Hi All, I just added the details in the video description for the guy that can convert these lights for you and ship out to you. Give him a shout if you don’t fancy trying this yourself 😁👍🏻
Wow, just brilliant. I wish I had the time and the bottle to try it, lack of daytime lights is the only bugbear I have with my 09 XF. Love the indicators, they look superb especially on a black car, as mine is.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you like them and commented. It took me a while to get the bottle to do this, lots of planning and took the week off work and took the plunge. Was hard work I tell you that, but totally changed the look of the car at the front.
@@69racer69 Yes, I particularly like the way you've done the headlight surrounds in black, leaving the silver strips. That looks amazing! I might have a go at that, and converting the sidelights to always on.
Looks awesome man, I learned a lot from your videos as I just did a client's headlights who had an 09 XF. They were such a bItch to get open though cuz of those stupid staple like things! Just an FYI next time wear gloves when handling inside of plastic as there's a tiny almost invisible film layer that you can't buff or polish the only way to clean inside if you get fingerprints or dust is with compressed air and putting some water and dish soap inside and swashing it around without physically touching or wiping inside of lens. Great job tho man!
Thanks Tony, I tried to not touch the inside but it’s damn hard not too. I added the video guides that I used, they say the same thing about touching the inside, so hopefully people watch them 😂
Exactly good tip! I did a mod to my Lexus SC400 waaaaay back in 2001 and advocate wearing gloves then and now! Because the hand’s fingerprints natural body oils will show up on a lot of internal parts.
I had to open my lights to convert from LHD to RHD on my imported XF-S for the IVA test. It was a mare. I used windscreen sealant to reseal them. The chrome comes off with isopropyl alcohol!
Not sure if this is of any use but you can get some black fish tank sealer in a tube like silicon called aqua seal that might work 🤔 I’ve used it for various garden landscape sculptures! Great vid dude loved it and well done jag looks superb 👍
Thank you very much buddy, I’m mainly on the Facebook groups, I haven’t really spent much time in the forums. How about you, where do you spend your time?
Great job Those are the best ones I've seen. I have been following your videos and had a question. Have you added an x-pipe? I have the spires stage 2 and was thinking about adding an x-pipe.
Thank you for following. No I haven’t added the X-Pipe (stage 1) I only have the rear boxes (stage 2) the X-Pipe would help with high end Rev range performance, and is apparently more droney on motorway type constant speed driving. So it depends on what you like.
Hey buddy, these look amazing. I’ve done a few lights in my time also. Just a thought, have you tried testing the indicators without the original bulb being in place? As I’m thinking maybe the impedance is too low for the LED to work. Just a thought. Great video!
@@billynorris558 thank you, great thought, but I have deleted those strips now, they didn’t work as well after a year. Need better quality strips. Still look good without them.
Hey. Question, to be clear. I need to take all the bulbs out before putting it in the oven And 150 degrees for 15min After taking out all the staples correct? And Thanks much!!!
The lighting of the lamps was replaced by LED lighting. A warning signal appeared on the dashboard that the lighting was not accepted, knowing that the lighting was working. What is the solution?
Hi Mate, hope you are keeping well. Got just a quick question if you can help me out on this one. I got a broken pre facelift headlamp, which I decided to use as a sensor light in the garage 🤣, but only got the led strip to work on the headlamp. Only problem I'm having, i can't seem to get that main headlamp beam to work, it has the ballast connected to it, do you know how many volt's go to the main headlamp beam?
Unfortunately I’m not sure on the voltage. Obviously normal bulbs are 12v but if it’s Hid then it maybe putting out something different. Be careful because you could blow the circuit. Some are as low as 5v
Thank's mate, was going to throw out the headlamp, but will has some fun with it before i do. Will put it under more testing tomorrow, hopefully will not blow up the garage 🤣.
Looks great mate! That definitely took a lot of time and patience but what a sense of pride knowing you did it yourself. What are your plans for the splitter?
@@shaunchaney4899 the Mina ones are just the two corners, they look very nice though. I went for a more aggressive looking full one, but it’s not a perfect fit. Can’t go wrong with the Mina ones.
I have a question for you. I have a 2013 xfr and want to put halo lights in but I don't know and can't find the correct diameter, would you happen to know are they 3.5 in or 4.75 in??
I’m not too sure on the facelift lights, i think they’re the same as the pre facelift but can’t be 100% certain. Are you going to do the work yourself?
@@69racer69 I will be doing all the work myself yes I just don't want to break the seal to get the measurement because they take a couple weeks to be delivered
Make sure you have 3-4 days free without needing the car. That’s my main advice. I wouldn’t worry too much about the DRL’s, that will save a lot of time.
Hi bud Just a quick question! When you used your oven do you have a fan assisted oven and used it that way or turn off the fan and just use the temperature around 120c. Cheers Martin
Looked good until the scotch locks came out. They dont last, they corrode internally and then electrical contact is lost. Sadly a bodge fitting in my books. Bare the wire and solder instead, that way its a permanent joint. Takes a little longer but its a joint that will never need looking at again.
Never had any real problems with scotchlocks except that they can cut through the cable too much. But there are now far more reliable connectors on the market that work extremely well, sorry I can't remember the name but will add it if I do.

Thank you, I don’t want the eye lids, I like the chrome rings. I’m not trying to make it look like a facelift model, just enhance what is there.
Hi, awesome job 👌 did you buy a New headlight cover as well or you put the original back ? Thanks

I'd like the details of the fella too, think he's gonna get busy 🙂 well done Shane, big effort big result, makes a massive difference.
Cant believe how hard it is to find upgrade parts for these and also is the like a jag owners club
We have a group on Facebook especially for modified Jaguars, facebook.com/groups/289733432870876/
I’m still trying to find that guy.
Do uses have meet ups and rallies etc
Hi Shane which headlight bulb did you use regards Mark
I have HID lights, so they are standard. The high beam are LED conversions, but we’re already on the car when I bought it
Hey.
Question, to be clear.
I need to take all the bulbs out before putting it in the oven
And 150 degrees for 15min
After taking out all the staples correct?

Thanks much!!!
Yep, take bulbs out. Temps as per video, I can’t remember 😂
Still very hard work though, just keep going and put back in the oven if needed, don’t burn your hands like I did, well my thumb anyway
The lighting of the lamps was replaced by LED lighting. A warning signal appeared on the dashboard that the lighting was not accepted, knowing that the lighting was working. What is the solution?
Need to buy canbus compatible(error free) LED lamps. They have a resistor in them to fool the car into thinking it is a bulb.
Hi do I need a heat resistant black paint or just regular spray? Thanks
@@believebelievebelieve I used a high heat resistant plastic paint.
