Wow, he looks so healthy - he’s put on weight, doesn’t look as flushed, and has a glimmer in his eyes that gives off this whole new aura around him.
His story is such an inspiration. His son is so lucky to have him as a father.
His lips have also gone from being the bright white they were to match in with the rest of his face
you can even see his lips for real this time, and to be honest he really does look healthy and more stronger
alex is truly an inspiration i felt his pain in the first video
i couldnt agree more.. there is something different about him.. its like the self pity (which he was entitled to) has gone..
right i can't imagine how he's gonna look on the next 5 years since he already looks much better!
@@craftylittlerthings true

Right? We need to drop the Kardashians for example and remind society of real courage and bravery.

So good to see him! The documentary about him is one of those that has just stayed in my mind through years
Same here
I agree! My heart just hurt for him. Now, my heart is overjoyed, he's come a long way.
Same here..
Same I found it by accident, was so moving he was so brave and his wife came over as an amazingly strong woman watching them despite the awful situation they had found themself in you really got a sense that they loved each other and would come through together! It is fantastic to see him and appearing to be getting on well!
Wow what a lovely man. ❤❤❤😯🥰😘
I remember seeing a documentary on this guy a few years ago when he had the facial reconstruction surguery, he seemed quite depressed at that time. It's amazing to see him doing so well after everything he's been through!

Oui on voit il est beaucoup mieux et pris du poids magnifique bravo c est héros qui donne la force aux autres bravoooooooo😇❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was disappointed to learn that, as an alcoholic, he went back to drinking. Slippery slope.
I had part of my face removed due to cancer and the most difficult part were the stares and comments off people, particularly at the start when everything looked raw. My son said I looked like Frankenstein's monster and said it was a shame it wasn't halloween at the time...lol He made me laugh so much I split my stitches and had to get further surgery ... bloody kids, eh! 😂..lol.
I may have to get further surgery which means losing my eye and getting a prosthesis made for part of my face. I realise now it's nothing compared to others like yourself have gone through. Watching your story you've given me so much inspiration. I'm so glad you're doing well. You and your family are just amazing! Thank you for sharing your story. X ❤
@开 I'm doing ok my lovely. Thank you for asking. I hope all is good with you too 💪😊 💕 🤗
I lost the middle third of my top lip due to cancer, it is now giving me more lines around my mouth as Im now in my 60's I was 42 then. It actually looked amazing when the doc had done his magic on it, he was a real down to earth Yorkshire man and he said it how it was. I was so terrified how it was going to make me look, it's still not like the mouth I was born with but no one really notices too much, but it's more obvious now. I sort of can imagine how you felt/feel and that was only a very small part of my face. I hope you are managing well now and all goes well for you if you have had more ops done. It makes me realise mine is not so bad when I see others worse off than me, but as my doc said you hurt by what's happening to you, which is true. IIcan only say if you ever need someone to talk to, get in touch. The best of luck to you and I hope all is fine for you now. hugs xx Ann xx
@@craftylittlerthings thank you for your lovely reply. I'm sorry you too went through a cancer trauma. I was lucky to have a fantastic maxillofacial surgeon on the NHS. Sounds like your guy was great too. The scars have healed really well although I've just started to get the sensation back on that side of face after nearly 8 years. The next face surgery is postponed for the foreseeable. I deal with auto immune disorder systemic lupus (which is why my skin is light sensitive) and at the moment it's attacking my heart. The heart surgery is my main focus right now. Thanks for your offer of a chat. You are so very kind. The offer is there from me to you too. 💕 We're survivors and tougher than we think. I'll be 53 in August so I'm not far behind you in age but I definitely think we're rocking it!! 🤘😁 Sending you best wishes. Stay strong beautiful xx
Bless you. Stay strong. You are a chosen one, who was brought here from Heaven because you can handle it. Thank you for speaking out because you are not alone.
Stories like these make me happy. If it's ever Halloween please embrace it.
Alex the most impressive thing about you is that you know you're a merre mortal and you're in survival mode as you said you're no hero but you would never be where you are without the supporting cast you had and you truly are an inspiration The most impressive thing I get from you is your humility
His lips have adjusted to his face so well, he looks fully normal again. What a comeback
I know that you are trying to be nice, but it is not true 😐
@@suuo4595 yea it is
@@Shaunissmall Fully normal again?! 🤔 Please! Amazing progress! Just don't lie

@@suuo4595 his face looks fine it's not obvious man come on don't be a buzzkill.
I didn't even recognize him at first. He really has come leaps and bounds. Amazing what he's done in 5 years.
Alex, I remember seeing your story when Real Stories covered you. It broke my freakin heart for what you lost and what you have gone through. But it made me realize how strong you are, stronger than you know, the power of the indomitable human spirit, love, and the will to survive. It made me count my blessings and be thankful for so many little things I take for granted every single day. I'm tearing up just writing this LOL... Your son has a great role model and you've been an inspiration to me. Wishing you all the best. It can only get better and better from here on out. May God bless you and your family.
So glad to have an update, that documentary left me in crumbles. He's looking so much better and happier. Sooooo relieved to see him doing well. My heart goes out to you sir. Your strength is an inspiration to everyone. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU DUDE!!!!!
I’m also so happy with how respectful and kind everyone has been to him. So often us disabled folk are treated awfully by those on the internet. It truly warms my heart.
Yes … kindness does go a long way. As you never know where or how you will be tomorrow as life can turn on a dime… and challenges can present themselves. As for comments that are hurtful and harmful on RUclips, sadly it is a reflection of our society. And no , no one needs to hear or read others opinions that are not asked for. 🙃
He's a Hero❤
I remember watching the documentary and looking in his eyes full of sadness.. worries and fear. Now in his eyes i see happiness. I’m so happy for him.
I found this after several months of watching the documentary which broke my heart. I feel happy now looking at how much he has improved and how happy he looks (and is) now. I kept listening to his answers as I was listening to a wise man being interviewed. Actually, he surely is a wise man. God bless him.
He's so humble and really living life that most people don't even live their life they just exist in this world. I have never felt this great amount of encouragement from anyone. I've learned from Alex to be humble and live my life that God has given me. God bless you Alex and your family.
This has completely made my day. It's just wonderful to see how well he and his family are doing. What he's been up to is very inspiring.
Absolutely I am glad too .. seeing this video he is much better than before 🤞🙏❤️❤️I am Soo much happy 😊 God bless them 🙏
Alex is looking incredible!! Sending all levels of great thoughts to him and his family :)
This is what I thought!!!! He was still in the throws of healing in the documentary I seen on him and was still struggling a bit (understandably). But he is looking so, so much better here!!!! Mentally and physically:)
He looks amazing!
Levels of great thoughts 😂

Wow! I have thought about this man many times over the years after watching his documentary. Wow, I was thinking his face was never going to look anything like normal again but it's looking really good. Incredible progress in such a short amount of time. It's so nice to get an update, glad he's doing so well.
i agree! he looks great tbh
I don't mean to sound superficial, i was so hoping that his face would eventually adjust. You know people had to be making remarks, and in the one documentary i saw they didn't really address the facial part as much as the limbs. Never in my life could i have imagined the damage strep a could cause. I have a friend who battled necrotiziing fasciitis a few years ago and came close to the point of leg amputation, and how that ravaged her body. She still has small recurrences of wound care, and i wonder with Alex, is there ever concerns of reoccurence? He and his family are incredible human beings, strong beyond any definition if the word.
I am so inspired by you. I have struggles with addiction and depression and anxiety. But you really make me realize to appreciate and not think I have it so bad. My mother is mean and demeaning. I have my boyfriend. But lost my kids. This all sounds random. But you absolutely inspire since I found you today on RUclips. You have more strength than I have seen in a very long time
Not random. We’re all in this together.
Love you. ⭐️
I'm so glad he's doing so well. A remarkable man. God bless him and his family.
This guy is a legend and so is his family. God bless him and his family

I found the original documentary on the poor chap and his family utterly heartbreaking , so pleased to see them doing brilliantly
Do you know caused the toxic shock?!.
@@macman975 this Was my comment too..I don't know anything about the guy .
@@macman975 apparently a bacteria got into his blood stream leading to septicemia and then toxic shock syndrome.
Also, he was drinking large quantities of alcohol at the time.
There is absolutely nothing 'poor chap' about this man.He is living his best life(his words),loved and loving.❤❤❤
Such an inspiration to see him battle through something as unthinkable as this and happy to see him blessed with a lovely wife and boy!! May god bless him with all the strength in the world💪
There's no telling how many people that have been touched by Alex's story. Even harder to gauge, is how many he has helped deal with a struggle, that threatens to drown them in pain and misery. To see that he fought a long, hard battle, and has gotten to a place where he can look back and see it was all worth it, is an amazing sight. Thank you so much for sharing this update, to an already courageous story! What a beautiful family.❤
His voice is so soothing. He should read for audio books.

I can't believe how great Alex is looking, I haven't seen updates in a few years and I'm honestly so beyond impressed by his recovery. His speech is perfect, he uses the equipment he's got so smoothly even though he had to learn that stuff from scratch. Amazing to see how far Alex has come. Well done Alex and your are an inspiration to us all. Just the fact you thought you had to reinvent your relationship with your son says it all really. So fortunate that he lives in an age where he will one day be able to get amazing bionic limbs and live completely autonomous again 🕺what a strong man, so incredible
More than likely we will see bio-engineers regrow limbs and organs in the not-so-distant future
Coming soon
Within the next 30 years for sure
Nothing you said makes sense. Science is a long way from making bionic limbs that link to the brain or central nervous system. Yes, its being studied, but it doesnt exist, nor will it in his lifetime. So stop dishing out false promises.
