He’s changed a lot since the first documentary I saw of him. He sounds so much more at peace and it’s awesome. Plus, he look so much better now. Congrats.
I remember seeing a documentary on this guy a few years ago when he had the facial reconstruction surguery, he seemed quite depressed at that time. It's amazing to see him doing so well after everything he's been through!
I love how much he’s doing with his life now! Interior design, research, traveling, and having fun with his son and wife. Sounds like he’s trying to do the most with what he’s got and I want to put that energy in my life!

Amazing family goodluck with future Alex

Alex, I remember seeing your story when Real Stories covered you. It broke my freakin heart for what you lost and what you have gone through. But it made me realize how strong you are, stronger than you know, the power of the indomitable human spirit, love, and the will to survive. It made me count my blessings and be thankful for so many little things I take for granted every single day. I'm tearing up just writing this LOL... Your son has a great role model and you've been an inspiration to me. Wishing you all the best. It can only get better and better from here on out. May God bless you and your family.
There's no telling how many people that have been touched by Alex's story. Even harder to gauge, is how many he has helped deal with a struggle, that threatens to drown them in pain and misery. To see that he fought a long, hard battle, and has gotten to a place where he can look back and see it was all worth it, is an amazing sight. Thank you so much for sharing this update, to an already courageous story! What a beautiful family.❤
Wow! I have thought about this man many times over the years after watching his documentary. I am so thrilled to know that he is doing well in all aspects of life, especially emotionally and mentally… he is an absolute role model right here, this is what it’s all about! Kids, pay attention! It is fantastic to see him and appearing to be getting on well!

I found this after several months of watching the documentary which broke my heart. I feel happy now looking at how much he has improved and how happy he looks (and is) now. I kept listening to his answers as I was listening to a wise man being interviewed. Actually, he surely is a wise man. God bless him.

I sort of can imagine how you felt/feel and that was only a very small part of my face. I hope you are managing well now and all goes well for you if you have had more ops done. It makes me realise mine is not so bad when I see others worse off than me, but as my doc said you hurt by what's happening to you, which is true. As for comments that are hurtful and harmful on RUclips, sadly it is a reflection of our society. And no , no one needs to hear or read others opinions that are not asked for. 🙃
The way the dog walks up the stairs with him and then waits for him at the top is really cute. Unconditional love and support right there. That aside, Alex is an amazing person with a great attitude toward life.
Wow, I was thinking his face was never going to look anything like normal again but it's looking really good. Incredible progress in such a short amount of time. It's so nice to get an update, glad he's doing so well.
I don't mean to sound superficial, i was so hoping that his face would eventually adjust. You know people had to be making remarks, and in the one documentary i saw they didn't really address the facial part as much as the limbs. Never in my life could i have imagined the damage strep a could cause. I have a friend who battled necrotiziing fasciitis a few years ago and came close to the point of leg amputation, and how that ravaged her body. She still has small recurrences of wound care, and i wonder with Alex, is there ever concerns of reoccurence? He and his family are incredible human beings, strong beyond any definition if the word.
I am so inspired by you. I have struggles with addiction and depression and anxiety. But you really make me realize to appreciate and not think I have it so bad. My mother is mean and demeaning. "100% happy" & "everyday i wake up buoyant and happy and i can't wait for the next day to do it all over again" the optimism in this guy is endless. completely in awe. ashamed that im nowhere as happy as he is when i have every reason to be. i really should learn to be :)
Watched the documentary a few times and Alex just popped into my head out of nowhere and I thought I’d see how he is now and omg he looks absolutely incredible! The beauty, bravery and strength of this man and his family is phenomenal! x
This is what I thought!!!! He was still in the throws of healing in the documentary I seen on him and was still struggling a bit (understandably). But he is looking so, so much better here!!!! Mentally and physically:)
I can't believe how great Alex is looking, I haven't seen updates in a few years and I'm honestly so beyond impressed by his recovery. His speech is perfect, he uses the equipment he's got so smoothly even though he had to learn that stuff from scratch. It must've been such a battle, yet he makes it look so easy, which is an indication of just how much hard work he's had to put in. Big love to the whole family.
i cant believe how great he looks! incredible to see him looking healthy and happy! his facial features appear completely normal! good on him and his doctors! what a guy, happy hes got Lucy and Sam every day. truly a lucky man to have such a beautiful family
Alex has to be one of the most inspirational people I’ve seen. His attitude is so positive it’s uplifting. I’m sure he has his off days but going through what he has and to keep going makes me happy. All the best Alex. I’d love to meet in person one day.
I watched the documentary about him several years ago. He looks so good! And great to know things are going well with him. What a loving, supportive family.
First of all thanks " Real Story" for updating about Alex condition by doing Q&A💕😊 I'm glad that he is doing well now. He is looking so good , cheerful and so healthy now compare to before. The surgery on his mouth several years ago show positive results that he has his lips back. I pray for u Alex and your family live full with happiness 💗💗💗
Alex isn’t probably gonna see this but you are a really great guy I’m so so proud of you and your amazing family The bravest and strongest man I’ve ever seen.
i‘m really grateful for this update, i’ve been wondering how alex is doing now after all these years. i’m super happy for him, and i hope he keeps going strong! he‘s been a real inspiration for me.
Amazing to see how far Alex has come. Well done Alex and your are an inspiration to us all. Just the fact you thought you had to reinvent your relationship with your son says it all really. It shows you wasn't a victim you still had your responsibilities to your lad. And that is fantastic. Well done Alex, you really are an inspiration to us all.
what a coincidence that i re-watched the documentary of his 2 days ago after 4 years, wondering how he’s up to now and this video pops up on my recommended. this video calmed me so much. i’m so glad to see him flourish including his wonderful family. he’s truly an inspiration, to live life to the fullest despite what hardships come in the way. so happy and proud of them. hope they always stay safe, happy, healthy and successful. such a beautiful family
I JUST discovered Alex and the documentary, it’s resonated with me to my core. Seeing how happy he is absolutely thrills me. I’m so inspired and I’ve literally never seen such a strong human being.
So fortunate that he lives in an age where he will one day be able to get amazing bionic limbs and live completely autonomous again 🕺what a strong man, so incredible
Nothing you said makes sense. Science is a long way from making bionic limbs that link to the brain or central nervous system. Yes, its being studied, but it doesnt exist, nor will it in his lifetime. So stop dishing out false promises.

"100% happy" & "everyday i wake up buoyant and happy and i can't wait for the next day to do it all over again"
the optimism in this guy is endless. completely in awe. ashamed that im nowhere as happy as he is when i have every reason to be. i really should learn to be :)
Watched the documentary a few times and Alex just popped into my head out of nowhere and I thought I’d see how he is now and omg he looks absolutely incredible! The beauty, bravery and strength of this man and his family is phenomenal! x
Alex is looking incredible!! Sending all levels of great thoughts to him and his family :)
This is what I thought!!!! He was still in the throws of healing in the documentary I seen on him and was still struggling a bit (understandably). But he is looking so, so much better here!!!! Mentally and physically:)
He looks amazing!
Levels of great thoughts 😂
@@hoptoit5910 he really doesn't.
@@elizabethmckinven6378 you must realy lead quite a miserable life to comment with such negativity under every positive comment. I pity you :)
My goodness, Alex, you have come such a long way! Credit to you and your wonderful family.
Thank you, Alex, for taking the time to answer everyone's questions. I'm so happy to hear that you and your family are doing well! 🤗
Your so beautiful
Alex has to be one of the most inspirational people I’ve seen. His attitude is so positive it’s uplifting. I’m sure he has his off days but going through what he has and to keep going makes me happy.
All the best Alex. I’d love to meet in person one day.
His voice is so soothing. He should read for audio books.
@@BenWinder108 you don't think he has a nice voice, I take it? I don't know how you'd think that, but to each their own. You do you boo
Well said 💕
Yes he does
That's a brilliant idea!! I find his voice super soothing! Audiobooks would be amazing... or an ASMR channel on RUclips :-)
Tr you the way they did the front it
I'm so glad he's doing well! ❤ Thank you for making this video and taking the time to answer our questions!
I watched the documentary about him several years ago. He looks so good! And great to know things are going well with him. What a loving, supportive family.
First of all thanks " Real Story" for updating about Alex condition by doing Q&A💕😊
I'm glad that he is doing well now. He is looking so good , cheerful and so healthy now compare to before. The surgery on his mouth several years ago show positive results that he has his lips back. I pray for u Alex and your family live full with happiness 💗💗💗
Alex isn’t probably gonna see this but you are a really great guy I’m so so proud of you and your amazing family
The bravest and strongest man I’ve ever seen.
It's great seeing him living a happy life with his family. You're strength is admirable and you're so blessed to have family as loving as them.
i‘m really grateful for this update, i’ve been wondering how alex is doing now after all these years. i’m super happy for him, and i hope he keeps going strong! he‘s been a real inspiration for me.
Wow..my 1st time sering him in years..He looks great...God bless you and your family Alex!
Such a brave and strong guy. Sending prayers from Japan 🇯🇵
Just finished watching the documentary, and am so happy to see how he is now !! His wife is an absolute angel and his son is adorable and so so cute.
He looks fantastic!!! I love these kinds of updates
So fortunate that he lives in an age where he will one day be able to get amazing bionic limbs and live completely autonomous again 🕺what a strong man, so incredible
More than likely we will see bio-engineers regrow limbs and organs in the not-so-distant future
Coming soon
Within the next 30 years for sure
Nothing you said makes sense. Science is a long way from making bionic limbs that link to the brain or central nervous system. Yes, its being studied, but it doesnt exist, nor will it in his lifetime. So stop dishing out false promises.
Alex could be the REAL "Six Million Dollar Man"....
@@GameOver-ei8ui well not commercially but there are individuals .theres a guy playing pianos by moving his metal fingers, he doesn't even have a arm from his elbow. And electromyography is used in certain cases to sense what function the person is trying to perform.
It's not perfect but in the near future there will be a lot of developments
Just a few minutes ago, I was watching the miracle document of him. And here on this video, the first few seconds, I'm blown away how amazing he has changed!
I'm soooo happy that he is doing well. I remember him from the first documentary and he was so down and sad. What a wonderful surprise to see how he's doing now and see him happy, enjoying his life and family!
So good to see you Alex! You’re making more of a difference to humanity than many of us who have all four limbs! You and your family are an inspiration!
Iam without one arm and i understand how life can be tricky without it.To loose both of them is crazy difficult...Lets go Alex and greetings from Slovenia...
I wish I was as strong as this man he will never go down without a fight and God bless him and his family I wish nothing but greatness ❤️
*I’m so happy for him, I never forgot about his documentary.*
Wow you have healed amazingly. So glad to see you're doing well so many years later. You are an inspiration to us all.
Love how losing his limbs made him more ambitious. Cycling in the arctic, rowing across the Atlantic... Bet he'll make it all work, too
Brave guy. I'm happy to see he remains positive and still has love and support from his family.
He should create a RUclips channel. It would be big!
I searched for him after his story aired found no update. Glad to see this.
Alex you have come so far. It absolutely does take a strong and positive outlook to overcome what you have! You are amazing!!!
I'm so happy that there isn't any sign of that sadness in his eyes that there was before....wish you and your family the best
Alex, YOU give me inspiration to get beyond depression. I'm so happy for you, Lucy and Sam after seeing this. May God bless you so much! Hugz, Tree from Missouri USA.
I'm so happy to see this! I hope you see all these wonderful heartfelt comments. You have healed amazingly! Very handsome. The support you have in your life is incredible and the drive you have to pursue your passions is somewhere in the stratosphere. Your wife and son are amazing! 1000 hugs and love from Toronto! 🇨🇦
You look
Like Rob Low an American actor. Love your story. My husband got in an accident while we were engaged and has a to have a wheelchair for life. I was like Lucy and NEVER thought about leaving. When you have a relationship that’s best friends that’s the happiness you need and a sense of humor as tears will flow without warning. Love you Alex and keep smiling. You are very special!!!!!!!!
Live from Nairobi - Kenya! You are an absolute inspiration. You're mom said, "if you know the life you want to live you must was get up and go find it". Will never forget that, you and your family
Great message, from Kenya too
Kenya too! And this man has been an absolute motivator for me.

I am from Morocco, and I’m so glad to see him happy and his face is better than before, I am really happy about his wife, she helped him go through a tough time and always laughed with him, bravo 👏
I remember seeing his story. And i truly couldn't believe the tragedy that occured with him... But I loved his story and his family and it is teaching as lot to me. Just the power of love and hope and family ... Amazing. What a great man. Still good looking if i may add but besides that , truly an amazing man and his wife is so beautiful inside and out and their boy looks just like her now . ❤️💕✨
I don’t know much about Alex’s work but he would make an amazing speaker (life coach)
He should do audio books he has a nice sounding voice just an opinion
This guy is waaaayyy amaaaazing !!!! His wife is amazing, they avoided contacting this to stand by him, they are , amazingly standing with his recovery, without fear ! Just amazing story. I got scared hearing this, so his wife not losing it is really so wonderful, as he was in a horrible bug ...and where did he get this ?
So good to see Alex's progress. His happiness really shows and he looks so well. Was really inspired by the documentary . Such an inspiring man with an equally inspiring wife by his side. Beautiful family.
Alex you look great and glad to see you happy. Congratulations to you, Lucy, your lovely son and all those who worked hard with you. May God bless you all.
I'm so glad he's doing so well. A remarkable man. God bless him and his family.
I saw the whole video of what happened to you and I couldn't believe something like this could happen to a person . Your case is so rare and all I have to say to you is you must keep going and be happy each day ,try to forget those days when you had been through a lot of pain .
You are lucky to have a loving partner. You have been a strong person and we all must learn from you .
Bs story, of course they poisoned him , why you guys are so gullible??? They just run some story on you and you believe in it because there are people in white robes saying some Latin name. He was poisoned period. No way it is normal strep A. Attempted murder with some radioactive s. hit.
What a symbol strength, determination, and perseverance. Continued prayers and blessings.
They've done a fantastic job on your cosmetic surgery Alex you're looking good. The strength you and your family have shown is an inspiration
What an incredible story and a fantastic family. I am so elated that everything in Alex’s life just keeps on getting better and better for him and his family. Lucy is an amazing women with incredible inner strength. May God Bless the Lewis Family.
What a wonderful man Alex is. He has done so well.

This really motivates a lot of people out there whatever our circumstances. Keep the spirit THAT LIFE IS NOT ABOUT TODAY ONLY
i’ve seen his story years ago. I’m happy he’s doing well and his family has continued to support him. Sending love
Wow from where you were to how you've developed is so amazing, so happy to see your progress. Sending love from Brooklyn NY
Alex you look sensational I’m so happy to get your update God bless you and your family
The mouth graft is really looking good! Thank God it took. My ex husband was a burn victim 50% full and partial burns but though he came close to it, he did not have any amputations. I love his attitude and God bless him!
Greetings from California. Oh, I am so happy to see how well you are doing. I was devastated for you and to see you doing so well...makes my day. Beautiful man; beautiful family. Keep up the hard, but good work!
I just watched the documentary and now this. I’m so happy for you Alex! You inspire me to become a better person.
You’re an adorable man! Salute to your wife who stood up by you through your worst time.🙏🙏🙏
Learning to live again, to be alive, that’s the most important advice that I have learned from watching your videos.
