The problem with the game is that most of the solutions I see are just reducing the quality, such as using dx11 and vulkan. Frankly, I don't like playing with these because they distort the quality greatly. I have high specifications and I face some light stuttering, but in the end, I'm not the only one who faces these stuttering, everyone does. I hate Unreal 5 on the PC. It's very bad on the PC. I don't know why they don't fix it. Damn them.

@@s9209122222 DXVK requires the application to run at DX11 and below. So you are missing certain effects without DX12. Whether is it noticeable or not is debatable. Plus since DX12U its feature set is diverging away from Vulkan..
@@omgzLAZERpewpew The config is what makes all the difference. I tried Vulcan renderer before because it is listed in all the Performance Guides on Steam but without the config you have here it actually makes the game run worse. Thanks for the help.

Ive seen this work with dead space remake. Vulkan seems so much more stable with traversal stutter than DX12. Pretty sure u can use VKD3D which is the DX12 equivilant to DXVK (the DX11 equivlant).

If it could work in any DX11 game I would imagine it would of already been added to games like Apex Legends and Destiny (older games) but because its not I imagine its probably a pain to get working who knows?

I tried but I can’t get the overlay to show up but I put 1% lows on another video and d3d12 loves to drop to 11, 9, 16 fps. Vulcan 1% lows are 55 fps. Way way better so try it brother

Hello, I just want to know if by chance I am the only one who when enabling it has graphics bugs in the start menu and cutscenes, not in the gameplay that is good and with less stutter
I tried this but got weird graphic bug in Main Menu and Cut Screen. So it's a big No to me. Then i tried limited my fps with Radeon Chill (50 to 59 fps) (100 - 118 with AFMF2) FSR3.0 Quality, Shadow on Low. Everything maxed without Ray Tracing. Now it's Smooth with no stutter most of the time.
Hey man! So I've just installed this patch and it's definitely smoothed things out A LOT! Thanks! There's a tiny bit of pop-in but frankly that's manageable. The only downside is that it's now limited FPS to 30 - any ideas how I change that to 60? Cheers!

In the game often soap textures, some sounds are played with delay, while other sounds work. The game is on a normal basis, the system requirements are met. At the beginning of the game fixed it by some reason, for a long time everything worked normally. But after a certain moment the problem appeared again (probably because I decided to change the graphics, although strange, returned it to its previous parameters - nothing was fixed). Could someone have this and know how to fix? The game likes, but can not play properly because of all this.
This video got recommended a bit late, i powered thru the game even though the performance was dog water. The devs didnt optimize nothing this game ran horribly
the only game I have to constantly change my settings for, every area new area I enter, sometimes even rooms have drastically different framerates. I could get 60 fps in a hallway in the blue creek apartments and then I enter the clock room 50 fps, then I exit to the outside area 40 fps, the same area 3 different framerates.
how do i go about removing these files and putting the game back to it's original state? This didn't work for me so i deleted and removed the files and now my game crashes everytime i try to open it
3070 with an old 7700k here, the game is now running smoothly, CPU usage dropped a ton, some traversal stutter is still there but noting serious .and sadly I finished the game yesterday but I've checked multiple save points, I have to note that DLSS and FSR3 are not working in DX11 mod, but the game looks fine IMO, is there any comparison between dx12 and dx11 cause I don't know if anything missing from visuals or not?
This is only to fix the traversal or compilation stuttter. I also used the 60fps cutscene mod and I saw there was an animation stutter fix but I didn’t try it.
@@omgzLAZERpewpew Thanks! Finally got the traversal stutter out of the game! Followed your instructions then also made sure to turn on Gsync and V-Sync in Nvidia Control Panel as well as inject Reflex through RTSS, plus cap FPS to 60 in RTSS. I don't know which if any of those extra steps may have done it, but when I tried just the Vulkan steps in the video, it was a bit better, but I still had the big stutter hitches in areas like the town near the bar. Now with Vulkan plus those other steps (I guess), it's just about perfect. On top of that I'm running Lossless Scaling at X2 frame gen, and after a bunch of hours of trying one thing after another, finally feel like the game is now running how it should.
Sadly animation stutter will always happen unless the game is capped to 30FPS. It requires a patch to get the game to run under fixed timeframes so that it’s stable at 60FPS.

I did have Optiscaler and removed everything from that mod but it still crashed no matter what... if i take those 2 files from ur method out the folder it works again.

This fix doesn't work for me because my machine is underpowered :d The game booted and loaded way faster tho, but my processor is really old and even following your other tips didn't solve the issue, anyway, I'm gonna have to live with constant stuttering anyway I guess, I'm gonna look into lossless scaling tho I don't think it'll solve anything because my game stutters even at the lowest possible settings, my GPU is severely bottlenecked, but I fully believe this fix would've worked if that wasn't the case, thx for the video

Hi you might try removing the line dxvk.numCompilerThreads = 0 From the config file. You have a 16 thread processor so you might try setting it to 8 or 4 instead to reduce the load on your CPU. You might also increase your graphics settings so that your GPU isn’t waiting for your CPU working so hard. Just suggestions not sure how to fix that.
sound like you are on a gaming laptop as well. get yourself a LLano cooling pad. it drops my temps a whopping 20 c im averaging 60 -70 c on both cpu and gpu. its like 100 bucks give or take but a seriously worthwhile investment.
My game runs fine with no monsters around, but when they appears, drop to single digit and in the moment it works fine again the monsters already eats me so...

I have a 7800x3d and 4080 and walking in the city I get some Crazy stutter. Especially near neelys bar. I have raytracing on tho...

How does Vulkan reduce quality? Vulkan is equal to DX12.

I have found that Vulcan is always superior to DX12 if implemented correctly. Better frame rate and stability.

Dude just use RTSS Rivatuner Statistics so you can show us the actual frametime on the screen. Otherwise it makes no sense

a D3D11 compatible GPU is required... error message on my 6800XT after applying the patch files as shown in the video.

Optimiz Mod and DLSS/ XeSS Performance is the Key to go Smooth.

I tried your method but it gives a UE-SHProto crash. (i added the 2 files, made the conf and put it in the right folder. added -dx11)
I did have Optiscaler and removed everything from that mod but it still crashed no matter what... if i take those 2 files from ur method out the folder it works again.

Lossless scaling would work to get some fps since you can run it at 720p or something and scale it up with FSR there

Not sure. I would make a shortcut to the exe and then add -dx11 after the target in the shortcut

How do you use vulkan if the game is not from Steam?
create a shortcut to start the game from the SHproto.exe in the main game folder SILENT HILL 2. add -dx11 to the end of the target in the shortcut

Maybe try making a shortcut and run the exe with -dx11 at the end

To eliminate all the suttering, limit the fps in msi afterbirner rivatunner to 50 fps and bye frame drop. I also use dx11
when i use DXVK the game become super brighter LOL
