Dude, such a polished video and an awesome project! Your command of the tools are impressive, and the overall vision for this thing is amazing. How dare you continue to use the jigsaw for hole cutting though 😂 I expect to see more helmet quick changes in part 2. The world is always a better place when my friend Ron releases content 😊 Thanks for an awesome video bro 😊
'pillaging in the garbage' contributed significantly to the birth of my current project. The giant 'skip' and the recycle bins at my workplace were indispensible... Ever grateful for other people's trash 😄. Glad for the 'tool tips' you give and assembly techniques you explain throughout the video by the way; I don't have workshop experience but use handtools; those tips were certainly eye openers and will come in handy I'm sure.
I've been out of the arcade scene for quite a while - yet YT obviously remembered and suggested this to me. I have an old Namco Excellena 2 Candy cab that I stripped, refurbished and repainted a decade ago and running MAME on an old PC. The only issue is that it still has the CRT monitor in it - it works, but one day I'm going to have to work out how to put an LCD in it. Might build a brand new frame out of plywood, much like you have done, that holds the LCD in place, rather than try and modify the plastic frame.
Great looking build. I just starting to get a few toys for my game room. That would be a nice build and I have a wood shop. My game room is up stairs and two walls have a vaulted ceiling so stand up space in at a premium.
Really enjoyed this Ron! Looks like you’ve been working on the shop, it looks great! What a machine you are making man, all those bevels!! Outstanding. (I don’t envy all the MDF dust you had to deal with, been there man, so many times!)
I was looking to start building in a 2nd arcade cabinet but wanted a different look, I think you have given me the inspiration I need for my arcade cabinet shape
The reason for 8 buttoned is mainly for cones games. The extra buttons can be configured for something like L1, R1 and R1, R2 depending on which console you're emulating.
Hi CGR, Just bought your DIY-plans. I live in Sweden, here we use metric system. You don’t happen to have the plans in mm? I’m not very sure how to convert inches to mm. I know that you multiply by 25,4 to get mm. But how do i multiply 19 7/8” for example? And for instance 29” in mm = 736,6mm. Very odd measure in mm. I know there’s converters online, but I’m not really sure how to enter 19 7/8” for example. Sorry I’m a bit slow.
@@CGRTist Awesome. Thanks. I’ll grab the CNC plans soon. I work at a cabinet shop and will get a buddy in drafting to help modify it and run it on our CNC machines. Debating using black melamine MDF, but not sure yet. Looking forward to part 2.
Climb cuts on the router table, followed immediately by unsupported material on the fence side of the table saw? Hope your health insurance is comprehensive! Neat project, though!
I stumbled across your video and within the first 30 seconds you had yourself a new subscriber. BTW, that's one nice workshop you have!
That's awesome, man! Thank you!!
Welcome back! You were missed.
Thank you!
Welcome back Ron! Always a fun time on your videos. You’re really getting into these cabinets, you make it look so easy. Great job my friend!
Thanks, W3! I do enjoy making these!

Imagine throwing away a perfectly good piano hinge. Thanks for plans, looks awesome :)
Right?! It was a bed headboard with two doors. I had to get it! LOL
This is the start of an epic game cabinet.
Thank you! I'm sanding and priming the cabinet now

Great to see you back again.
Hopefully you get a chance to work on a few more projects in 2024.
Thank you! Oh yeah, I have a some cool ideas coming soon!
Nicely done! The viewlix was always a cabinet I wanted to build--and I appreciated your helmet easter eggs :)
Haha! Gotta have some eye-candy in there at times!

Oh man, Good luck! It's cool that the CRT is still functional!
I love a Vewlix build! Really excited to follow this one!
Thank you! I've started on part II this week.
Great looking build. I just starting to get a few toys for my game room. That would be a nice build and I have a wood shop. My game room is up stairs and two walls have a vaulted ceiling so stand up space in at a premium.
I'd love to see your gamer space some time!

Thank you! Yeah, I tried to get a little more organized. Now I have to bevel EVERYTHING. And yes, SO much MDF dust. :-(
Great build, I can't wait to see what other wonderful creations you come up with this year!
Thank you! I have some ideas that are begging to get out of my head!
Fantastic build I can’t wait to play the finished product
Right?! Me too, buddy!
That is turning out fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this!
Thank you! I can't wait to finish it!
I was looking to start building in a 2nd arcade cabinet but wanted a different look, I think you have given me the inspiration I need for my arcade cabinet shape
Awesome, you'll have to show me what you come up with!

Nice to see you back Ron! Love it!
Thank you!
Love it - planning to build my own Viewlix styled cabinet. Thank you
Thank you! You'll have to show me what you come up with! Good Luck!
I'm glad that you are back. Any word on making the theater sign outside by the motorized door, and replace the one from Hobby Lobby.
Thank you! Yep, I'm designing that sign very soon!
Awesome Video! I'm super excited to have my very own arcade cabinet!
Thank you! Hurry and build it!
Looks pretty cool man
Thank you!
Hey... That Felt Slightly Nice LOL.
Well done Sir! Nice Build.
Man, it did! LOL, Thanks!
Hermoso trabajo, esperando la segunda parte con ansias.
Muchas gracias, me alegro que hayas disfrutado la construcción.
Love this design.
Thanks, yeah, I really like it as well!
Great content! 🤘🏻
Appreciate it! Thanks!
i know i have said this before lol
but again its good to have you back 😊
Appreciate it, Thanks!
i purchased the plans but i dont have a cnc could you include measurments with the files for the pieces so i can measure out and cut myself
There are two plans available. CNC and non-CNC with all the measurements.
i have a small question pls, why some arcade consoles have 6 action buttons and other some have 8 ? which game we can play with 8 buttons ?
The reason for 8 buttoned is mainly for cones games. The extra buttons can be configured for something like L1, R1 and R1, R2 depending on which console you're emulating.

Sorry I’m a bit slow.
Send me a message on Instagram. We'll work on a metric version
by any chance do you sell pre cut kits???????? bought plans but cant find anybody to build
I thought about making pre-cut kits, but shipping would be too costly.
What's the footprint of the cabinet? Is it easy to modify for specific hardware/buttons/joysticks/tv?
Yes, it's super easy to modify the plans to your liking. The footprint is 32" x 25".

Nice ❤❤
Thanks 🤗
You need to start wearing eye protection when your working in the shop.
You are absolutely right! I will!

Neat project, though!
Yeah I've changed my method to be MUCH safer.
I see a helmet there.. 😂
Hehehe...
if you sell this as a flatpack i will buy
I have thought about making a flat-pack available
@@CGRTist take my $$$$
100% hopefully can get it to the UK 😂🙏🏻
