This song is such an emotional gut punch when it comes up in game. It’s near the end of the characters journey and it overlays with voices from characters you’ve met that reflect either the good/heroic choices or evil/selfish choices you may have made. RDR2 is a masterclass in how impactful storytelling in games can be.
I had shivers during Unshaken, that's when you get back from Guarma, I didn't expect that song and it definitely hit me. But when That's the way it is came, shivers, tears, so many emotions. It made me reflect back on everything that happened in the game, but also on my own life. Immensely powerful.
This song ALWAYS makes me emotional when I hear it. It plays near the end of the game when a character you've grown very attached to is riding to what they know will be their death, and they're reflecting on their life and all the choices they made. It's an incredibly powerful moment
You heard the gameplay cut version of the song, that's why it was so short. The soundtrack version is longer and has a few more sections. Still a masterpiece of a song, having played the game recently it always manages to make me a little teareyed when I listen to it. Most heartbreaking final act I've ever played in a videogame 😢
If you wish to dive in such a great character I highly recommend this game. Such a great cast and just world immersing game. the pauses between the lyrics is replaced with in game lines and its just so well done
Oh dear oh dear, that hairstyle makes you look so fabulous :D Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game. Atmospheric, really hits hard once you get into its story and the overall feeling.
HIGHLY recommend checking out some of the soundtrack from Red Dead Redemption 1 as well, such as Deadman's Gun, Far Away, or even some of the ambient music in both games without lyrics and vocals. RDR1's sound is special in that it harkens back to some of the iconic Spaghetti Western films in its ambient music like The Dollars Trilogy, more so even than RDR2 does. Both games are fantastic as well; excellent sound design and rich storytelling that may come as a surprise if you've only seen a few minutes of the gameplay.
You were pretty on spot with it being a recap moment. The main character is riding back to the camp on his last ride. All his life he saw himself as a bad guy he thought he was a villain but in that moment he is remembering the voices of all the people he helped and all of the people he saved. He begins to realize he was a good person in the end and makes peace with himself. This all takes place just after he says his goodbyes to the people he called his family after saving them. Its a very emotional point in the game. It always gets a tear out of me.
You are intuitive! You hit the nail on the head. This is the song that accompanies the main character, alone on his way to his final confrontation. He is riding in the scenery, reflecting on past events. Impressive read. Move this game to the top of your long list. This is considered one of the top games of all time.
This song is so fantastic and iconic for people who've played the game, but it's also ironically not that representative of the rest of the music in it. American Venom is a track that is just absolutely one you should listen to, it's the series summed up for sure.
Oh boy, this song makes me emotional every single time. The feeling I get from the song is 'making peace with the end', it's not really somber and sad - It's a shrug, a small smile and a look over the shoulder. That's the way it is, you can't go back and the next step forward will be the last one you take. Would highly recommend American Venom from RDR as well, it's a different vibe - But it's a hell of a ride.
If I could choose one game for you to play, it would be Red Dead 2. It's an absolutely masterful recreation of the era when the Old West was dying and clashed with modern civilization (specifically 1899), it has the most lively and believable open world of all time, and tells probably the most emotional story I've ever experienced in a game.
I think it could be really cool to do some reactions to the gameplay scenes that accompany some of these musical scores, so you could also see the way the music compliments the scene and is naturally engineered to fit into the gameplay in a seemless way! More specifically with this one, this song is implemented in a melancholy ride towards the end of the main characters story, with flashbacks to the choices the player made throughout the game and the main character contemplating what their legacy will be and if they're ready to be ok with the man they've become.
There's no just playing this game a little bit...you will be immersed in its world and characters and story as much as you would a good tv series. Its a masterpiece
Interesting you mention Willie Nelson, he actually wrote a song FOR Red Dead 2 called Cruel World. Definitely worth checking out even if you don't do a formal reaction to it.
Kind of off topic but I would for you to react to YOASOBI just there music in general. But if you want anything more specific the most popular ones are IDOL and Racing into the Night. I’m a recent viewer so I don’t expect you to see this but I love your content. Keep up the work man!
Are you familiar with Daniel Lanois? He's the composer, producer, vocalist on this track. The way he plays guitar on some of the end credits music just puts me in the best of most complicative of moods. Produced for U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel. It's funny, I wasn't aware of him until this game.
Man, Geebz, you would get so much out of this game's characterization and storytelling particularly if you played through to the point where you would hear this. I know games have been growing on you, but if you could hit that moment, spoiler free of course, I think you'd totally get what us gamers get. Its a masterpiece.
Yes! This is one of the best games with one of the best soundtracks. Literally you could spend a month reacting to this games soundtrack, and you wouldn't waste your month. Really hope you explore this soundtrack some more.
This is a shortened version. There's a longer one!!! You should definitely listen to that one too, at the very least on your own because I think you're really enjoy it :))
Oh, man. It's a good thing you didn't play this game, otherwise this song would destroy you. It makes me want to cry every time I hear it. Red Dead 2 is probably the best game I've ever played. I usually don't care about the story in games, but Red Dead is really special. Red Dead 2 is truly a masterpiece.
Highly recommend Red Dead 2 it's a great game that you definitely need to play asap! I just finished the story last week, and there aren't words that could justify the level of writing packed into the story. And to think at first I bought it thinking it was cowboy GTA lol
Yes, this song is not the full version. It was made for the game, and shows up in a emotional cutscene of the last mission where the main character Arthur dies. The full version is beautiful though.
You guessed it pretty much right in the beginning. You're on a trail, I think riding your horse in mountains, recapping the story before you teach the end
Would love to see you play the game and get your input on the music throughout the game. 61 million games sold, a real movie of a game. Nothing like you might think of when thinking of a “video game”
It's funny that you said it sounds like music you'd hear while riding from one place to another, because that's literally what's happening in the game when this song is played.
Red dead 1 and 2 are both some of the best modern westerns out there, probably THE best. If their stories were told through movies or a TV series instead, just about every middle-aged or older man you meet would probably have an opinion on it.
Red Dead is made by the guys that do Grand Theft Auto, theyve always had a very artistic poster style. Rdr1 has some great songs as well and is a great game if a little bit aged now. You would probably like the hello song performed in game at the theater. I believe they mocapped the whole band and is a banger... Both that and down in san denise are 2 songs they do... But i highly recommend a gameplay viewing not just the audio ❤
Hi great as always. But what happened to BG3 Soundtrack part 2? Its been a few weeks now. Theres alot of gems in there which I would love your reaction to.
You picking up a nomadic theme from the song means it was perfectly composed and produced for this game. As you progress through the game, the main character’s group is constantly picking up camp and moving to a new location with trouble on their heels. And on top of that, you as the main character are constantly coming and going from camp and setting up temporary camps in the wild when you’re away from the group.
Apologies if you’ve already reacted to it but i think it’d be great if you could check out the main theme from Starfield, especially seeing as it’s just released the other week
This song is such an emotional gut punch when it comes up in game. Top 5 best games of all time.
WHY WONT THEY RELEASE 60FPS VERSION!!!!!!!
Yeah, it legit made me tear up on my first playthrough.
Bro, just hearing it makes my cry 😭 i looove this game 😍

It's pretty much impossible for anyone who's played the game not to have tears in their eyes when they hear this.

Funny you mentioned Willie Nelson, he has a track on RDR2 as well called cruel world. The entire soundtrack is great.
Red Redemption ll was a life changing game to many
it sucks bc I will never be able to enjoy another game until rdr3

This! Really missed the "what's the meaning of the scar if we don't learn how to heal" verse - that's my favorite

Willie Nelson did a song for the soundtrack as well “Cruel World”
The vibe you got is the exact scene that this song is played towards the end of the game
Also gotta check out 'unshaken' also from rdr2

this game has my favorite story of any game

The way this track is used in the game made me tear up and I never cry while watching video game or movie stories.

After all the character and thus you, the player had gone through and that song started, tears and nothing but tears. Oh man. Rockstar nailed that.
You should watch the part of the game when this music plays. One of the moments in gaming history that will last forever.
There's no just playing this game a little bit...you will be immersed in its world and characters and story as much as you would a good tv series. Its a masterpiece
This game is the greatest work of art ever made
Interesting you mention Willie Nelson, he actually wrote a song FOR Red Dead 2 called Cruel World. Definitely worth checking out even if you don't do a formal reaction to it.
This song was played during Arhtur's last ride it made me cry ,most players cried while the song was played very impactful story telling
Every time I hear this song I cry
You HAVE to listen to Unshaken from the same game. Incredible song.
FINALLY someone says fret noise shows a natural sound of an instrument, it gives a soul and honesty to the song. FINALLY
This gave me chills, cold chills, happy but unhappy chills, a story of humans more than npcs Arthur Morgan was a real person to me.
No way that song is so powerful, i had never listened to it apart from in game and i still got teary from the first note
This is the only song I listen to the gets me to tear up.
Congrats on 100 000k 🎉🎉🎉
if you're looking for unique implementation of the orchestra, demon's souls 2009 ost is minimalistic, but very atmospheric.

Immediately after this song I wanted more, but I can't find a whole lot by him, I mean where he sings too.
I'm surprised his name wasn't the first thing mentioned
One last ride Arthur, for what matters.

So many ppl hating this song because the things it is atached to. I love it and hate it at the same time.
RDR2 is a great game for a starter, it's narratively brilliant and beautiful visually and musically. It's also not too heavy on the game mechanics.
Dude he should do all RDR2 OST
American venom, o unshaken
Dead Red 💀
Please react to assassins creed 4 black flag opening theme
pls react to blood feuds ancient and modern

Im upset you wear a hat as often you do with a wig like that man. Let it flow haha !!
In my opinion, rdr 1 ost is better 😊.
When it comes to instrumental music, I agree. When it comes to songs, I think RDR 2 is better.
@@krissuyx Even if we're talking about songs, I prefer "Far Away" and "Deadman's Gun" from RDR1 personally. Both games have excellent music though.
The feeling 1 created was so much more atmospheric. Even the little guitar motif that plays after a side quest is iconic.
