    I wanted to say thank you for doing this LP. Daggerfall and Arena were huge games for me in my childhood, I spent countless hours on it. I like your RP approach! I also did sort of RP with an arcane assassin type class. I was big in the dark brotherhood, had a house in Ipshead across from one of their bases.

      Thank you, and welcome! Yeah, Daggerfall has a lot of memories for me too. :) I draw a lot of inspiration from former RUclipsr JohnZoidberg1417 for his RP approach. His channel is now gone, sadly, but I think it left a lasting impression. It's fun to play games this way. :P

    Okay so it’s 2018 as I’m typing this. And daggerfall is pretty awesome! And why doesn’t this guy have more subscribers? Like you’re great! Good job man!

    I find myself returning here after 3 years. I found these videos really comfy, but it was a pretty unique time in my life, I suppose. Nonetheless, these remain very enjoyable.
    I do hope you're doing well.

    Oh my god! Just over a hundred subscribers and you have production quality this great? I know it's hard to get noticed on youtube but this is a shame, you do a great job and I intend on sticking with this channel. Hopefully in the future your hard work will be seen by more and your channel can grow even more.

    85 subs is a CRIME, this is a very well done LP and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of it. You kept saying something along the lines of, "this will be a relaxed LP," which is fine, but I personally think you have the talent to take the roleplay more seriously and create a really awesome immersive experience. Should you ever do a roleplay LP of later Elder Scrolls games, I will be beyond stoked regardless, but implore you to GO DEEPER. Cheers, mate.

      Welcome, and thank you very much for your comment... it makes me happy. :-) Feel free to let friends know about this channel. XD
      I think this LP hit the ideal roleplaying balance for me, but I might experiment as time goes on. Probably Morrowind will give me a few opportunities to try new things :-)

      But yes, I'd love to see you do some newer Elder Scrolls. By the Nine, if you ever start a RPLP of Oblivion, I'll spam your channel on every forum, thread, and social media page I can.

      M.I. Wright same. although I like Pem, I really would like him to RP the MQ for games sometimes. Sorcerer Dave and Gopher are just too sarcastic for my liking. PGW is by far my favorite RPLP'er

    Subscribed. This so far is fantastic.
    I haven't played Daggerfall in years, and I am lost. After completing the starting dungeon, how should I go about having a stable start?

      Hi Sfinna, welcome! :-D I'd say there are at least two very important things to keep in mind. One is that your initial character creation plays a *huge* role in your overall experience (I know this is after the starting dungeon, but I think this is a really important point). The game can become very unbalanced (either too easy or too hard) if you choose the wrong starting attributes and special advantages/disadvantages. Having said that, I think it's also normal for anyone to need to play the game at least a little bit in order to learn what the different character options actually do, and how these choices affect his or her individual experience. I guess that's been fairly consistent across most Elder Scrolls games. My only real recommendation in Daggerfall is to choose a set of advantages/disadvantages that keep the sword icon (the one between the 0.3x leveling and 3.0x leveling) somewhere near where it starts in the middle. I've had bad gaming experiences on either extreme that make the game seem almost impossible.
      The other thing to keep in mind is that there are main quest deadlines. If you miss a main quest deadline in Daggerfall, that can make the main quest unbeatable. Thankfully, most of the deadlines are fairly obvious. The only deadline at the very start of the game involves a letter inviting you to meet Lady Brisienna within a month. After you go and meet her, you have tremendous freedom... and no more deadlines until you trigger another part of the main quest. So you can do a whole bunch of quests (join a faction maybe) and level up your character. :-) I think the game also encourages you to do this, because many parts of the main quest won't become available until you've reached a certain level.

      Bringing up initial character creation is a good thing. I'm always willing to restart... Despite getting destroyed in the dungeon millions of times.
      In TES, I always try to go for a heavy hitter. For my primary stats, I choose Axe, Critical Strike, and Long Blade as a fallback. My major and minor skills are usually a random assortment of things, but I try to make sure some are useful. Things like running, jumping, climbing, stuff like that. Things to ease the dungeon crawling experience. I don't use magic, so you can cross that out. I don't really delve into the disadvantage and advantage system.. But I probably should, watching your series. I've also remapped the control scheme to be more acessible: WASD to move, E to activate stuff, and I use the mouse to look around, rather than move.
      As I've said: I've played Daggerfall before, a long time ago, and I remember the deadlines. Holy shit, they sucked for me.
      Another note: Thanks for the advice! :D

      I am back for your advice. I decided to go ahead and restart. Female Nord. How's this for a custom class? imgur.com/a/xT8Cw

      I'm glad to give advice, and I'm sorry I missed this! I didn't see your reply message until now (I've been traveling, and I didn't get any notifications). The class looks like a good start (to me). A few things that stood out:
      - You look like a melee fighter, since you say you're not going to use magic, you could probably take some points out of INT and/or WIL, and put them into STR, END, SPD, AGI.
      - Having two weapons as your primary skills might be overkill, but for a melee fighter I can't really think of any others that would necessarily be better. :) It might be difficult to raise the Critical Strike skill, I suggest looking up how to level up that skill. Having a primary skill that doesn't level might hinder you a bit.
      - You could probably give yourself a few more special disadvantages, then give yourself more hit points per level. As a melee fighter, the hit points would probably serve you well.

      Yes im waching it atm. The only thing that botters me is that the episodes are so short and i have to go out of full screen so offen to like the next video. Is there a specific reason why u made them so short ?

    • @pixelgamewizard2887
      @pixelgamewizard2887  8 лет назад

      It's a length that tends to work best for me personally when I'm watching other youtubers. I can stop at the end of a video and not have to remember my spot in a longer video.
      Depending on how you're watching them, you should be able to just select the playlist, and turn on the auto-play feature. I *think* it should stay in full-screen if you do it that way.

    Even though this channel focuses on retro games, I really hope you play the later elder scrolls titles with this same RP/LP style.

      @pixelgamewizard2887  8 лет назад

      I actually do intend to play Morrowind and Oblivion in a similar style, but with different characters. In the meantime, you might want to check out LuckyLoremaster's channel - I seem to recall he has an RP/LP of Morrowind.

      PixelGameWizard That's really good to hear! If you end up playing Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, will you use mods (specifically the graphics enhancing ones)? Either way, I'm really looking forward to the future of this channel :)

    • @pixelgamewizard2887
      @pixelgamewizard2887  8 лет назад +3

      Mods, yes, most likely. But graphics enhancing mods specifically... I *do* like them, but I want to preserve as much of the original experience as possible. So if I find the graphics enhancements take away from the feeling I had when I originally played those games, then I may play without, or with reduced settings. :-) For example, I plan to play with the Morrowind Graphics Extender, but only with a slightly extended render distance, because I do like the feeling of mystery and distance I get with the game's default fog.

    • @iloveorangechicken1538
      @iloveorangechicken1538 8 лет назад +1

      PixelGameWizard I totally understand that. I'm not a big fan of mods that make games look almost photorealistic and overhaul the lighting to a point that actually interferes with the visual atmosphere and mood of the original game.

    Do you think you'll play arena?

    • @pixelgamewizard2887
      @pixelgamewizard2887  8 лет назад +2

      Hey, welcome! Yes, I think I will play Arena. I've played it before but never gotten far... a situation I'd like to see resolved at some point. :-) My plan right now (always subject to change) is to finish Planescape: Torment, then do Arena, then do Morrowind.
