Shorts still work really great for me on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a little bit of fame- ster, but that's a necessity nowadays). Quality doesn't matter much with shorts if you're a small channel... they're very random... all you need to do is trick the algorithm, make shorts the algorithm likes while making sure people will also like it enough to push that like button every now and then (this rules out telling a story, as a small channel any short that's over 15-20 seconds is likely to fail)
Swiped-viewed rate also doesn't matter, nor does AVD with shorts.... My most successful shorts had low viewed-swiped rate and AVD at first while by far most of my shorts with over 90% viewed-swiped ratio and >100% AVD flopped with just a handful of impressions
Whenever I upload a good short it skyrockets to 2,000 views on average in an hour at most, and then stops instantly. I have no idea why and am struggling to fix it.
Its because youtube tests your shorts with an audience called "seed audience". And if the audience engages with the short well, it will get a huge boost and skyrocket. But if the audience doesnt engage with it, for example, swipes away, bad like to view ratio etc, youtube will not push it out into further "main audience".
@@memematrix69420 Okay thanks. But when RUclips shows the seed audience it gets me tons of subscribers and sometimes hundreds of likes, is that not good enough to push it to the main audience?

I really need to get decent at storytelling... But I have a question. What would you recommend to art/beauty/dance creators whose shorts are often based on transitions or focused around the music? A lot of short videos of this type (for example, makeup transitions, and they don't have to be too dramatic like you've erased 60 years) have a lot of success, but mine and a lot of people's gain a decent amount of views, but rarely go viral. What can be improved about those? Is there a better way to hook people in besides adding text on screen? They kind of understand from the start it's an art or makeup transition video or, for example, a dance, so how do those big creators get people to watch the whole thing, while the rest of us can't?

If shorts are not made to get people to watch your long form content, why shorts? I'd assume it's a great way to get people to click on your longer vids. Regardless, thank you. I need to step my short game up!
Shorts are the hardest thing ever. I've gotten a million views on TikTok and Instagram countless times and 100k+ is pretty easy. On Shorts I've never had one over 25k and most don't even get over 5k. Some million view TikToks get 500 views re-uploaded to Shorts. Still haven't figured out Shorts. 😢
Thanks for the tips! What I don’t understand is why RUclips throttles my shorts. I’ll pop off a really good one that gets over 200k views on Instagram and TikTok but it’ll only reach 10k on RUclips. Makes no sense. I can’t crack 10k if my life depended on it. Yet those other platforms let me explode regularly.
one of the biggest issues that people don't talk about is your subscribers are actually hurting your channel. if they are not watching your video when youtube pushes to them first that actually hurts your channel
I bet you haven't realized this, but the titles of RUclips Shorts have changed to only being 1 line rather than the entire thing. Check out any RUclips Short with a decently long title and you will see the entire title will not appear. 😮
My youtube shorts have suddenly stop getting views. Even if it is a trend. I see other people do the trend and they get lots of views but when i do it i barely get 10. Don't get me wrong I add tags , hashtags in title and description. I also try to give best editing. I just don't know why the algorithm is declining me.
The best approach to achieving viral success on RUclips is by offering something distinct from others. Highlight what sets your channel apart and create videos that break the mold, catering to popular interests while presenting a fresh perspective. By delivering content that resonates uniquely with your audience, you increase the likelihood of capturing their attention and going viral.
My shorts were getting decent amount of views, after I recieved an email about My channel doesn't sufficient channel history Anyone could help me about this matter?
This is my short channel, and I want to make long videos too. I don't know how it works or gonna effect because I still haven't reached 200 subscribers.
I still don't understand the process. One of my shorts blew up to 7K+ and then stopped even though it was 55% viewed by the impressions given out. Over 250+ likes and comments, but then RUclips said nah. LOL. But I have stopped from doing a short a day to 3 a week.
Thanks for the video! Making shorts for a new Quiz channel appears to be challenging. I'm still trying to figure out what type of shorts will work best for this channel.
My shorts are having +75 swipe away and %+80 average viewed and none of them are going viral, I don't understand what needs to be done for something to go viral on RUclips
At 7:58 you mention that you could pull a clip or two from the creator’s videos if you haven’t interviewed them before. But isn’t that opening ourselves up to copyright issue?

Makes no sense. I can’t crack 10k if my life depended on it. Yet those other platforms let me explode regularly.
what other platforms?
But Did you really break the *RUclips shorts Algorithms*?? Or just click baited me? 🤔🤔
Thank You for this! Just like all ur other informative videos. I need it
one of the biggest issues that people don't talk about is your subscribers are actually hurting your channel. if they are not watching your video when youtube pushes to them first that actually hurts your channel
I bet you haven't realized this, but the titles of RUclips Shorts have changed to only being 1 line rather than the entire thing. Check out any RUclips Short with a decently long title and you will see the entire title will not appear. 😮
Sheesh I’ve done 42 shorts a week since August 2023 and 7 million views later
Yall on fire fr with the features for creators!
Can i ask you should I put tags to my shorts or it is not good to my short video ?
WOW . Lots of things to do with shorts!
My shorts were getting decent amount of views, and all of a sudden... BARELY NOTHING!. Frustrating and kinda makes you lose motivation :(
same here, did it pick back up?
Let’s keep grinding guys! Don’t give up
4:35 aww cute cat in the background
anything can blow up in today's world. I feel like quality doesn't matter in this regard
Guys, it is a classical Survivorship bias. Sorry

My guess is u deleted a video to reupload it and u got shadow banned so u just gotta go ahead and endure it
4:59 the last few shorts I’ve posted have all gotten in that range so why are mine not doing those views?
The best approach to achieving viral success on RUclips is by offering something distinct from others. Highlight what sets your channel apart and create videos that break the mold, catering to popular interests while presenting a fresh perspective. By delivering content that resonates uniquely with your audience, you increase the likelihood of capturing their attention and going viral.
I have 11 subs!

What do you recommend for music channels like me? I do some talking at the beginning but my videos are more about the music
Nice info. Thanks!
As a beginner,am slowly learning making my next video better than the last one...work in progress
Keep shooting videos, editing and uploading. Take a breather and repeat.^^ All the best!!🎉🎉🎉
My shorts were getting decent amount of views, after I recieved an email about My channel doesn't sufficient channel history Anyone could help me about this matter?
Newbe here. Considering making a long form video, saving it but also edit it and save the part that sums everything up and using that as a short.
This is my short channel, and I want to make long videos too. I don't know how it works or gonna effect because I still haven't reached 200 subscribers.
@@angelicasanjose23 Thank you 🩷
Yeah, cool stuff! Not much for shorts lately, but will give it a try soon again! Cheers and good luck everybody!
Persistence, patience, and hard work are the keys to success. Best wishes to all beginners, myself included, on our journey to reaching our goals.
I still don't understand the process. One of my shorts blew up to 7K+ and then stopped even though it was 55% viewed by the impressions given out. Over 250+ likes and comments, but then RUclips said nah. LOL. But I have stopped from doing a short a day to 3 a week.
I like the cat in your background. Send it (him / her) over!
How to get a million views?
TERRIFIC!
YOU'RE AWESOME!
BEST REGARDS!
God bless everyone watching 🎉🎉🎉,
Thanks for the video!
Can you tell me how many seconds of the video count as viewed vs swiped away ratio?
Thanks for Sharing Nice Advice Thank-you VidlQ 💖 ❤💛
These videos have been really helpful as someone who just started a channel this year 😊
My most short views is 3.5 k..... so should you not post long and short on the same channel ?
I started a lyrics video creating channel. I wanna know from where can i get copyright free music?
I will not upload any videos now I'm retired I will upload on TikTok
At 7:58 you mention that you could pull a clip or two from the creator’s videos if you haven’t interviewed them before. But isn’t that opening ourselves up to copyright issue?
After doing all of these, I've come to realize that none of it matters for small channels. Just find a trending hashtag and cross your fingers.
Very Interesting and Informative .. Will apply for my YT channel as well .Thank you so much
I started 2015 and still not getting anywhere with shorts..
