@@A1RM4X Ok still ran into issues with games crashing in hyprland. Apex doesn't work, dunno y, gamescope now works. Latency, still quite high even with tearing so I think we need to get nvidia control panel to fix that.
@@A1RM4X Oh really I have been daily drivin it alr for a while. But ya gonna drive KDE for a while than, just that really hard to live without WM. LMAO
Edit: Installing the nvidia beta 555.52.04 drivers from the AUR got rid of every single one of these issues. Using the 'nvidia-all' tool no matter which driver versions I tried, tuning my CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS, even having to run an autoscript to make manually set my kscreen display settings, none of them worked. Tried every possible option and the nvidia-all tool is what the problem was. If anyone has issues with with these drivers on a similar system, when using nvidia-all. Try using the AUR instead and should fix it. Seems to work a little better on the regular 555.52.04 tkg driver for me. But both dkms and regular seem to have problems with multiple monitors. Not sure if it is just cause my 3rd is a tv in a different resolution compared to the 1st and 2nd monitors that are the same. They both takes well over 2 mins to load into the desktop after logging in. The monitors signal cuts out for that 2mins then comes back eventually at a black desktop until I left click on the desktop to get the black screen to go away. X11 doesn't have any issue with either one. Only wayland. Didn't have this issue with the regular 550 driver. Kernel 6.9.3-arch1-1. KDE Plasma 6.0.5. SDDM. RTX 3090 TI. Do not need to disable the firmware for this gpu but do have the modesetting set. On the dkms 555.52.04 driver, grub will not get past initializing the ram at boot if I use the egl-wayland-tgk that is included with the nvidia-all installer. But the regular 555.52.04 driver works with the egl-wayland-tkg package and doesn't work with the egl-wayland-git AUR package. Weird. Also have issues building the drivers. Have to use gcc for building the main driver, otherwise clang gets a segmentation fault. Then have to use Clang to build the egl-wayland-git AUR otherwise gcc get a segmentation fault. Then have to use gcc again to build kwin-explicit-sync otherwise I get some other kind of fault using clang always at 69%, that I forget what it was off the top of my head. I am on a Intel 13900KS.
That's for kde. For gnome, no need to install kwin-explicit-sync or something equivalent since it's part of the DE itself. And one caveat of using nvidia-all is that those pkgs are not part of aur and need to manually run through the git clone and makepkg steps everytime for a new driver.
I did it but after reboot my displays are unknown, had to remove second monitor, also I don't use grub, I'm using the default from the archinstall which is systemd I think, any clue how to recover my monitors? I'll worry about the firmware edit later if I can get my screens back correctly.
i just did a fresh arch install, with the default nvidia driver, and plasma. all working without any aditional tweaks or packages. I have one question to you though, is it normal that the nvidia control panel is almost with no options? i mean, it basically have the system information, thermal settings, application profiles and a few more settings. is it normal? cheers
Running Hyperland and about to try this out, as I seem to have a neutered version of NVIDIA drivers currently, can’t access power mizer or high performance mode. Will this mess with my current endeavourOS/hyperland setup??
Hey! As I write this answer, the wlroots packaged with hyprland has not been patched yet with explicit sync. So you can install the drivers but they won't be running as expected. We will have to be patient for the full experience on Wayland.

Hi! To roll back: - Uninstall the TkG packages: sudo pacman -R lib32-nvidia-utils-tkg lib32-opencl-nvidia-tkg nvidia-dkms-tkg nvidia-settings-tkg nvidia-utils-tkg opencl-nvidia-tkg - Reinstall the original drivers: sudo pacman -S lib32-nvidia-utils lib32-opencl-nvidia nvidia-dkms nvidia-settings nvidia-utils opencl-nvidia - Reinstall the other packages: sudo pacman -S egl-wayland kwin Done! If you get lost rewatch the videos and reinstall the packages you upgraded. Simple as that.
IMPORTANT: SINCE THE RELEASE OF KDE PLASMA 6.1, EXPLICIT SYNC IS ACTIVATED BY DEFAULT. JUST INSTALL THE DRIVERS, THAT IS ALL. THANKS.

This fix all my games on Wayland run perfect now.
after following your tutorial step by step my plasma-shell would crash in the first 2 min of booting so i decided to reinstall with the old drivers.

Just use the prime swichers, bambelbee or prime-manager-wayland fork. It works for me

I have a question
Do u have a solution for the fonts rendering issue on Arch ?
Open instead of properietary will be preferred for newer cards as it does not taint the kernel (3:20)
Is that last step with disabling the firmware only a problem if you're in KDE? Or is it just a universal refresh rate issue?
Deactivate it only if the pb occurs. It looks like not all the card / firmware are affected the same way.

Dont follow this tutorial it is out of date. I will remove it from my channel. Use the latest Nvidia drivers 555 or 560 beta.
sadly whit garuda i get conflict whit old driver
Why do ALL that?? we have the beta drivers on the beta channel on Arch.. OR even on AUR
They are not in any testing repos yet... And yes they are in AUR but I explain in the video why I use nvidia-all...
Does this driver fix the issues?
Followed all of what you said, but my screen is left in a state of being black with a white cursor.
It you can login in X11 and not in wayland it is related to early loading of the nvidia modules. More info here: wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA
Thanks. That Nvidia page is a real confusing mess. Linking to dead sites and stuff too. I think I will need an entire day to go through it.
