I was 10 in 1990, kmart was such a integral part of our lives back then. Kmart, toys r us, venture, radio shack, celebration station, all of these stores from my childhood are disappearing. So sad. I would give anything to go back to 1990 and stay there forever!

OH MAN! Bitd when Kmart sold everything from instruments to guns. I could just smell the popcorn and hot dogs as you guys walked in!!

This video reminded me of how in the 90's everybody managed to either have a mullet or a cop mustache.

Oh my goodness, as a decade long Kmart store fan, I can't tell you how long I've been trying to see photos of the interior of a 1980s era store. Seeing photos from that time frame is EXTREMELY rare and you provided some amazing thorough walk through footage which is a thousand times greater. Props for decided to shoot that footage, including even the back breakroom, and many of the products on the shelves. Also, props for everyone working there back then for being awesome about it and allowing you to shoot this. This footage is rare gold I really mean that too! Definitely save this footage and make copies.

Miss the Kmart diner in the back! My family didn't have a lot of money but they'd take us kids there every once in awhile as they were doing the shopping and we enjoyed it so much! Sure miss those days! Thanks for posting, Lake Zurich!

Fantastic! I was 5-6 years old in 1990 and it’s cool to see good quality footage that’s super random! That camcorder must have needed to be huge for such quality!

Pathetic that Sony Music should even give a rat's ass about "rights" for snippets of songs which just happen to be in a low-quality home video. A shame that YT caves into their demands.

I turned 21 that year. My wife threw me a surprise party with family at Ryans Steak House just down the road from a Kmart. The cake said Happy Birthday Dear Sweetheart so when Ryans crew sang to me they said that lol.

All of these people look like they are enjoying being in the moment. Everyone seemed to talk to everyone, even complete strangers would greet, smile, strike up a conversation, or even just laugh with them. Everyone was social. It seems like a completely different world pre-2000s.

Was working at Kmart in Germantown TN on the date these were taken. The best memories of my life are of working there. Co-workers were like family. Man, I miss those stores.

Wow, I worked summer's 1987-89 at a K Mart in Missouri so this brings back so many memories. You'll notice all the boys were required to wear ties unless working lawn and garden lol. Times sure have changed. The layout of that store was almost identical to ours, even the cash office, layaway, and break rooms lol.
