Throughout all of my years of watching RUclips, I have NEVER commented on anyone's video. But your character and personality is so awesome I just had to let you know. Keep being authentic!
Wow, thank you so very much! 🥰This might be one of the best comments I’ve ever received! 🙌🏽So thank you again Sis and so glad you get my humor! Lol 👀🫣🤣
I started this and I must say I do feel a big difference in my hair. Its very soft and hangs better, with better movement. With the other method my hair stayed stiff for a few days, but never soft at the touch. I wash only 4 days straight out of the week, the days I'm not working. The 3 days I don’t wash, my hair is still soft and looks so good. I'm obsessed with shaking it!😅. I am using Sams big bottle conditioner for now and kinkycurly knot today leave in, with whatever curly gel I grab and add whatever mousse I want, because that's my business 😅.
Haha I love it and yassssss it sure is your business!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I’m loving how my hair is behaving and feeling. Not to mention, wearing my hair extra hard and crunchy is no longer my ministry. 🤣 Please keep us updated on his your hair is doing good, bad and in between! We NOSEY and wants to know! 😆💖🥰😘
I'm amazed that it only takes you about 30 minutes to shower and have your hair done! Hoping to get there soon. I see that consistency really matters here as it is easier to work through my hair the more often I wet and keep it conditioned. This mini series has been inspirational.
Seriously the longest part has been drying my hair after it’s set. The cowashing and product application is so quick and easy. Now that’s provided I’m doing it daily. When I push it out to 3 days I have to spend a little more time with detangling my hair. I also like to spend a little more time working in my conditioner since I skipped a few days. Lastly, if I know I’m going to push out my wash day, I’ll add a tad more styler and spend a few extra minutes smoothing it in so my holds up longer. I will tell you that since making all these little tweaks I feel I could easily go past 3 days but I don’t. Only because I want to ensure my hair stays hydrated and moisturized. This method has been a real game changer for my hair and I’m so happy to hear you’re getting a positive benefit from this series. 😍 Stay blessed Luv! ♥️🥰😘
@shelly.v.247 , You have really beautiful locks. I'm truly considering to try this method, but I am quite nervous. In the past I have dealt with moisture overload because of co-washing with just a moisturizing conditioner. I have low porosity hair and find my hair every now, and then, going over to the moisture overload side. I have to put protein in my hair from time to time to kick it back into shape. Would you recommend this method for me? And does Anthony Dickie offer an alternative option for woman who have low porosity hair?
I just love the way I can’t tell anymore what you put inside your wet hair. Your water rinsed hair, conditioned & styled hair are looking exactly the same! Definition and hang time on point. That’s what I call pampered so well, that it’s super max hydrated. The dry result speaking for itself! 😍
Aww thank you beautiful! 🥰I am loving how I’m able to capture my wet result when it’s dry. I didn’t know it was fully possible to do that. However, with this method, it allows me to do just that which has been mind blowing! 🤯 As always, thank you so very much for all of your love and support! 🤗 Lastly, congratulations on hitting 1K subbies! No one deserves it more‼️💖💯😘
Aww thank you beautiful! I’m really thrilled about what this method is doing for my and and the personalized tweaks I have made to it! So exciting!!! 🙌🏽😍🥳
Course the hair is fab again 🔥🔥!!!! Omg look at those armpits though😮😮😮😮😍😍😍😍 so smooth, clear and even toned!!!! Mine use to look like that, not sure what’s happening to them now😩😩!!!
Thank you so much Sis!🤗 My armpits have always looked how they do now. I did do laser hair removal years ago and need to do it again 🤣but that’s it. So idk it that did anything special or not. 🤷🏽♀️ 😅
Thank you so much for doing this series! This is what i was looking for! Somebody doing the process everyday and showing how you do it in the shower. This has been great!
Sasha is looking amazing! 😍 I never would have imagined that I would be wetting my hair almost daily and be out of the shower in under 30-45 minutes. But AD’s method is the truth! I’ve started air drying with a little diffusing at the end of the day if it’s still damp and it’s working well for me. Now I just need to find a replacement for my Trader Joe’s Nourish conditioner, which I loved but they discontinued. 😢 I’m loving my hair more and more everyday (as we all should!).
Omgoodness I’m lovin hearing about your experience! I would have told someone they were lying if they would have said I could do a beautiful wash and go in 30 minutes and that includes drying. It’s hard to wrap your head around it all! Lol 😅 I love your approach to drying your hair. I just air dried mine, and my hair turned out fantastic!. 😍 thank you so very much for sharing your experience, and I’m looking forward to hearing more about it! 🥰🤗
As I think back now, , I used to do this years ago. We called it co-washing. I did it every other day in warm months. I used to air dry. But once I perfected how to make my definition last longer, I stopped doing it.
Yup and that’s what I’m sort of starting to do. However the longest I’ll go is 3 days even though my hair still looks amazing. I want to ensure my hair continues to stay as hydrated as possible. With that being said, I’m staying flexible and finding what works best for my hair with using this method. 💖🥰
I just love this process and this process on your hair!!!! I will add because I saw someone comment about applying heat frequently that I use a heat protectant. I focus the heat at my roots and air dry the rest of it. Hopefully this limits or prevents any type of damage. Also accord to Anthony Dickey every apparatus of heat isn’t going to damage your hair. 🤷🏽♀️
Great tip Sis and thank you! 💖😁 I have started playing around with air drying and my hair is responding to it well. I’m also able to stretch my days out, so I don’t have to do it daily anymore. Once my hair became more hydrated, I noticed I could go longer in between resetting it. I’m so excited and about this method, and I’m glad we are all doing it together! 🥰🤗
@@shelly.v.247 please if you get a chance can you post a before and after picture. I saw someone mention seeing your hair pre Anthony Dickey and post. I’m so glad to have found your channel and be in community with you!!!! Live Long and Prosper 🖖 to our hair 😂
Yes, I absolutely can and will! I’ve actually been looking through all my pics because I want to give a very fair comparison of both. It’s definitely eye opening to say the least! 😅 I love following your journey too and most importantly being in the presence of genuine company‼️💖💯
Hey Shelly, I'm really loving watching you do this method. I started to do it a year or so but didn't follow through. I'm going to try it when my silk press gets old. I rarely do a silk press but I went on vacation and got something new. You're such a joy to watch. Thanks babe.
Aww thank you so very much beautiful!!! 🥰🤗 Girl I feel you on wanting something new at times and ain’t Nathan wrong with it either! 💯 I’m curious to hear what you think about it once you revisit it. I’ve made lots of tweaks to suit my hairs needs and my lifestyle and my hair seems to be loving it. Please keep us in the loop on any of your experiences with it and so on. Together we help each other! 🙌🏽🥰
I just binged part 2 and 3. Your hair looks fabulous! My plan for this week was to do twist outs but next week I'm headed over to Trader Joe's and getting that conditioner and I'm going to try this. I remember years ago I pretty much used to do this same strategy without the conditioner. And although my wash and goes weren't perfect I could maintain them for a week. But I think with the addition of the daily conditioner, the gel, and a mousse as a backup, this could work for me. Especially in the winter I'm looking for all kinds of ways to keep injecting moisture into my hair while keeping hairstyles nice-looking and simple.❤
Please let me know how it goes! My hair continues to get better each time I do it. I’ve never experienced my hair feel this good while being curly. It’s super hydrated and moisturized now! ♥️🙌🏽
Any concern with sitting under the dryer so frequently now that you’re doing this method? Does it promote a dryer scalp? Do you think your scalp health will diminish at all with continuing to add layers of conditioner, leave in, gel and mousse? Just questions I wonder about with this method.
Those are all extremely great questions and they are questions I’ve asked myself but I honestly don’t know. I feel like my scalp has improved since implementing this method. It’s less itchy. However I do worry about it getting dried out from the hooded dryer so I don’t use it on hot heat. I also just air dried and my hair looked great. So I’ve started to make some small adjustments to that part of the method. I feel like the products rinse off my scalp and hair fairly easily when I rinse with warm water to start the process. I also feel like my scalp is not getting any build up because I’ve scratched it then looked underneath my fingernails to see if there’s anything and there hasn’t been. 😆but idk for sure. I guess time will tell on that part. 🤷🏽♀️ So far so good. My hair and scalp have only improved since starting everything. Lastly, there are so many little tweaks I’m making and doing to suit my hairs needs that I’m more excited than anything. I think you just have to listen to your hair and move with flexibility. Keep what works and toss what doesn’t. 💖 Awesome question and thank you for asking it!!! 🥰🤗
Hey Shelly! Thanks for sharing. I havent followed this method in years. I thought you had to shampoo daily. But I see you just rinse your hair and apply conditioner. I'm glad you are happy with your results
Hey D! 🥰 With Dickey’s method you cowash more than anything and sprinkle in different types of shampoos. It’s definitely been a shift in my mindset but my hair seems to love it so far. I’m curious to see what the future holds with all of this. Thank you as always for all of your love and support D! It’s been truly appreciated! 💖💯😘
I love it!! Love how we are running back to Anthony Dickie method...I love his application (it's honestly how I apply my gels-never like the small sectioning trend) but doing it every day does not work for me.
Haha me too Sis! 🥰 And yeah I’m loving how fast I can’t apply my stylers and still walk away with great hair! I honestly think some of the other methods tried to borrow from his method but I’m just realizing it now. 👀🤣 Now that my hair is feeling and behaving an actually hydrated, I’ve been able to stretch my days out. I think the important takeaways to tweak the method or whatever you do to suit your lifestyle.💖
0:45 SHE CUTE SHE CUTE Your shower scene is basically twilight zone. I’m like… we’ve been here before 😂😂😂 3:12 💕Your hair looks soooo good! 4:49 are you noticing increased definition from your day 1 wash and go? 7:05 I’m curious to hear your overall review when you finish out your week!
Haha!!! 😂 Thank you so very much beautiful! 🥰 Yes, I’m definitely seeing more curl definition each time I cowash and reset it. It’s unbelievable really!!!! Thank you for following me on my journey! I feel so extremely grateful and blessed to have you here with me! ♥️💯🤗😘
😂This is pure De-lightful ❣️ Thank you 😊 for sharing such joyfulness 😎💝 I’m taking the time to go back and 👍 the prior videos (liked em just hadn’t done it 🙂) and ofcourse subscribe
I know I'm so late, but just getting to watching part 2 and 3 today. Your hair looks so good! She moisturized and cute! Happy that this method is working for you. I'm tempted to go back to it now but I think I might have to do every 2 or 3 days instead of daily idk. Anyways, just wanted to drop some hair love in ya comments. :)
Aww you’re sooooo dang sweet and thank you beautiful! 💖🥰 My suggestion would be depending on how dry you feel your hair is or not should dictate how you start out with it. With that said if your hair is very dry consider doing it daily for at least a few days. It probably won’t even take long for it to get it real hydrated. For me tweaking the method by using a leave in seems to have helped me retain even more hydration and moisture faster. Now I can skip days without an issue. However, I really think it’s due to all my personal tweaks I’ve made for myself. 🥰
@@shelly.v.247 That makes a lot of sense. My hair isn't super dry unless I wait a really long time inbetween washes/sets so I think I'll try this every 2 days to start and see if I can even go 3-4 days. And will definitely use a leave-in with it like you're doing and see how it goes. Thanks for the inspo and the suggestions!
Thank you Luv! 💖 I’m picking conditioners that have no silicone (that might change) great slip and are cost effective! You’re supposed to use as much conditioner as you have hair so I’m being very generous with mine and my hair seems to be getting better by the day! 🙌🏽
Your hair looks good all the time anyway but I think that it looks even better with this method. Looks so hydrated! Thinking about trying this… everyday though????😮
Thank you Sis! 💖 I’ve been playing around with it and I’ve noticed that once my hair got super hydrated I was able to start pushing it out longer. Even after 3 days it still looks great now but I reset it anyway because I want to keep my hair hydrated. 🥰
I have been co-washing it a few times per week. I’ve been trying to find my sweet spot in what works for me. However, I did start off by doing it daily.💖
I use KKNT leave in…then UFD gel. Last week I Wonder Curl gel as a topper…hair was so defined and soft and voluminous ❤ I may try Mos Def as a topper this week and see how it goes
Thank you so very much beautiful! Yes and no lol. 😂 So if I do it daily, I feel like I’m using less product such as the conditioner. If I wait longer than I tend to use a little more and it even takes a bit more time because I feel like my hair is a tad more tangled. As far as stylers go, it’s about the same amount each time. But I’ve gotten so good at setting my hair that I can easily push it out to day 3. TBT, I could go even longer because my hair still looks great but I try not to because I want to keep it as hydrated as I can. Hope that all makes sense? 😅 Thank you as always for all of your love and support over here and on Instagram. It hasn’t gone unnoticed Sis‼️🥰🤗💯😘
Once you're finished testing, do you think you'll keep the frequent resets or go back to once a week, or something in-between? (The sets look fabulous either way, and I hope this is giving your hair time to heal/grow out so you don't have to cut anything. 🤞🏼)
Thank you so very much Luv! 🥰 Yes, I’m already starting to play around with it and tweak it to fit my lifestyle and needs. Gone are the days of doing everything to some one else’s “T!” 👀🫣🤣
She cute and you’re cuter!!! Shelly could you please share what blush you wear and have on as well as your lippie , thanks so much. Have a wonderful day!!
Aww thank you Luv! 🥰 The blush is by Bobby Brown (Apricot). The lippie is a lip pencil by Make Up Forever (608: Limitless Brown) and some lip balm by Naturium (Petal) 🥰
Thanks for taking us through your routine! Your hair looks great!!! The definition is everything! 🥰 My hair is so dry! I’m going to give this a try! Do you shampoo after a week of cowashing? TFS 👍🏽😊
Hi Luv! Gurrrlllll my hair was soooooo dry until it wasn’t even funny! I’ve honestly never felt or seen my hair be as dry as it was when I was using the no oils and butters method. With this method my hair feels so hydrated and the hydration feels like it’s being kept in my hair because of the conditioner. To answer your question, yes I am using his no sudsing shampoo once per week. The rest of the time I’m cowashing with conditioner. I’m also planning on washing my hair 1-2 times per month with a mild sudsing shampoo. I’m still trying to figure out what works best for me and go from there. However, I plan to continue to share everything. 💖
@@shelly.v.247 This is so exciting! I’m so glad that this is working for you! I’m ready to give it a try. My hair needs help!!! Can’t wait to follow your journey. Thanks for sharing!!!
@@shelly.v.247 Hi, your hair looks so good! Do you double cleanse with his no sudsing shampoo and do you think you'll have to clarify more using this method? Also, do you think it's necessary to use a detangling brush after a certain point in order to thoroughly detangle and catch all the shed hair? Thank you!
I tried his products but never tried the method, I don’t remember why. Right now I’m washing my hair 2 or 3 times a week. I just did the Big Poppa/ENBBA WNG.
Ohhhh yes I feel you Sis! 😝In the areas where I still have a little bit of damage my hair porosity is high. However, I also have low porosity within my hair as well. I feel like I’ve gotten a good handle on drying my hair. I no longer start off on soaking wet hair, so that cuts down the drying time. I’ve been drying it for about 20 minutes each time I reset it. I’m currently resetting my hair twice a week so it’s really doable for me.💖
Is this the morning after the kinky curl? I still have some kinky curl I loved the conditioner..I did not like the jar gel. How did you sleep? I found the only way I could get it to cork back was to wet it all over again. I have high porosity hair so it would get dry mind you I was trying with gel. I was a straight natural and did roller set. Now I'm transitioning again in 4 months post should take me a year to fully be natural without a big chop.
I used the Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in underneath my styler(s). I didn’t use any of their other products. I didn’t have to do anything to make my curls spring back at all. I’ve actually noticed that when I use flexible stylers my curls do way better with staying springy. When I was using harder held stylers my curls would get flat and be crunchy. So maybe try more flexible stylers if you aren’t doing so already. 💖
Thank you and yes you got it! I mostly cowash with conditioner weekly. However, once per week I wash my hair with a non sudsing shampoo. I’m also going to start experimenting with washing my hair with a mild lathering shampoo 1-2 times per month. So far so good though! ♥️🙏🏽
Aww thank you so very much! 🥰Yes, because that’s what I’ve started to play around with. I’m finding there is a ton of flexibility with this method. I’ve also been posting pics of my day 3 hair on my instagram so people can see it in real time there. 💖

Hi beautiful! 🥰 Well I can certainly understand why you’d be nervous about it. Have you considered doing a 1 on 1 consult with him? I know he offers them. I personally would make sure I’m doing regular protein treatments. I think people don’t realize that that is an important part. Shoot I didn’t until @SimplyTamZ DM’d me and told me. 😅
It absolutely has and did! I have since tweaked what I’m doing to care for my hair and I’ll be sharing it soon. I only plan to clarify my hair a few times per year. I feel as long as I use the appropriate shampoo during the month I won’t need lots of clarifying treatments but we shall see. Btw, the BGC left my hair extremely dehydrated and stripped! Moving away from their system was a must for me!!!!

Now that my hair is feeling and behaving an actually hydrated, I’ve been able to stretch my days out. I think the important takeaways to tweak the method or whatever you do to suit your lifestyle.💖

You’re hair is cute and healthy ❤
Thank you Luv! 💖🤗
Love it!! Thanks for sharing 👛👛
Absolutely my pleasure! 💖🥰
Your hair looks better each day😍!
How do you choose which conditioner to use for this method🤔?
Thank you Luv! 💖 I’m picking conditioners that have no silicone (that might change) great slip and are cost effective! You’re supposed to use as much conditioner as you have hair so I’m being very generous with mine and my hair seems to be getting better by the day! 🙌🏽
It looks very nice.
Thank you so very much! 💖
I'm late to the party. Are you washing your hair everyday?!
Thanks for sharing!!😍 It’s so fun to hear what others are using and doing! Where do you get wonder curl from? Amazon? 💖
I love it, love it, love it! It’s like we’re watching your hair transform right before our eyes.
Do you find that you are using less product?
Thank you so very much beautiful! Yes and no lol. 😂 So if I do it daily, I feel like I’m using less product such as the conditioner. If I wait longer than I tend to use a little more and it even takes a bit more time because I feel like my hair is a tad more tangled.
As far as stylers go, it’s about the same amount each time. But I’ve gotten so good at setting my hair that I can easily push it out to day 3. TBT, I could go even longer because my hair still looks great but I try not to because I want to keep it as hydrated as I can.
Hope that all makes sense? 😅
Thank you as always for all of your love and support over here and on Instagram. It hasn’t gone unnoticed Sis‼️🥰🤗💯😘
Thank you so much for doing this.. I can’t wait to try it out on my hair
You’re welcome and I hope it works out for you like it did for me. It was a game changer‼️💖🙌🏽
She cute she cute 🎶 🎵 she cute 🎤
Lmaooooo
Haha 🤣
TFS 👍🏽😊
Anthony Dickey's wash and go requires you to shampoo once per week.
@@miniminott48 Ok thank you that’s good to know! Thanks for responding!👍🏽
Sound like you have what is working for you. 💖🤗
Looks amazing. How often do you use shampoo with this method?
Thank you! 🥰 His recommendations are different than what I do. I use shampoo 1-2 times per month. 💖
Do you know your hair porosity? I have low porosity hair and it takes 25 minutes to dry with a diffuser using mousse; 45 min if I use gel.
Absolutely beautiful. So let me get this right lol, you wet the hair with conditioner, then rinse out and apply your stylers, right?
Thank you and yes you got it! I mostly cowash with conditioner weekly. However, once per week I wash my hair with a non sudsing shampoo. I’m also going to start experimenting with washing my hair with a mild lathering shampoo 1-2 times per month. So far so good though! ♥️🙏🏽
@@shelly.v.247 Thank you. 😊
😊❤Gorgeous results! Will you cut back to eventually only doing this 2-3 times a week?
Aww thank you so very much! 🥰Yes, because that’s what I’ve started to play around with. I’m finding there is a ton of flexibility with this method. I’ve also been posting pics of my day 3 hair on my instagram so people can see it in real time there. 💖
how are you maintaining your hair at night?
I usually sleep with a bonnet on or just on a satin/silk pillowcase💖
@shelly.v.247 , You have really beautiful locks.
I'm truly considering to try this method, but I am quite nervous. In the past I have dealt with moisture overload because of co-washing with just a moisturizing conditioner. I have low porosity hair and find my hair every now, and then, going over to the moisture overload side. I have to put protein in my hair from time to time to kick it back into shape.
Would you recommend this method for me? And does Anthony Dickie offer an alternative option for woman who have low porosity hair?
Hi beautiful! 🥰 Well I can certainly understand why you’d be nervous about it.
Have you considered doing a 1 on 1 consult with him? I know he offers them.
I personally would make sure I’m doing regular protein treatments. I think people don’t realize that that is an important part. Shoot I didn’t until @SimplyTamZ DM’d me and told me. 😅
She cute! She cute!😂❤
👀🤣💖
She cute She cute!!
🤣🤣🤣
Has this Anthony Dickey method helped your hair stayed hydrated longer than the black girls curls method? How often do you clarify your hair ?
It absolutely has and did! I have since tweaked what I’m doing to care for my hair and I’ll be sharing it soon. I only plan to clarify my hair a few times per year. I feel as long as I use the appropriate shampoo during the month I won’t need lots of clarifying treatments but we shall see.
Btw, the BGC left my hair extremely dehydrated and stripped! Moving away from their system was a must for me!!!!
Maybe I’ll do the Big Poppa/Mousse Def combo tomorrow.
It’s the method more than the products. The products just help seal the deal! 🤗
😂😊
Nice sister but she talk to damn much
Haha, I’m sorry. I do have the gift of gab!🙈🥴😆 Besides that, I hope you enjoyed the video Luv! 💖
I love this method. I notice my curls hang immediately and dry super fast when using Doux
Yes and there’s something to regularly bathing it in conditioner that smooths the hair makes it just hang! 💖
