I am very nostalgic over this band. Her voice brings every type of emotion up from my chest. I've realized just how lucky I am to have grown up listening to Dolores sing. What an absolute tragedy.
Dolores was amazing! this was the music of my youth! I think Daffodil Lament and Stars are beautiful songs, both triumphant in different ways. Dolores was such a gem and that talent, beautiful both inside and out. You are truly missed Dolores.

RIP Dolores! You were like no other and gosh, will I miss you! As I grew up, I noticed most of my classmates and friends had a favourite band or a "band fever " of some sort, usually Simple Plan, Green Day, etc and as much as I liked them, I never loved them that much and I honestly thought that would be it. Then, in my late teen I found the Cranberries and that was the missing puzzle for me. I'm shattered by her death and I can only imagine what her family must be going through. All my love to them!

I feel the same way you do. I feel like I'm rediscovering The Cranberries as an adult. Daffodil Lament and Stars are both very special to me, as Daffodil Lament reminds me of getting out of my abusive marriage and finding hope again. Stars is just a brilliant song and I hope one day to find someone who will love me just the way I am. I seem to find a Cranberries song just at the right moment.

@D Devil her's was such a rare talent. She could pitch and sing her voice just ever so slightly off talent from the band, and sound better for doing so. Everything about her singing ran contrary to what i would typically appreciate in a voice. But it was still so genuinely Irish. Thank you Dolores! :)
I grew up listening to rock from late 60s through 70s. Those were the best years. I listened to Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. I remember listening to the Beatles at a young age in 65. I am half Scot so spent many years in Edinburgh. Most of you were not even born then. The cranberries were way to mellow for me but they did produce one song that I thought was worth listening to. That song would be Linger.
Facebook kept pushing this video on top of my wall, so I surrendered and came here... feeling so nostalgic now, these songs immediately push me back 10 years, when I started discovering real music (and myself). Thank you for being a part of that process!

What I loved the most about the Cranberries, is even though Dolores could sing a high note better then any singer The Cranberries did so much more then just love songs. Zombie will always be remembered as one of the bands best, did-do Salvation and Ridiculous Thoughts, the Cranberries made you think, and they changed with the times.
"Dolores" - in Spanish; "sorrows", or "pains". But why would Irish use to name? For what do they know of Latin; even if experts of lamentation? Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan is beautiful, she is talented, she is loved by so many. Though "Joy" does not serve; despite all of THAT which she brought to this world. 😪
I would say they're not even all that talented. And I don't usually disparage people. They can make songs happen, sure, but the chord progressions are simple, the music isn't complex, there's nothing special or difficult coming from them, only Delores.
