Its cool that before the more modern Era of Melee, we had displays of the potential of each character within the top 4 characters within the 5 gods. I only got to enjoy him at Summit, G3, and Five Gods, but I enjoyed what he brought to the table It is unfortunate considering the golden age where he could have not only made a decent profit, but built a sizeable platform like most of the top players have for when he would walk away

Back in the era of the 5 gods, Hbox was the god whose status was questioned the most. No one ever questioned PP's status when mang0 and armada were only scared to play him or each other. You never knew when PP was going to pop off. Plus he basically made the modern Falco & Marth neutral games. Falco's fast-fall laser, and Zain-style dash dances are easy examples of this.

At the only super major I’ve been to Genesis 3 I got his autograph super nice a guy and considering how he stopped competing I’m super happy I asked then
I’m so jelly. Genesis 3 was my first major and I wish I had pictures with so many players to look back on. I’ve only ever taken a pic with one top player 😭

i have always wished there was some sort of consolidated timeline made for PPMD, being one of the most loved figures in the scene. i started playing just as he was on his way out competitively, so his elusive, relatively shorter and earlier impact always left me wishing i could have a better scope of the timing and intensity of his reign. seriously, thank you such much for making this video, it is great.
Very happy you enjoyed it! Really appreciate you telling me. I felt a lot of people missed out on pp and only have heard the name etc. I only ever caught the tail end of his career as well since i started in 2014. Glad to do the research on him and watch the vid come to life around him!

The title of your video asks a question that it doesn't answer or attempt to answer. It also doesn't say anything new that hasn't been already many times been said about PP's career.
Did you watch the whole thing? I didn’t say anything really new, as there isn’t anything new to say. He’s been retired since 2016. What else can I say that hasn’t been said? However, I was able to research and centralize that info in a hopefully entertaining way.
The melee God is mang0 don't sleep on the kid. God's are eternal. All the other gods fell off. The only true God of melee is mang0. He is king and will forever be king. Cause while the others left the scene. Mang0 stayed. A God is eternal. The 5 gods right now are mango zain plup amsa and jmook

He's #7 on mine. It's really unfortunate his health didn't hold because I would bet he would have thrown a huge wrench in the Armada Hbox years
@@Hyperion856 oh for sure. One thing I truly believe in is there never would've been people doubting falco in the puff matchup with PP around. His style worked so well on floaties, he was called the floaties slayer for a reason.
I'll 2nd that. He didn't really have any time period where he was super dominant. If he had done better in the years he won apex, I'd be more willing to put him top 5
Mango, Armada, Hbox, Leffen, M2k and Plup and Ken (?) would be above him I’m guessing?
@@Supertaldo916 I have Plup below PP. Mang0, Armada, Hbox, M2K, Ken, Zain, and Leffen are all above him on my list.
Maaaaan, Apex 2015 still gets me fired up.
One of the best tournaments ever!
Wow S2J,Axe and Lucky have all beaten 4 gods that’s insane.
They just couldn’t beat one… armada
When I started to watch Melee I was treated to PP run on apex that was such a ride
Same here! Apex 2015 was one of the first majors I watched!
His peak was the highest peak in melee. Yes even over Armada.
Funny I used to only use mario in smash bros, now I mix it up more.
PPMD's neutral game was crazy
His neutral is fucking insane
I’m never considering Leffen a
5 God.
He never was 😂
I miss this era
Me too! Always fun to look back on though ♥️
oh my FUCKING GOD I LOVE JERAMI CONTENT
JESUS CHRIST
I fucking love you. Thank you 😍
oh i wonder how hax is doing vs ppmd at ML- JESUS CHRIST
@@AlexOfTheYeeFamily LOL
PPMD will always be the GOAT in my book. I always found myself rooting for PPMD whenever he was playing.
He’s hype to watch for sure! I wish I got to see more of him competing, I only caught the tail end
4:43 Just what is going on with Leffen's hair here?
I think he was mid haircut lol
LMAOOO WHAT IS THAT LEFFEN PIC 4:43
It’s a legendary pic lol
I am just wondering, is this video in the style of Launder's cs player's series?
Never seen it! Could he coincidence that it’s similar. I got it based off watching a football video and how they went over retired nfl athletes and how good they actually were
That was the worst photo of Leffen.
Oops
2014 and 2015 don't look that far away, but man really enjoyed watching those sets. I wouldn't say it was peak melee but definitely was a great time to be an spectator!
I miss those times too! Apex 2015 was one of the first majors I watched. Super exciting stuff. Wow
nah he'll come back, well wait it will take time, but he'll come back stack it up
The reason I main falco and Marth. I’ll never do it justice like pp does tho haha
Don’t worry homie. Non of us will. He’s so sick 😂
Me: Ah. Whatever. Never played Smash beyond casual. It's not my thing.
Also me: Must watch every piece of SSBM documentation known to man. 😐
Best of his time for falco
His bird was something else
he's never coming back...,, is he.. ?
@@zekethep1umber probably not 😭
Mango said it best when he said when all the 5 were there in a tourney together only armada mang0 and ppmd won
It was glorious, y’all have no idea
4 stocking M2K multiple times... who does that
The terminator himself. UGS Armada!
4:41 godlike pic
Had to do it to em
really freaking good
He’s so good. And still is 😂
I miss the Era of the Five Gods!
Me too! But we are almost having another gods resurgence!
i have always wished there was some sort of consolidated timeline made for PPMD, being one of the most loved figures in the scene. i started playing just as he was on his way out competitively, so his elusive, relatively shorter and earlier impact always left me wishing i could have a better scope of the timing and intensity of his reign. seriously, thank you such much for making this video, it is great.
Very happy you enjoyed it! Really appreciate you telling me. I felt a lot of people missed out on pp and only have heard the name etc. I only ever caught the tail end of his career as well since i started in 2014. Glad to do the research on him and watch the vid come to life around him!
how will this video affect armada's legacy?
Give me a week and I’ll have another video for ya 👀
my opinion: his falco would be washed in todays meta, sadly. but his marth could prob do it
That doesn't matter, it's how he did in his time that matters
So theres this guy named dr.peepee...
Exactly 😂
Yaaaay! PPMD🔥!! Love your video ❤️
Thank you so much! He needs some love these days
questioning ppds creds just outs you as a child lol
Fucking true that
STACK IT UP!
Such a sick chant
PPMD inspired me to start playing. Also he beat Cody on unranked recently and he barely plays. Yes he could easily be top 10 again.
That’s so hype! I’d love to see him compete again and see how he does. I’m just not sure if we will get that!
PPMDKreygasm
Had to include it of course
@@JeramiJoseph It's the law
@@GarnitrexGaming true that 😂
youre awesome Jerami.
@@Goobermint you’re awesome 😄
holy shit are you KempQ? listen to his voice and tell me it doesnt sound eerily similar lmao
I don’t hear it hahaha. I do love me some RuneScape though. My old tag before switching to my name was Scape though lol. Super cool you saw a connection though
Favorite player of all time
STACK IT UP PPMD ONE OF THE GREATS1
Such a sick chant too!
3:39 D:
“Most tragic moment in smash bros history”
How are you going to call xif XIF lmao the man's an OG and people making videos on him still don't even know his name.
I’d never heard the tag and I went with a guess since a lot of players now go by 3 letter tags like S D J, D S J, etc. guess I was wrong on this one! My b. Is it pronounced “Zif”?
Why did ZeRo wear a scarf all the time?
He doesnt compete with the modern players
Really? I def think he could. Don’t think he’d take a major, but I think he’d do well in todays era
Smith Cynthia Gonzalez Robert Jackson David
Don't damage another crt again or there will be consequences
LOL don’t worry. It was from another video at least 😂
@@JeramiJoseph Yes, I did.
@@incarnate1 hell yeah
Ppmd is good at the game so yeah
PP is my GOAT
He’s fucking sick
The melee God is mang0 don't sleep on the kid. God's are eternal. All the other gods fell off. The only true God of melee is mang0. He is king and will forever be king. Cause while the others left the scene. Mang0 stayed. A God is eternal. The 5 gods right now are mango zain plup amsa and jmook
This is wild
The weakest of the 5 gods of melee. But still an incredible player and melee god.
Put respect on his name
If you watched the video I did
@@JeramiJoseph after clickbaiting yeah
@@nickescobar6786 was this melee god actually good? He was great. A god even! Can’t give any more respect than that 😏
@@JeramiJoseph it was phrased to question if he was good at all, with you getting views from it. Just calling a spade a spade
@@nickescobar6786 I’m not disagreeing with you lol. You just told me to put respect on his name. Which I did 😂 people who never saw pp live who play these days question how good he was and even if he was a melee god. My video answers, yeah he was.
Is this title actually click bait?
Nope! I talk about how good he really was. A lot of new people have gotten into smash since pp was active. I wanted to show that he really was on top with all the other gods dominating back then. Some people today have questioned it which is wild
yes
Hell yeah he was
Very good
He’s insane!
Good? He was incredible.
