This was such a unique and in depth eye exam. I enjoyed how you gave detail to the physiology of the eye, as well as blocked each eye for tests, did the different colored lights. Your set looked like a real optometry office. Made it feel more realistic. I enjoyed your take on it as well as how it had a sense of mystery. Thanks for the amazing video.

Ooh I love asmr videos like this! Roleplays that make the viewer feel unique and special lmao. Is it weird that I completely forgot that the red eye photo thing was a common occurrence? Seems like it doesn’t really happen much anymore.
A lot of the newer cameras and software automatically fix it.
inconspicuous dame, yeah, since 2010 and earlier, cameras would turn the flash on for a few seconds before a second flash for low light photos so your pupils contract, and you don’t get red eyes.

Yes you don't see it anymore. I think the majority of my childhood photo's I have red eye haha How crazy that it's become so rare to see it nowadays that we actually forgot it happens. In the future people wont even know it ever happened
@sbcontt YT Pretty sure its cause the flash illuminates the back of your retina. Which is red. After all, your pupils are actually holes, which just appear black because of their small size and the fact that there is almost never enough light going in them to bounce back showing a color. Camera flashes are quick, before the eye closes up to prevent damage, and red eye is usually visible in low-light settings, where your eyes are more dilated to take in more light.

According to the University of Queensland in Australia, mantis shrimps could even be able to see cancer. They have the most complex eyes ever discovered yet.
They also are formidable hunters, "smasher" types mantis shrimps can hit their preys with the same force and speed of a bullet. Its so fast that it makes the water around their limb boil, and the pression it creates is powerful enough to shatter the shells of their preys underwater, it can even break glass. Mantis shrimps are fascinating animals.

Here's the cool thing: I'm actually tetrachromatic, and it's funny to see how people react when I have "super color vision" as my graphic arts teacher calls it.

How do you know you are a tetrachromat? I am curious because based on what I read this field is still very much in its infancy and extremely difficult to study due to the subjective color-perception of individuals. Even the possibility of 4 cones was just a hypothesis for the better part of the 20th century and scientifically speaking the existence of functional tetrachromacy was only proved in 2007 where researchers in Newcastle found ONE woman with a functional 4th cone and an increased range of color vision ... and that took them over 20 years.
Oh wow! I had no idea that was a thing! Do you see things outside of the usual human vision spectrum, like ultraviolet like certain insects see, or can you just distinguish between colors that most humans can see much better than anyone else? Like if you had a cone whose color zone is set between that of the other cones? Like being able to distinguish certain degrees of green and blue much clearer than anyone else?
With the studies that people are doing on tetrachromacy, there are now tests that people can take if they're curious.

Gianmarco Zanol how do you know we all see the same color? I've always asked myself that question, if I see blue, how do I know the other person seems the same blue I'm seeing? Even though we might associate the tone that we see equally blue, we can still see it differently.
That’s hard to assess but if you have color perception limitations and you work in a field heavily reliant on seeing color... it will become abundantly clear how you stand out from the herd. 😞
Soul I’ve always thought, unless you’re colorblind, most people see basically the same color. I’ve always thought that maybe certain colors are more or less intense depending on the person, but it’s not a drastic difference. I think like it’s similar to how we taste things, like spice can be more or less strong depending on the person. Idk if that’s true or not, but it’s kind of my theory. I don’t know a whole not about eyes though.
I remember taking this test back in grade school. It wasn't this relaxing.

Not familiar with blind spot tests but the color ones work the same on YT. 😩 Have checked.
Depending on how big or close the screen is, it does work. I don't remember which video it was, but I once watched a cranial nerve exam or eye exam where you had to focus on the middle of her face (as it was in the middle of the screen) and the ASMRtist was moving her finger slowly from side to side horizontally, asking the viewer to tell her when the spot appeared and disappeared.
As long as your blind spot is within the screen of the device you're watching YT on, it works wonders for you tingles. :)

Favorite parts are the up close whispering, it's the only time I get tingles anymore.
Tip: if you don't get tingles how you used to, give yourself a few days, close to a week if you're really willing, to rest your ears and brain. After this rest is over, you should definitely get tingles again from whatever you got them from before!

@@skeetsmcgrew3282 Yes, because I've been there, I get there often. I use ASMR to sleep every night snd sometimes I just need to not listen to ASMR for a day and it cures my tingle immunity. That's, of course, if the "cure your tingle immunity" videos don't want to work for you

When I was I underweight, I could barely get out of bed or walk. I was sick all the time. I was dizzy all the time. You don’t want to be underweight.

I actually had a friend who was able to see ultraviolet light for a time after having eye surgery (I think it was lasik) . I've looked it up and that has happened to a few other people in the same situation. I think it had something to do with the surgery effecting the lens of the eye. He apparently had it when pretty young and only realized it was a thing when a teacher was showing something involving infrared light in class and he was seeing something the light after the teacher mentioned humans aren't able to. He also said photography looked odd to him because outdoors had a slight purplish tint that never showed up in photos. His eyes eventually went back to normal though.
