Same, i always look for books based on the cover because my tastes are very particular and the cover kind of gives me an idea of what I'm getting into.
@@isobelmay4544on a technical note: yes, there was a plot. But i also know what you mean. The book is far more character driven than plot driven although it does give you a very straight forward story of the sisters growing up. And that’s it. That’s the only story beat. Their trials and tribulations of growing up in that time period. But the book isn’t really about what happens next or not, its about the characters. The way everything was described, the way that each character in the story felt like their own person and the fact that when you finish the novel you feel like you lived with them. That’s what the book is about really.
@@isobelmay4544 I think that’s what I kinda love about it. There’s nothing super crazy happening. It’s just a story about a family going through life together (in this case during war) This book isn’t just about little girls becoming little women. It shows a family struggling but struggling together nonetheless There are times of sadness, poverty, and grief, and through it all there is still warmth that lives amongst the family. This book shows a family that has little and still gives to those who have nothing. And sure they’re an amazing family but they aren’t portrayed as perfect they still have times where they fight or do the wrong thing. But they keep each other accountable and always in the end stay together. There are so many books that have broken/divided families in them. This book is different. It’s about a family going through and withstanding the trials of life together. Little Women is about the love a family. Not through blood but by heart.
I accidentally skipped through the last chapters of Little Women because i got a bit bored with it and I regret doing that because I spoiled 2 humongous events 😭😭😭
Lol I would love to see you read Les Miserables. Love the musical but never read the book because it's so thick (even though I love classics but never dared to read les mis)
I did read the book and I recommend it so much. Please read it. I promise you do not feel how thick it is because you fly through the pages, it is sooo good
There’s an abridged you can read! It cuts out a lot of the story, but it’s still very good and is a good alternative if you want to read it but not spend that much time
Yes! That’s exactly what I was going to say! Some people hate me when I say that but it does come with be if it’s. Sometimes the blurb on the back gives away stuff
read le miserables my sister read it and loved it, i love it too. It took my sister less than three days to read the exact version that you have!!!!! i bet you can too!!!!! love you Haley!!!!
Incase anyone is wondering what all the books are in the video here is all the titles of them and the authors! ●Heartbreak For Hire *by Sonia Hartl* ●The Hole Were In *by Gabrielle Zevin* ●The Spectacular *by Fiona Davis* ●Tom Lake *by Ann Patchett* ●Pineapple Street *by Jenny Jaclson* ●Hello Beautiful *by Ann Napolitano* ●Les Misérables *by Victor Hugo* ●Little Woman *by Louisa May Alcott*
You know if you have 1000 or more books you have a library! Well I believe that you have at least 1000 books so I would like to see if you do. Can you please make a video and count your books?
I think I’m the only dingus who buys those gigantic hardbacks to actually read them. Just finished the Barnes and noble exclusive of les miserables after a million years lmao
LES MISERABLES!!!! i’m in the play rn. the first 200 pgs r hard to get through bc it’s a lot of info in the french revolution but after that it’s so so so good
I dont know anything about star wars, but i am a big nerd when it come to character arcs but with that brief explanation and context for andor and that "never more than 12" gave me chills
Yessss move to Brooklyn!! Sleep quality is so important. Ans Manhattan is still right there. Also i see the soccer-mom-running-errands-vision for you. Driving, grocery stores, drive thrus, etc. Gotta love them!
As an artist, the cover is the most important part of a book for me. I scan the books by aesthetics. If the cover is not appealing, I won’t even bother picking the book up to read the back.
little women is SO FREAKIN GOOD
I was literally about to comment on Little Women! Such a good book.
That book killed me
I love that book smm
it’s amazing
what is it about
As a bibliophile and a designer, I ALWAYS judge a book by its cover. No shame. That’s what a good cover design is for.
Same! If they can’t produce a good cover design, I have little faith in the book.
Same, i always look for books based on the cover because my tastes are very particular and the cover kind of gives me an idea of what I'm getting into.
EXACTLYYYY
If I see a book that's just a random item with the title, the title with a pattern, or just the title on a blank color, i am not reading that...
Ya I love designs it draws me to the book and makes me want to read it more. I usually don't look at books with covers I dislike
I love watching Haley review books. It’s like I’m adding to my tbr but also getting great entertainment
That’s weird but same
me too
Agreed!
I COOMIT THAT CRIME
Little women was actually so good except it was so sad. I was on the verge of tears during the movie too 😭
Only time I've shed physical tears in the movie theater 😂
THAT LITTLE WOMEN COVER IS SO PRETTY
Fr I'm collecting all of the old classics books with those covers
Read Little Women this year. Literally the best book of all time! Had me drowning in tears multiple times.
Same. I cried so many times but that poem about Beth made me ball my eyes out 😭
I found it boring. No Offence but what fid you like about it. I just felt like there wasn't really a plot to it.

Lol I would love to see you read Les Miserables. Love the musical but never read the book because it's so thick (even though I love classics but never dared to read les mis)

Omg so ✨aesthetic✨
My mom hates spoilers so she only picks books based on the cover or if a friend tells her she should read it
LES MIS IS SO GOOD CUZ THERES A MUSICAL BASED OFF THE BOOK
There’s a bookstore in Greenville that does “blind dates” and wrap the books and give a very quick summary of the book and I think it’s awesome
Little woman!!!!! It’s my fav and I have the whole series that I read a million times!!!
I THOUGHT SHE SAID “I’m gonna be committing one of the biggest war crimes” and I was like HUH😟
I litterally just got that exact same les mis book today at barnes and noble!!
Little women I've heard it's great, my favorite author always makes her characters read it
Heartbreak for hire is so goooddddd😍😍
nah but the ones with good cover designs always have good stories idk why 😭
The covers and titles guide me to the books, but then I read the back and maybe flip through it to find good ones
Looks like I commit a crime every time I go to the library😂😂
i should do this!! it looks so fun!
The times i have picked books by the cover, which is every book I've read, i really loved them.
LITTLE WOMAN I read It and it’s so good
HONESTLY “don’t judge a book by its cover” applies to EVERYTHING but books
