This piece is so simple yet so richly and masterfully textured. It PERFECTLY captures the vibe of a wet grey day, which I absolutely love. Another stroke of genius from Devin!

this song is the epitome of atmosphere... how was this left off the album this is arguably one of the best songs on the album and it didn't make it. But blackberry did?
Blackberry seemed to fit the mood of the album more appropriately in my opinion.
"Blackberry" has really, really grown on me, in the same way that "Texada" did.

It's not atmosphere at all, but visual... Atmosphere is the simplest thing, anyone can copy it, just use the right keys or tunings and don't mess up, but "moulding" an "image" is a really tricky thing. It's also related to the phenomenon of "synesthesia" and Devin Townsend is definitely gifted in that department without even trying, that is, as a natural part of his style and personaltiy.
