I Removed a Restrictor Ring from a BBCOR bat...how much exit velocity did it gain?

- I previously shaved a BBCOR bat and today I wanted to remove a restrictor ring to see how much exit velocity it would gain. Not all BBCOR bats have a restrictor ring inside them, but the DeMarini CF series bats do, we used a DeMarini CF8. Will the bat become as good as a BESR bat? We put the CF8 (BBCOR) up against the CF3 (BESR) to find out.

Maybe try using a metal bit for metal.
If you're using a pocket radar that's pointed out to center, exit velos are best read where the ball matches the direction and trajectory at which the radar is pointing. So balls you pull to left may still be read, but less accurately.

If there is any air loss in the barrel that will reduce the trampoline effect (make sure end cap is leak free). The CFZen is not the easiest ring to remove, I feel ya there. Correct about the end load it can increase exit velos 2-3mph depending on the placement.

Have you ever done a test to compare your exit velos for a 1 hand finish vs a 2 hand finish? In the initial test, you went to a 2 hand finish with the red bat and your velos immediately went up. It was a small sample size but it might be worth looking into
Your finish doesn’t matter at all unless you’re letting go before you get through contact
@@reiseclark4908 which is possible, or he likely has different deceleration patterns, and I'd like to see him test it just to see. Could have just been a coincidence, or even a misread
I haven't done a test with exit velo before, but I do know that when I finish two hands (palm up focus) I get quicker acceleration, and probably more barrel accuracy. I'll have to try it out vs a real machine and see what happens

The exit velo is from a radar that took their app off the app store so its useless now unless you already had it downloaded like I did. But its very comparable to a pocket radar

BBCOR bats have made college, and travel league ball, so damn boring. I grew up with the drop 5s, and Daaaaamn. Itd be smarter if the kids, especially college, just used wooden bats. The sweet spot may be harder to find, but once you do... you break it.
