The beautiful music of maestro Pleyel has exceeded my expectations! You can't blame me for putting the 'barometer' of my expectations at so high.
Another instance of 'supplying' peace of mind to troubled minds. I am lucky that I don't belong to the category of 'untroubled minds' for whom enjoying music is uncalled for!

As a Jane Austen fan, I started listening to Pleyel after I found out she liked his music too. Lovely melodies.

More deserves to be known about Pleyel, not only as a composer but also as an astute musical enterpreneur. Flush with financial success from musical enterprises in London, he settled into a chateau in France just as the Terror of the French Revolution was unfolding in 1792.
According to Wikipedia “…With the onset of the Reign of Terror in 1793 and 1794, life in France became dangerous for many, not excluding Pleyel. He was brought before the Committee of Public Safety a total of seven times due to the following: his foreign status, his recent purchase of a château, and his ties with the Strasbourg Cathedral.[13] He was subsequently labeled a Royalist collaborator. The outcome of the committee's attentions could easily have been imprisonment or even execution. With prudent opportunism, Pleyel preserved his future by writing compositions in honor of the new republic. All were written in Strasbourg at times surrounding the Terror.”
Pleyel in later life founded a piano-manufacturing firm in Paris, an enterprise that was continued by his descendants.

Well done, sir. I've also heard his music plays well, though I'm not sure it pays well to play it.
