    This past winter would have been a great one to visit Southern Ontario. We skipped winter this year. Lots of rain and above 0 temperatures. It's slowly been getting warmer, but, this year was something else.

      At 1.2 million a year, with rising housing prices because of rarity and speculation... It's NOT a great thing. Too many crooked Canadians and foreigners USING this to make a mint off people's backs... But hey! We KNOW about the issue, and things are going to change for the better, as always...
      I never get too sad about things when they don't work out that well here. Because at 55, one thing I noticed about my country, is that when we have a problem, we don't hide it. we face it, talk about it, and try to fix it... Ranters are just too dumb to get this.

      1967 was actually the last year the Leafs were in the finals. No Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup at all since the 1993 Montreal Canadiens; it's been 30 years of only American teams winning the Stanley Cup. I'm hoping the Edmonton Oilers can win the Cup this year; not just because they're my team, but because I'd love to see the Cup finally come back to Canada again)

      @@jodytollefson7187 That's right, and it's an impressive achievement for Calgary, being the only team to win in that legendary arena. 1989 was also the last year two Canadian teams met in the final. Edmonton then won their last Stanley Cup in 1990. It's been a long wait for Canadian NHL fans to see their teams win the Cup again (if at all; Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets fans have never experienced a Stanley Cup win for their team, and the last Cup for Ottawa was in 1927 by the original Senators, who left town in 1934; the current Senators have gone without a Cup since coming back in 1992.)

    I'm not a fancy coffee either, and I don't speak "Starbucks", so I stick to Horton's mostly. I do love half and half coffee and hot chocolate though. No fancy stuff, just that. We call it a mocha. You take a friend to Horton's, order a hot chocolate and a coffee and a third cup. Mix and enjoy. *winks*. That was fun. lol. Oh, btw, what he's drinking is like clear sugar water. It doesn't become maple syrup until a huge amount of water is boiled off. I can't remember the proportion, but it takes a huge amount of sap to produce a liter of syrup. Every year, the sugar content is a little different, so the cooking is adjusted.

    Tim's used to be in south Florida, as it is a BIG tourist hotspot for Canadians, and the stores were solely for the "Snowbirds", as Canadians who spend their winters in Florida are called. But the stores closed. Now, as of the last I heard, Tim's was making a comeback. I just haven't found a recent 2024 article to confirm the 2023 statement by South Florida officials that Tim Horton's was on its way back to the State. Here's a statement, straight from Google, regarding the Tim Horton's locations in the lower 48 (states) of the US: As of February, 2024, there are 666 (cool number!) Tim Hortons coffee shops in the United States. These coffee shops are located in 11 states and territories and 298 cities. The state with the most Tim Hortons locations is New York, with 269 coffee shops. This is about 40% of all Tim Hortons locations in the United States. Cheers from🇨🇦'

    About hockey: yes, I usually follow my team, but when it's the Stanley cup final, I always watch, even if it's 2 USA teams, because it's the only 2 remaining teams, so it's always good. Same for Olympics gold medal game: I follow team Canada for the entire tournament, but the final is always good, even if it's Russia vs. Sweden. Good to learn the players names, as many will play in the NHL in future years. And there is another stereotype not covered in the video: about canadians being nice & polite, it's generally true, but don't be mistaken, we have our fair share of assholes and rude people.

    Where I grew up in Canada the summers would get to nearly 50 degrees . On my last trip to Vancouver my daughter was counting all the palm trees just for fun. On the other hand, there are places that can get a bit chilly! I know what plus 50 feels like, and I also know what minus 50 feels like. Maple syrup is an eastern Canada thing. Sugar Maples don't even grow in the West! Or the Maritimes as far as I know. Canadians do say sorry a lot though; that much is true. Sorry for dispelling the myths!

    Look, Tash. IF you are watching a video about Canada made by immigrants, you have an 80% probability that it's based on TORONTO's particular Canadiana. It's just a fact. 80% of our new Canadians only ever heard about Toronto, and they all end up there, making it overcrowded, AND overpriced...
    The WHOLE of Canada has a bunch of different but close character traits. Not all the same, as some random CANADIAN video might try to make it up as...

    • @lamborghiniperlini1710
      @lamborghiniperlini1710 4 месяца назад

      This was my takeaway as well, before even watching 5 seconds of this video I knew this was made in Toronto. Toronto is the least "canadian " city that exists, so seeing Toronto play on stereotypes vs reality is honestly quite frustrating to watch. A city that has eroded it's own identity with most citizens being newer immigrants is not representative of Canadian identity in any way shape or form
