  • Making a two part silicone rubber mold out of a clay lion I sculpted. I used silicone rubber from “sterling supply”. I buy it locally in Minneapolis.
    To vent the lion I used bits of spurs wax and a wooden dowel. The lion was set into oil based clay.
    I will continue to casting this into bronze so stay tuned.

    Thanks for sharing, I'm trying to make a mold for rubber tires to go on an RC car. Its definitely not easy and a lot to think about before casting.

    Very Cool! My girlfriend and I are waiting for a silicone mold of another cluster to set up as I type 🤞 (Lost Wax this time) Anyway Thank you for sharing an I can't wait to see how it turns out!!! Cast Happy Melt Safe!!! 😁

      I’ve seen some people do some amazing lost organics casting. I tried a pinecone once. It’s didn’t go great but I know I can do better now. I hope to do it again soon.

    • @lundgrenbronzestudios
      @lundgrenbronzestudios  2 года назад +1

      I used polymer clay as the base to set the sculpture, and tin based silicone rubber to make the mold.

      @@lundgrenbronzestudios yes, buy quality clay its expensive but is gonna help your work a lot... you can see that clay is messing all around , the original and the mold.

      Do you have a recommendation? I just used polymer clay from hobby lobby.

      @@lundgrenbronzestudios I used an expensive one like Monster clay depend on the mold im making... or i Use as well WED Clay like Walter E Disney is cheap and is water-based... you can clean it with a brush and water ...
