- Adavus are set of steps incorporating combination of movements of various body parts in a set tala.
Thattadavu is the first and foremost adavu taught that involves lifting and tapping the feet which are in 180 degree line with a two finger gap while in the half sit position (arai mandi) in increasing count from 1-7.

hello i have restarted to learn Bharatanatyam at my 22 yrs now. I really have leg pain and leg fails to keep up with the speed even for thattadavu. what should i do to bring my leg back to normal like from childhood
Try to do smaller sets but consistently everyday rather than longer durations with days apart.. that should help with leg pain.. do include a good warm up routine.. and without fail cool down.. I’ll put up a video for warm up routine that should help with opening up the joints and muscles..
