I didn’t either until I actually tried it. Then I realized you can adjust it to suit your needs once your hair is truly hydrated. I can totally tell the difference now whereas before I thought I could but now I realize I couldn’t. 😅
Thank you Luv! 🥰 Yes, I used the conditioner from Trader Joe’s. I also tried their Tea Tree conditioner and it felt great. However, that’s provided you like that cooling and tingling feeling on your scalp. 😅
Hey Shelly, so am I to understand you rinse it everyday and add more conditioner, then a leave in and then styler. Wait you leave the conditioner in for 3 minutes then apply the rest. It looks amazing. I didn’t even want you to do it again. Can you just sit under dyer within diffusing it?
Hi Luv! 💖 Yes, exactly however, I have been playing around with how often I’m resetting my hair. Also, I have been playing around with how I dry it. Normally I sit underneath the hooded dryer for about 15 minutes then diffuse for a couple minutes. The last set I did, I air dried and my hair looked great! Drying it is the most consuming part of the method for me. So I’m trying to figure out how I can cut it down to around 5 to 8 minutes each time I redo it. 🥰
Still watching but Shelly your hair is truly looking amazing!!! 😻… I’m so glad you’re working with someone who is getting you together! All done! And yeah the results are chefs kiss. Love it 😍
Me too Sis and thank you so very much! 🥰 I’m so excited for us and this journey we are on together! I can’t wait to see where our hair is this time next year. 😍🙏🏽
Any ladies using different products or conditioner that's not by AD. I never stopped deep conditioning my hair either or leave ins. But I sometimes use a purchased co-wash. I am curious how many are getting good results with a regular wash out conditioner
Have a question from a coarse, tight coily/curly girl. Is this method really a thing for working girls? Already up at 5am to commute to work. How is this really sustainable everyday for the working masses?!😮
Awesome question. I honestly believe it is doable because the more you do it the quicker and quicker you can do it. Not sure what time you get home but Anthony Dickey suggest doing it during a time that works best for your lifestyle even if it’s at night. I personally have tweaked everything and no longer set my hair daily. 💖
I'll be honest, I thought your hair looked good at the intro and I would've been so reluctant to wet a good 'do. But oh my word! The 2nd cowash results are so *fab-u-lous* , I had to press pause and write this comment! 😄 Thanks for sharing your hair-care journey.
Aww thank you so very much beautiful! 🥰 I ain’t gonna lie, I didn’t NOT want to reset her at all that day! 😆 However, I’m so glad that I did and got to experience how much better my hair looked and felt. 😍 Thank you for sharing in my journey with me and being along for the ride Sis! 💖💯
He suggest you use a non sudsing shampoo. He recently did a video regarding his (I linked it in the description) no sudsing shampoo and said it cleans the hair. He said it’s different than a sudsing shampoo but has cleansing agents in it that get the scalp and hair clean. It just doesn’t strip the hair like sudsing shampoo can. That has also been my experience with using his product. Lastly, he recommends clarifying the hair every 2-3 months. Hope that helps and makes sense. I appreciate your input! 🥰💯
Your hair looks great. I been missing my natural hair, although i enjoyed my WNG break 😌 I'm taking my braids out and can't wait to start the Dickey method using Curlmix. My hair looked and felt much healthier using curlmix and Innersense products before my CIK sessions.
Since you have some looser curls 4a/3c you could probably get away with doing it every other day. He says people with 4b/4c should definitely do it everyday.
Yes that’s exactly what he suggest. I’ve been able to go way longer but I’ve also switched to my own method that includes leave in, Deep conditioner & shampoo etc. 💖
I’m still playing around with different shampoo’s to see what I like. So far I prefer more of a moisturizing shampoo because it leaves my hair feeling less stripped when I shampoo it. I’ll speak to exact brands when I do my updated routine video for y’all. With my new routine I’ve developed, I’m setting my hair 1-2 times per week. 💖
The *Curls* are singing 🗣️ (In my ShellyV voice……”She Cute, She Cute….She Cute) lol. So looking that beautiful where did you go to Party and show off the “Do” ?
Hygral fatigue happens when there’s an imbalance of protein and moisture in the hair. Also when the hair strand swells beyond its max it can cause moisture overload and blast open the hairs cuticle. When oil from conditioner is being deposited daily etc. and not stripped away from lathering shampoo’s, the oil deposited takes up space in the hair strand (that’s why some use coconut oil to pre poo with because it can penetrate into the cortex of the hair strand & take up space.) not allowing it to swell beyond its max. Not only should you not experience Hygral fatigue but your cuticle won’t get lifted and blown open to where you become high porosity like some other methods. Hope that helps shed some light on why it would be hard for that to happen and why I’m not worried about it occurring with this method. 💖

Your hair is beautiful! I learned about his method years ago. I just didn’t want to do my hair every 2 days. I’m thinking about cutting my hair and then it will be easier to do it every 2 days.
Yup I feel you Sis! 💖😅
So far I’ve been able to stretch my wng out to 3 days easily. When I reset it, it still looks and feels amazing!
So I say all that to say, I think you just would need to adjust it to suit your needs. Maybe consider trying before cutting your hair because you just might be shook at how easy it is to do. 🥰🤗
@@shelly.v.247 Thanks, I just might do that. I gotta find a new gel to use. I’m looking to transition from ICH & UFD. I’ll let you know if I try it before cutting my hair.
Hello Ms Shelly! Great videos , you and your hair are absolutely adorable!! Could you please tell me the name of your standing dryer? Im in desperate need of one, any recommendations welcomed. Have a wonderful day
Hi beautiful! I’m so sorry for my late response. Here’s the link to the hooded dryer I have. I honestly don’t use mine that much anymore but it’s a really good one.

Love it. I’m just not sure I could wash my hair daily. ❤
I didn’t either until I actually tried it. Then I realized you can adjust it to suit your needs once your hair is truly hydrated. I can totally tell the difference now whereas before I thought I could but now I realize I couldn’t. 😅
Sis, yes🎉🎉🎉 when my heat damage has expired, I'm jumping on that wagon
You got this Luv! Can’t wait for you to join the party! 🙌🏽😍🎉
Absolutely gorgeous ❤
Thank you Luv! 💖🤗
Hey Shelly hair is pretty and healthy 🥰
Thank you beautiful! 🥰😘
I would have to set 3-5min timers for myself lol i always lollygag when i wash/style my hair
😂
It look so good girl OMG
Aww thank you beautiful! 💖🥰🤗
Absolutely beautiful ~ shining and healthy ~ are you using the Trader Joe’s conditioner? Appreciate you!!!💕💕
Thank you Luv!
All I used were drug store conditioners and my hair loved it all!!! 😍
Thank you , I used any rinse out conditioners I had left. That was silicone and paraben free
Dollar store conditioners gave me good results
Beautiful 💪🏾
Thank you! 🥰
Curious. Anyone doing this with hard water? I’d like to try it but my city has hard water and that may be counterproductive with this method.
Do you use a filter or a hard water treatment periodically? I’d be curious too. 💖
Do you ever clarify?
Yes Luv I do but it just depends on what products I’ve been using in my hair and whether or not I feel I have any build up. 💖
Thank you for sharing in my journey with me and being along for the ride Sis! 💖💯
Oh and what shampoo are you using? Thanks for sharing 👛👛
Shampoo isn't used with the Anthony Dickey Method.
She said in the beginning of the video that she does wash her hair once a week.
No problem! I used the Hair Rules no suds shampoo. Trader Joe’s also has a no foaming shampoo. I have it too but I haven’t tried it. 🥰
@@Hizwife i totally forgot about part 1~
How do u take care of it at night
I’ve been using a bonnet. I also like to sleep directly on a silk/satin pillowcase but that’s when my hair is longer and I can pineapple it. 💖
Are you going to try Anthony’s products as well?
His products are so expensive 😢jmo
I would love to try all of his products but they are a tad pricey 😅 We shall see 💖
‼️💯
Your hair looks great. I been missing my natural hair, although i enjoyed my WNG break 😌
I'm taking my braids out and can't wait to start the Dickey method using Curlmix.
My hair looked and felt much healthier using curlmix and Innersense products before my CIK sessions.
Sis ain’t Nathan wrong with taking a break from our hair‼️💯
Eeeeekkkk I’m super excited to hear how it goes for you! Please keep us updated 🥰
@shelly.v.247 Thank you! Will do😊
Since you have some looser curls 4a/3c you could probably get away with doing it every other day. He says people with 4b/4c should definitely do it everyday.
Yes that’s exactly what he suggest. I’ve been able to go way longer but I’ve also switched to my own method that includes leave in, Deep conditioner & shampoo etc. 💖
@shelly.v.247 Which shampoo are you using now? Are you sticking every 2 days or every 3?
I’m still playing around with different shampoo’s to see what I like. So far I prefer more of a moisturizing shampoo because it leaves my hair feeling less stripped when I shampoo it. I’ll speak to exact brands when I do my updated routine video for y’all.
With my new routine I’ve developed, I’m setting my hair 1-2 times per week. 💖
The *Curls* are singing 🗣️
(In my ShellyV voice……”She Cute, She Cute….She Cute) lol.
So looking that beautiful where did you go to Party and show off the “Do” ?
Haha why did I start singing 🎵 it!👀🤣
Aww thank you and you are so sweet. 🥰🤗 Hehe I wish I went somewhere fun but I didn’t. lol 😆
Hi
☺️
This method sounds like it can lead to hydra fatigue. Best wishes on the journey.
I don't think this is meant to be done everyday long term, but imo it's probably a great way to infuse moisture quickly.
Wow, thanks for the detailed answer!
@@sparker7768 My pleasure Luv! 🥰
