I just want to thank you. In the past couple months I have learned more from your videos than i did from all the other videos iv watched and books iv read in the previous year. Its really cool that you make videos for individuals who have questions. Like this video. Nobody else does that. I asked Ryuu about how to make the front part of a drone. He just said "i dont make things that already exist in the world buddy." So I asked you and you made a whole video for it. Which helped so much. (He now makes things using references that exist in the world.......lol)
Nothing against Ryu but his models look like a bunch of blockouts, they are basically all primitives with some Boolean here and there, he has an extremely limited workflow (and that's why he's probably moving towards Plasticity). I know for sure that Colin 3d, PzThree, the creator of hard ops box cutter (he has a RUclips channel), grant Abbitt, Arijan, Derek Elliott and so on would be able to model a car or other more advanced objects. I don't think Ryu or Josh are. If you notice they don't have something like a PS5 controller or other mesh with tricky components, it's all cubes, cylinders and spheres.
I love the videos but I personally prefer to see you use Screencast Keys. I've been using Blender for years but I'm a noob to sculpting to I have no idea what you pressed to invoke the retopology "Plane" (for lack of a better word) at 2:05.
Screen cast tends to miss a lot of things which is why I don't use it. It wouldn't miss that one however which is "R". I try my best to respond on the comments but discord works too.
what about using quad remesher to do this model or complex topos? or even using Retopoflow 3 plugin to help you retopo faster than just manually ? thanks for your tips and methods keep it up!
Quadremesher doesn't create a proper edgeflow most of the times so the models won't really be suited for subdivision since it will be almost impossible to create holding edges, etc.. Of course the mesh will still subdivide nicely, so if you don't need holding edges that will work as well. These meshes should still be suitable to bake from, etc.. That is the case at least from my understanding of these kind of remeshers. Retopoflow is a really great retopolgy addon which speeds up the process by a ton, but again it's still manual ;). Hope this helps. Cheers. Edit: For everyone that may be reading this comment. PzThree made a follow-up video discussing this very topic, so definetly check that out.
Great vid as usual. Have you tried using the free addon polyquilt yet. Or try a comparison of free addon polyquilt vs. retopoflow vs. quad remesher paid addons yet? That would be a great vid in the future. 😊
Sometimes a good old "Edit Mode>Box Select>Scale>Axis>0" is the easiest way to flatten an area. Especially at lower resolutions.
Dude, I love the way you make your videos. I always find new stuff to do and improve here. thank you so much men !! :D
I've been doing retopology on a full human skeletal model I sculpted the past while and stumbled across this. Thanks for the tips.

@@user_xyz948 thanks for your response! I will look into Retopoflow more!

how do you navigate the viewport while using the tablet?
Assign a barrel button to middle mouse click and still use the keyboard.
When I see video like this I don't believe in AI😂😂😂
I'm fine with AI doing retopology for me, happy even
