting collection of bells according to dove. The frame installed 1951 and must have been a 6 with two pits left for augmentation to a 10 The original 5 of the 6 are old bells and Whitechapel cast a tenor plus added the extra 2 in 1988 Interesting to know where the original 5 came from
@@RingerThomas thanks for letting me know. It would be good if Dove did history on bells and towers etc. For instance others has been bells at York Minster for hundreds of years but was was there before the current peal of 12 plus 2 extra bells for a light 8 and 10??
@@Steven_Rowe The old trebles are now in St Johns Windsor. The bells here have lots of history and also the tenor is the bell that makes the ring. It’s just that the trebles are a little weak. I enjoy ringing these bells as they are one of my local towers as with St Mary’s and Richmond.
bells 1 and 2 are whitechapel 8 and 10 are mears and stainbank there is also st mary a ground floor ring of 8 cast by diffrent founders the tenor from taylor
Lovely bells and a great video. It's so good to see the bells! Thank you for sharing the video. It was a good outing.

They weren’t a six. They were a ten but with the 8th and tenor recast in 1951 and the two trebles replaced in 1988.

Could you do Emmanuel Church in Southport on Emmanuel Road.
Of course. I don’t know when that will be as I’m based in Gloucestershire, so it’s a bit of a treck. I will one day definitely 👍
@@JamesJoynson interesting the clappers on the treble 2nd and 3 are grey the rest are red
They sound like hythe in Kent a little bit!
