Some people just don’t like Brock and because of that they will do anything they can to find any level of fault. Bottom line is that he’s a fantastic young man, humble, skilled, hard working and sincere. He is the epitome of a great young qb in this league…
Your videos show the difference between someone with the experience and knowledge of the game, the KNOW, vs the talking heads on national television who are there only for SHOW
Right on CHASE! Great video and commentary from you. Purdy was the real MVP in 2022. Mahomes was injured in the playoff game a couple of years and his replacement QB still won the game (Andy Reid.). But last year when Purdy was injured his replacement (running QB) could not generate any offense at all, despite the media telling us that Purdy is successful because of ALL the talent around him. The media was/is wrong about BROCK PURDY! And CHASE IS CORRECT!
"...Purdy was the real MVP in 2022..." WOW! Just brush-off the trade that brought CMC to the Niner's and how his addition immediately increased the points-per-game by almost a TD...and gave Shanahan a bonafide STUD to become a dual-threat out of the backfield...!!!
I don't care what the national narrative is and what they do or don't want to credit him with: Brock is the best QB the 49ers have had since Young. I've been watching every snap of the 49ers since the late Montana era, and this is just different. Garcia was pretty good, Smith had his moments late, Kap was a flash in the pan, Garoppolo was decent when healthy, but none of them are the all around baller of Purdy. The poise, accuracy, anticipation, elusiveness, processing, spiral, footwork... it's textbook. I'm not saying he will have Montana's accomplishments, but he REMINDS me of Joe with the way he plays.
It's so much FUN to watch him play, especially when he gets off the scripts, trying to extend the plays. Nothing to faze him even his interceptions; he just comes back learning from his mistakes, playing better. Awesome!
No doubt. He's already very good! It's clear as day. All that is left is for him to play a decade and let's hope Super Bowls and he WILL be one of the very greatest. The kid if FIRE! Anyone who tells you differently at this point is selling a rotten bag of goods.
I think nobody wants to give Brock respect because he was Mr Irrelevant. Praising him means admitting that they aren't good judges of who should be drafted first.
Lifelong SF fan and I am tellin you right now, this looks like the early days of Joe Montana, this kid looks that good. I don't know if SF has the cap space to hold this group together, frankly I doubt it, but if they can keep the core of it together for a couple years they will be a legit Superbowl threat as long as they can hold that core together.
This doesn't look like the early days of Montana. In 1979 & 1980 Montana was garbage. This looks like Montana after he had been in the league for 6 years.
Love the videos and breakdowns Chase! Steve Young just called Brock and elite processor and isn’t that what we all want from our QB’s? What you highlight dismisses the narrative that he’s being carried by his weapons and the scheme. He’s executing his part of the offense almost to perfection (this game he was based on QB Rating 😂), which allows for his weapons and scheme to be operating optimally. Without accurate throws, proper reads, and processing what the defense is giving him, the weapons we have on offense wouldn’t be able to be as effective in the YAC department, nor would Kyle be opening it up as much as he has down the field. Brock ain’t no “Dink-n-Dunk” guy. Bad games are going to happen, but it doesn’t discredit 15 other games of spectacular play. Love seeing these videos brotha!
Coaches protect a young QB by their play calling and protection schemes, making simple reads. But we are not seeing that from Shanny, we are seeing the full offense
Deep dive into the stat sheet: Brock Purdy had more passing yards (333) and passing touchdowns (3) and a higher Rating (158.3) and QBR (79.8) than both Mahomes and Hurts combined in the Monday night game (327 yards, 2 TD, 136.2 rating, 79.6 QBR COMBINED!)
Just want to say..17:50 seconds for all these dummies who say he's got no arm. That TD pass was a dime in Stride to Aiyuk, and it was 45 Air Yards. He's done it before, and he will do it again.
Shannon Sharpe the other day said he just throws 5 yard passes and lets the team do the work. Which is weird because he's leading or n air yards per attempt, #1 in yards per completion. Then Stephen A says something about how his QBr for last week was less than whoever but for the season he's #1 in QBr, #1 in QB rating, #2 20+ yd passes, #4 in 40+ yd passes, #1 in TD%, #4 in passing yds, top 10 in TDs, top 5 ints, top 5 competition% etc. Wtf does he have to do?
What does he have to do? Play for the Cowboys, so guaranteed ratings whether the team's winning or sucking, everyone is tuning in to hear you talk about the Cowboys. Whether we like it or not, nothing has been better for their ratings (First Take and First Thing's first) than hating on Purdy. It's weird, yeah? Once upon a time America rooted for the underdog. They made movies about things like that: Bad News Bears, Rookie of the Year, Little Giants, etc. In 2023, America would be more entertained watching the under dog get euthanized 🤦🏻♂️
Shannon and Zach Gelb and Nick Wright were dismissing Purdy even before he did anything wrong. They kept it going by talking about the "small sample size" - when they don't say that about other 2nd year quarterbacks. It's like they won't admit they were wrong.
He doesn’t have the right look and isnt classified as a dual threat and he was a nobody in college. They ain’t gonna give him his flowers until they have to.
Watching live play, Purdy looks good, but I think to myself during the game -" see, it's not that hard". . Watching breakdowns like this, things look different, it's ridiculous or almost impossibly good - the decisions and the throws both. There is so little margin for error that I start to think a person shouldn't be able to do this - not consistently play after play. No wonder his success is often downplayed. Not only is he Mr Irrelevant - a fact he can never change, but he makes it look like quarterbacking is natural and it's just an easy game and an easy position to play - so what's the big deal. He could get hurt like before, and the detractors will say, " see, I told you..." But I hope he stays healthy and gets the chance to show them.
Thank you for admitting this. This is why I say only qb’s and athletes who have tried playing qb before can really understand how hard some of the things he is doing is. Firstly Purdy hits the most layered throws in the middle of the field I’ve ever seen, if those are a little short it gets tipped or picked and if they are too long it gets picked and if it’s just a little long and your Receiver has to go up and get it he can easily get hurt. Purdy is a really good qb and this is coming from an Aaron Rodgers fan so I know what good qb play and accuracy looks like, all Purdy need to do now and go ask Tom Brady how he got his arm stronger and then implement some of that
@@laserhawk221 exactly. Even Montana didn’t layer like this. And we didn’t wait until he won his first SB before we called him special. The fanbase was 100% rallied around him after the catch.
Really enjoy your breakdowns. You explain it clearly and give credit where credit is due. All these talking heads that say Purdy is a system qb are idiots. They do not want to let facts confuse their preconceived opinions.
Every qb is a system qb, you have to know how to run the system and make those plays. That's what makes me laugh when you hear trolls like nick wrong talk shit. It's such lazy reporting by these main stream media hacks
Love This - Personally, if 9ers-v-Chiefs in the big game... and Purdy plays like this in a win... can't wait to ask 'First Things First Nick' about how good Purdy really is?
If anyone is a system qb it’s Jalen hurts he’s not putting up the numbers Brock is Brock deserves the mvp just based on the fact this is his first full season starting and he’s making it look easy
What really annoys me is about this MVP business, is that he came in late last season so he was robbed of Rookie of the Year, Damar Hamlin is a lock for Comeback Player of the Year despite barely playing so Purdy won't get that award either, and he's just constantly dismissed as a possible MVP no matter how well he plays. I suspect Purdy is far less annoyed about it than I am, but it's frustrating.
Nice breakdown on certain plays. First time watching your videos and I have a better understanding on football play formations. I’m definitely subscribing.
Brock is performing at this level despite playing behind the 28th ranked pass blocking O-line in the NFL. Jalen Hurts is playing behind a top 5 pass blocking O-line and Purdy is outperforming him in every passing stat
It's so crazy to watch. Eyes always get drawn to him because he's so dangerous with the football in his hands. They know it's going to take at least 2 defenders to bring him down after first contact because he's so freakishly strong in stride. It creates so many man to man matchups and mismatches all over the place. When you get a LB defending CMC or god forbid Aiyuk, good luck.
I agree 100%! Brock Purdy has that certain way about him, he sometimes reminds me of a QB I watched back in the 80's. When Joe Montana was drafted by the 49ers back in 78', I remember his body language and the way Montana spoke back then, Brock Pudry is the same way... Hope it turns out the same...
Should be MVP frontrunner right now. If any other "Top" QB had the stats he has, they'd be favourite for the award. He's not the only QB in the league with weapons....Tua, Hurts, Herbert, Burrow all have better WR combos..Hurts has the best OL in the league to but they aren't playing at Purdy's level. Those throws over the middle in between defenders need to be accurate or else it's a pick...Purdy has seemingly mastered layered throws at all 3 levels already.
Claiming Purdy is only successful because of the system at this point is disrespectful to every QB who's ever played in the NFL. It's like saying anyone can put a perfect game.
The “hate” directed at Brock by much of the media, is designed to pander to the fan bases of the other 31 teams. All of which are upset that of all teams to find a generational quarterback with the last pick, why did it have to be the 49ers. It’s an embarrassment of riches.. It’s like the NY Yankees, in there glory years. Fashionable to hate em and hope they fail. 21:43
Great analysis video! It's funny that a couple of times you said "you never want to" about some of the routes run. That's the 49s thing! They draw up plays that football knowlege says you shouldn't do and it throws off the D. Purdy throwing is a beautiful thing to watch.
It's always interesting that people who know football can recognize what Purdy is doing well, (and things he could do better) but "journalists' who probably bet all their money on the first round picks keep on talking him down.
Great video Chase keep leading the Purdy hype train it drives me nuts listening to all the talking heads and there takes it is so far from the truth it’s ridiculous keep it up man
Its crazy how some people read and listen to mainstream "analysts" who don't even seem to watch the games but x pros like Chase, JT and even hall of famer Kurt Warner praise Brock and people don't hear or listen. 😅 But i do like that he's underrated, Brock fits the role well and wishing him continued success. Its great to be a Niner fan right now!
I'm telling you BA is the X-factor on this team period! His route running is amazing & very disciplined! This kid knows how to get separation truly! The only problem I've seen with Brock is the snap or quick throws with pop! His balls kinda drifts at times which can lead to very bad things. Too much air can also give defenders that split second to create havoc or give his receiver a punishing hit! Just would like to see more zip going forward! Another problem I see is O-line protection, defenses are getting too much penetration initially which causes things to happen much quicker & less processing time for Brock which he's handled nicely but in big games that's going to cause problems like the frekkin Brown's game I still can't stomach that lost to the paper bag Brown's 😠😫but they're defense definitely got the better of us & we've got to tighten that up going forward! But yes Brock looks good but in a dog fight can he prevail I mean putting the team on his shoulders & going to work that's what I want to see! Let's Go Niners! #thereal49erfaithful #lucky13thekiddpurdy
People like you have too many excuses...Brock Purdy is just as good as Jalen Hurts who wasn't having as good a year last year as Brock is this year and biased national media was screaming for "MVP." Jalen had a much better O line as well as AJ Brown who is a better WR then Aiyuk.
Bro no doubt, without Trent Williams in the lineup, the 49ers have one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL. I can't think of a QB who wouldn't have had as hard of a time against the NFLs best defense with THAT particular O line that day, and yet, Purdy still took them within striking range of a game winning 40yd field goal. Our Rookie kicker hits that, and the narrative shifts to Purdy can bring our team back during the pressure of being behind in the 4th. I'll remind you that Mahomes collapsed under pressure against the most recent Eagles Defense and he has a far superior O Line and was playing at home. As far as I'm concerned, Purdy proved it under the harshest of environmental, injury, away game and overcoming his own poor performance throughout the game, conditions to pull it all together...but the kicker blew it. As for the Vikings, he looked damn good, prior to the concussion. Against the Bengals, he threw for 365yds and rushed for 57yrds, which was more than CMC that game. The amount of overall team errors (like penalties) also factored in, and despite the mistakes Purdy made on some plays (missed handoff, etc) he was still balling. So yeah, the Mr Irrelevant Tax is real for everyone casually watching what Purdy does every game. What's more likely: a) putting up perfect passer ratings that haven't been done in the franchise since 1989, and never with 20 or fewer attempts, is pure luck because anyone with those skill players and head coach could do the same Or b) the scouts all fucked up on this draft. Their continued focus on physical stats that mirror attributes of proven successful QBs like Mahomes, vs a larger sample size of game processing despite those same natural physical gifts, is becoming a recipe for watering down the league with physical specimens instead of actual quality football players. It's "b" by the way, which factors into Tom Brady's assertion recently that "there is a lot of mediocrity in today's NFL"
They head to head where Dak didn't have 3 key players on offense and our defense dropped 3 INTs in hand?. Or the one Dallas didn't really try but one drive and Dak lit them up? And they were missing an all pro CB. Seriously though.. If they meet again.. Dallas will win handedly.
Can you do one on Hurts? Not sure, other than record, why his name is at the top of MVP list. Not saying that to put him down, he is obviously great... but i really want to see his breakdown because i dont know.
The naysayers never watch this type of breakdown Same with Tua All they ever see is the one long pass mostly not made by guys with big arms and are impressed
There's a new term in the 49er faithful Football vocabulary, and it's called "Draftism," a term used by someone judging a football player by their draft position.🙏🤣

Wow amazing Brock is so underrated
Some people just don’t like Brock and because of that they will do anything they can to find any level of fault. Bottom line is that he’s a fantastic young man, humble, skilled, hard working and sincere. He is the epitome of a great young qb in this league…
*Cough cough* Shannon and nick wright
That deep ball to Aiuk was as good as it gets on a throw … has his speed timed and gets it to him on the run in that tight window .
Your videos show the difference between someone with the experience and knowledge of the game, the KNOW, vs the talking heads on national television who are there only for SHOW
Aiyuk is an elite route runner, consistently getting the defender turned around.
Mahomes was injured a couple of years AGO. (correction)
"...Purdy was the real MVP in 2022..."
WOW! Just brush-off the trade that brought CMC to the Niner's and how his addition immediately increased the points-per-game by almost a TD...and gave Shanahan a bonafide STUD to become a dual-threat out of the backfield...!!!
@@itzanopinion Nobody skipped yer boy. We speak the facts.
I’m from the UK and love watching American Football but I don’t have a brilliant understanding of the game. Your videos are helping me learn so much.
Agree.
Awesome!
He is reminiscent of "Joe Cool" and I sincerely hope he gets to be up there with Joe Montana when all is said and done.
No doubt. He's already very good! It's clear as day. All that is left is for him to play a decade and let's hope Super Bowls and he WILL be one of the very greatest. The kid if FIRE! Anyone who tells you differently at this point is selling a rotten bag of goods.
Is Aiyuk a Top 10 receiver in your opinion?
9ers really need to make sure they keep Aiyuk
I think nobody wants to give Brock respect because he was Mr Irrelevant. Praising him means admitting that they aren't good judges of who should be drafted first.
Lifelong SF fan and I am tellin you right now, this looks like the early days of Joe Montana, this kid looks that good. I don't know if SF has the cap space to hold this group together, frankly I doubt it, but if they can keep the core of it together for a couple years they will be a legit Superbowl threat as long as they can hold that core together.
Purdy is in the 2nd year of his contract, and he’ll have 2 more years after this season. The Super Bowl window is open for this team
Core is set for 2-3 years. Like the comment above said. Only question is, can we keep BA and Chase Young?
This doesn't look like the early days of Montana. In 1979 & 1980 Montana was garbage. This looks like Montana after he had been in the league for 6 years.
@@avet4521 right? Everyone thinks/says Montana was awesome at the beginning of his career. Lol!
Love seeing these videos brotha!
man the beginning had me thinking my right headphone was going out had me checking wires and stuff then boom came back on the cut.....
Coaches protect a young QB by their play calling and protection schemes, making simple reads. But we are not seeing that from Shanny, we are seeing the full offense
I'm learning so much from your channel about different routes like the macaroni route, knee route, axel route, lung route, etc. All very interesting!
Folks must be blind if you think Brock isn’t a huge upgrade on JG
Jimmy G String
Deep dive into the stat sheet: Brock Purdy had more passing yards (333) and passing touchdowns (3) and a higher Rating (158.3) and QBR (79.8) than both Mahomes and Hurts combined in the Monday night game (327 yards, 2 TD, 136.2 rating, 79.6 QBR COMBINED!)
I like how you explain and illustrate the plays. I appreciate it. Purdy is amazing!
I watched jimmy miss that ayiuk go ball route a million times over the last 5 years
Great Stuff Chase, especially coming from a 14 yr NFL QB who's been around for a minute.
You actually think Shannon watches the games? Lmao
He doesn’t have the right look and isnt classified as a dual threat and he was a nobody in college. They ain’t gonna give him his flowers until they have to.
@@jamesnelson8469 literally all 3 points you just made are completely false lmao
A good QB makes playing the position look easy. We all know it's hard to play QB well in the NFL...if someone makes it look simple...they are special
Montana 2.0 seen this since game 1
MVPURDY
AYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
YES! Let's make it trend!
@@Shenanigans57: Agree.
I don’t know if I have ever seen a WR as open as Deebo is at 19:44. There literally isn’t a defender within 15 yards of him. Lol
Guess you've never watched Kelce or tyreek. They're always wide open and sometimes by a mile
Brock is just a young man, amazing to say the least.
This kid is truly unreal. 😎
I really enjoy watch Brock play football. His a pure baller and the baby face assassin!
When you’re on a popular team you are bound to get criticized much more.
Nice breakdown on certain plays. First time watching your videos and I have a better understanding on football play formations. I’m definitely subscribing.
Great breakdown, Chase! I can definitely see why the channel is growing so fast 💨
Agreed 💯 on MVP talk. Purdy should be the MVP no questions ask or if’s or but’s about it…
"Presents down the chimney". Merry Christmas, Brandon!
Brock is performing at this level despite playing behind the 28th ranked pass blocking O-line in the NFL. Jalen Hurts is playing behind a top 5 pass blocking O-line and Purdy is outperforming him in every passing stat
If the O-line can keep Purdy healthy, he'll be the first Niners QB selected to the pro bowl since Jeff Garcia. Haters gonna hate.
Would love to see a breakdown of how Deebo gets the receivers open.
Wait, wait, wait..... are you telling me ..... Purdy doesn't just throw 5 yard passes..... but the media said that's all he does..... 😒
I just don't know how anyone can say this kid isn't good. Im looking at you Nike "the click" Wright!
Herbert has better wideouts? Keenan Allen would be SF’s #3.
"Already going...Good luck" LOL
Quick decision-making, quick reads, perfect spiral, catch-able ball, a baller!
Claiming Purdy is only successful because of the system at this point is disrespectful to every QB who's ever played in the NFL. It's like saying anyone can put a perfect game.
Great analysis!
young Brock.... is a young Montana.... in the making. 💯
Wow bro love your breakdowns. You got a new follower
Jimmy never had 3 td’s back to back. Or had a perfect passer rating. Or led the league in multiple stats.
Cant argue with anything, Always loved your work, and was a huge fan of yours being a Missouri Native
You didn’t mention how heads up McCaffrey is on that first play, seeing the d-end drop and whipping his head around to then go stonewall the backer.
It's always interesting that people who know football can recognize what Purdy is doing well, (and things he could do better) but "journalists' who probably bet all their money on the first round picks keep on talking him down.
Great video Chase keep leading the Purdy hype train it drives me nuts listening to all the talking heads and there takes it is so far from the truth it’s ridiculous keep it up man
Is it coincidence that all of those that were trash talking Purdy while the team lost a few games, are now quite as a church mouse?
Its crazy how some people read and listen to mainstream "analysts" who don't even seem to watch the games but x pros like Chase, JT and even hall of famer Kurt Warner praise Brock and people don't hear or listen. 😅 But i do like that he's underrated, Brock fits the role well and wishing him continued success. Its great to be a Niner fan right now!
He’s gone full circle. Yeah he’s legit
Possibly if Brock had a cannon for an arm there's a chance he'd never have learned to throw the ball over defenders like this
What 😂
@@ClutchGene Colin Kaepernick never learned how to put touch on his passes because he relied on his rifle of an arm
Yes! Only way Brock can succeed is to stay ahead of the situation. He has to win with his mind since he’s no Josh Allen. Paraphrasing Steve Young
So Brock purdy is leading the league in deep throws so ....yea...
@@johnofmalta For Purdy to come up to Allen's level, he will have to throw a few more INT.
i’m begging someone to watch this x0.5 speed… sounds like bro ona good one

What's more likely:
a) putting up perfect passer ratings that haven't been done in the franchise since 1989, and never with 20 or fewer attempts, is pure luck because anyone with those skill players and head coach could do the same
Or
b) the scouts all fucked up on this draft.
Brock Purdy, NFC Offensive Player of the Week! Congratulations Brock.
Same play set for Jennings against the browns but Jennings couldn't get to the spot. Kittle did.
Brock Purdy is that good and he will only continue to get better. Plus this is only his first year starting.
Compare Brocks game ro Dak Prescotts game against the Bucs in the playoffs last year while they had Tom Brady. Serious ask
Nothing at all serious about that ish champ. Just refer to the game they played head to head for evidence
It’s truly the most cowboy fan comment I’ve ever seen in my life
They head to head where Dak didn't have 3 key players on offense and our defense dropped 3 INTs in hand?.
Or the one Dallas didn't really try but one drive and Dak lit them up? And they were missing an all pro CB.
Seriously though.. If they meet again.. Dallas will win handedly.
The first anticipated throw layered over Linebackers is all you need to know about how good Purdy is
Josh Allen never makes throw like that
Neither does Lamar, Jalen, who are also considered "-elite.:
All the great ones make it look easy. That is a fact.
I thought my right airpod was out 😓
Can you do one on Hurts? Not sure, other than record, why his name is at the top of MVP list. Not saying that to put him down, he is obviously great... but i really want to see his breakdown because i dont know.
Everyone know Hurts is really good and an elite QB, not much to show.
@16:00….watching live, I was hoping he was firing over the top to CMC
The naysayers never watch this type of breakdown
Same with Tua
All they ever see is the one long pass mostly not made by guys with big arms and are impressed
Didn’t Steve young do the same? But yeah, agree, dudes epic!
New viewer here. Got me with the title ngl 😅
Great analysis
This is amazing
There's a new term in the 49er faithful Football vocabulary, and it's called "Draftism," a term used by someone judging a football player by their draft position.🙏🤣
Now that's Purdy good.

I love your coverage. How much is Brock like Drew, gameplay wise in your opinion?
He’s more like a young Montana.
Brock Purdy has a rare skill that most modern QBs do not possess and it's called TOUCH. He has a finesse that only other good athletes recognize. He doesn't rely on gimmicks he relies on actual skill and accuracy. He is the antithesis of Wack Trashscott.
Great job Chase
Thank you!
Yesssssss!!! When are they going to respect him, Shannon Sharp, says it's because of the players he has around him, I mean duh Brock, still have to get the ball to those great players around him, also give my MAN, ALL his props.
