- This is the moment Prince William takes off in a helicopter after he was made leader of an Army unit by King Charles.
Charles has made Prince William the leader of his brother's helicopter unit and didn't even mention Harry during his speech in a major snub.
Charles, 75, met with William, 41, in front of an Apache chopper as he officially made his eldest son the leader of Harry's former helicopter unit.
The monarch was spotted arriving at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, in a rare joint engagement for father and son.

He must have a licensed pilot in the aircraft at all times if he wants to fly. I know this information because my husband is a flight instructor/ jet pilot for 50 years. 20,000+ flight hours over the course of his career so far. He has flown in the US as well as Europe. So yes @juanitamiller9529 is absolutely correct. My husband actually was training at a facility several years ago here in the US where Harry did some training while he was in the service. Harry’s reputation at that facility was dreadful. His instructors say he was “goofy, lazy and not serious about studying like he should have been. That’s the kind of “ hero” harry was and is.

Harry didnt do much actual flying. He was a gunner. William was in search and rescue. He was launching in bad weather for maritime rescues when the Army Air Corps was cancelling ops due to bad weather.
And remember that he also donated his full salary throughout his time in service.
He also flew doctors to injured or dying people as the pilot of Air Ambulances.

Last year he did a fund raising to purchase 2 new Air Ambulances for London & surrounds. The helios they have are very old. The Air Ambulance service is wholly self funded. The government doesn't contribute a penny. It's a charitable cause funded by ordinary people.
He has contributed his salary to the corps since joining. He flew out of Anglesey which had high sea cliffs, a large farming community & dangerous mountain trails. The weather was notoriously bad.

Hugo Vickers is an extremely sensible and knowledgeable commentator on royal matters, and he is an extremely civil man so may be being excessively polite, but if he seriously believes that M was genuinely interested in Commonwealth humanitarian issues before she met H, he is deluded. Certainly she went to Rwanda, but it is pretty clear that it was a retrospective photo opp to get 'humanitarianism' onto her CV to make her a more suitable royal girlfriend. She never had any genuine interests in any of it, and the proof of this is - what has she actually done? What achievements or enterprises has she instigated? What does she do now? Sorry but I have to disagree with you on this point. The role of Colonial In Chief is held by the Prince of Wales, Charles, as C.I.C held that role for 30 plus years when he was the Prince of Wales. It was publicly announced in August 2023 that said position would be handed to William as he is now the Prince of Wales, maybe fact check your information first!

1. Harry was a gunner, he NEVER flew an apache helicopter.
2. The then Prince of Wales Charles had that role as the next monarch, now to be passed down to the now Prince of Wales, next monarch. Harry would not have been given that role had he still been a working royal. Harry never passed any of his exams including Sandhurst or flight exams they were told by some one up high to give him it on paperwork only he was only allowed to be gunner .in Afghanistan he flew in on a friday with camera crew and security pictures taken on gun target and running to helicopter but he only sat in gunner seat didnt take of it was a practice run . He was kept in a bunker with security around him some Hero and thats from one of his instructors he was flown out of war zone on a sunday .Thats harrys war bunker harry .and he was given a medal .Even then The Royals and grey suits covered for him. He never passed school exams either a teacher did one for him so he got 1 good pass .

I also gave similar comments. We have to get these stories out. Harry is a disgrace. In America this is called Stolen Valor. I come from a military family. In fact my grandfather was stationed in Britian during WWII and flew missions over Europe. My father was in Vietnam . My boyfriend in Germany when the wall came down. Army helicopter medic. That is why Harry lying about his service makes me livid. Male members of my family risked their lives to fight against tyranny.
T and T UK interviewed on of Harry's commanding officers. He detailed this. It is titled They Lied. He also said that Harry was rude to officers and was on his cellphone 90% of the time. There is no way he could fly a helicopter. He does not have the attention span for it. Plus he is a druggie and alcoholic.
