The narrative of him being a winner only really worked when he wasn't experiencing consequences for his actions imo. There was an air of plausibility to it back in the 90s and 00s because no one had had solid evidence to prove he was trash the whole time. He's histrionic and narcissitic and can't handle Momala stepping in and chastising him so firmly so he folds like a wet napkin and lashes out like a toddler. He cant take accountability so he can't provide a genuine response based on his personal values and beliefs and stick to it. He has to win even if it causes him to lose lol.

It would be the prosecutor that used Trump's boring repetition (talking points) against him. Dropping the comment about his crowd size was the kill shot. He lost it after that.
