Woo! Go Ryan! I went to URBN nearly a month ago and I absolutely love going there. It's like going to the gym; it's a controlled environment where you work on your development. The ocean is where you get to show off all that work. I'm a beginner female doing this journey of learning to surf on my own. I really appreciate the consistency of the waves, the comfort of having a wave to myself and not having to jostle for one (which can be intimidating for a beginner to navigate), plus the safety of the life guards, surf guides and coaches watching out for me. I think in the last month I've achieved more than I have in the three months I've been going down to the beach. It's also a lot of fun and the community there is really great. I absolutely agree there are important skills that are only developed in the ocean, and I eventually want to have a balance between doing my 'work out' and putting that work into practice. But being able to focus on just surfing while I'm there is really helpful in my progress.
Great insight into the wave pool, as a kiwi I watch and think one day I'll go, but it's a huge commitment and cost on the hope it's what I expect. Glad I now no it's worth it. Thanks 🤙
Great insight on something I've always wanted to try, but felt like it wasn't worth the money and drive time. Quick info: anyone living in Europe might want to consider Alaia Bay in Sion, Switzerland before flying all over the way to Australia 🦘

Well said Amelia, it certainly is a game changer for surfers!

Worth it if you are in Australia and can make it work! I would squeeze multiple sessions in and try some different wave types if possible.
Have you noticed an improvement in your turns and connecting them in the ocean after visiting the wavepool?
Great question. Short answer is yes.

Not sure where you are from mate, but if you are in the area it is worth it.
