I play Overwatch and Valorant almost every day, but I absolutely never play the competitive gamemodes. I play purely to have fun with friends. It’s a blast, and I highly recommend just taking it easy and vibing in unranked to anyone who’s getting tilted or stressed out by competitive games. You get all the fun of the game itself with none of the pressure!
Me too man, I do Valorant in unranked to have a good time! Like one match, we all keep going to the same area of the map and kept dying hilariously!! 😂
games became fun again once i stopped taking them too seriously and only play with a group of friends my mentality was so bad when i used to grind ranked solo eveey single day and now i just dont rly care or have that needless stress anymore, which is a really good thing 🙏🙏 so i get where ur coming from
Playing to rank up all for it be reset every few months, insane. I play to have fun with friends but at a certain point the skill gap makes it unfun because i cant put enough time in. These games are made for you to get hooked its crazy.
Yes since most of the time I put all my effort on winning one game but still can't win due to my teammates being bad or not communicating well it feels demoralizing and depressing at the same time since I was itching for that win so bad but ended being disappointed so I start hating myself for it cuz I can't win and I already learn a lot from every mistakes I made I master all of the strats and technique in the game but still getting lose streaks after lose streaks it's just not that great @@TheManTheChef
"...why are kids nowadays getting addicted to the cycle of wins and losses?" In the hopes of creating future long-term customers, who use their time, energy, and money to keep the cycle going. A goofy point, but does anyone remember the scene in Iron Man 3 when Ben Kingsley's Trevor reveals The Mandarin to be a role he's playing to Tony? He tells Tony that he "had a drug problem, and then the AIM people approached me about the role." Tony says "what, they'd get you off of them?" But Trevor says "They said they'd give me more." I really do think many games are designed not only with replay value in mind as a positive, but with creating both dependence and the satisfying hit, as you say. Why spend your free time doing x, y, or z when you could be playing again?
Gaming is so boring to me. The last time I played a game was in 2020. Now in 2023 I got rid of my Xbox seires x last month. I also have a nintendo switch but its collecting dust. Im getting rid of it soon. I started to read bookes instead. I enjoy it.
I took a liking of Overwatch 2 and well, i usually don't touch competitive because i really don't want to work in a video game, i usually hop on quick play, enjoy my time, cheer some teammates who play usually when i lose and someone gets mad i just like to think. "Won't ever see them again so, lets go another round."
*for me, the best era for online gaming was 2008 through 2011 👌 GTA4, Splinter Cell Double Agent, CODMW1&2, All-Pro Football 2K8, NBA Live 09/10, Madden 10, Backbreaker, RDR, Burnout Revenge, Burnout Paradise 😍 I haven't had FUN online since then* 👎
6:06 THIS, is what games are supposed to be, escape from real life and unwind. Not those online-only competitive games that serve as soap operas leading to no sense of progression nor any story that excites you (if there is one even) and only serve as a constant casino-like slot machine for the corporations that took over some companies that were once the best and respected game companies. This is why I only play some competitive games only once in a blue moon. As a 90's kid, moved from Asia to Europe, I had exposed myself to both Western and Asian games to this day and can easily choose games to be on my top 10. Most people around me only play Western games that are mainstream, or just FIFA games. They rarely touched any Asian games that are better than what the West can offer. But for me, not only I play certain titles that are mainstream, but also explore the hidden gems that most people never heard of or heard very little about. This made me having so much options open when it comes to trying out new games from various genre. To me, competitive gaming kills the definition of gaming. Many online people are toxic from what I've heard, or just aim to win...I mean, it's not like they're on e-sports. Even online modes of some single player games (fighting games especially) I kept getting spammers of the same combos over and over again just because they are the "winning moves". Online modes meant to be fun, but many people chose to take this away, which is a shame.
Same here man like if i'm doing Warzone, I always go straight to bootcamp to go against bots and other players. We won a few times and I had an amazing time going after the bots! For Fortnite, I still do Build and No Build since I've gotten pretty good at the game and I love to goof around with the boys. Valorant, I mostly do Unranked and it gives me Overwatch Vibes! Pretty fascinating game! Guns look really dope but, overpriced honestly. 😅
I completely agree. Although not the same topic, I occassionally get matched with some pro players and it rendered the game absolutely unfun for the casual playbase. Then the mfs grieve you about the skill gap for not being a bunch of shut ins that play a game hundreds of hours like them. As if I wanted to get matched with you to play to lose. Hell nah brother, I am not touching competitive gaming in my life nor will I contribute to it in any way or shape.
What AI we need is not generative for images, but for team base games , I like the gameplay of them , I don't like the players of them, I never liked fighter games or chess pass the ocasional plays but I want my main hobby to be games so I'm pretty much monopoly into competitive games if I wanna play something everyday :) which sucks so I now read articles and listen to music on youtube. also I could quit 10-15 yo friendships but who knows what weirdos I will find on the internet now to play minecraft or l4d co-op with so if all my friends play competitive and ask me I now refuse but sometimes I just think that it would be better to part ways
I played halo 2 a lot I did like the competition but once I got to lvl40 finally getting the red box level all the OGs know But honestly the best memories were big team battle with friends doing stupid stuff laughing no pressure These days I just play Skyrim I’m done with FPS not my cup of tea anymore RPG games like Witcher have been all I play now
I want to play with other mature folks who come to win when I'm playing something competitively. Services like ESEA for Counter-Strike is what comes to mind. I'm okay with paying a cost upfront.
Would've loved to hear your opinion on a Rainbow Six Siege... Good video though, I think I've hit the "play to have fun" point in my gaming journey also
I have a friend who has no problem buying skins on Valorant then buying a game that is on sale. Every single day dude's playing Valorant. I'm already tired playing the same game over and over again.
I feel like I am here for a different reason , I am a easily addicted person and I can’t moderate stuff , I been gaming non stop since I was 7 (2007) I am now 23 soon 24 and I am having trouble with my work and not getting work at the moment and I been gaming non stop , but I don’t want to quit gaming all together I just want to quit multiplayer games for a while

that was a really good speech! wish people played more for fun and not to win a match
Thanks!
These videos are so well made, just the right length. I wish you much success, and I think it's gonna come soon!

Playing PVP games these days is literally not worth it if you win you dont feel great and if you lose you just go straight into depression.
Losing in a game gives you depression?
