True i think they sped up the game to make it feel smoother and ruined how the game felt compared to old beta poe ,finally we are going back to poe roots and having a game with less random one shots , and party play that is enjoyable
The animation is incredible. As is the graphics in general, art direction, sound design, and music. Amazing what happens when companies let creative people do their thing.
Actually a super cool and insightful interview. Awesome to get some knowledge on the thought process and step by step routines of different roles. It's not just cool for POE too I feel like a lot of these questions apply to gaming and animation in general, especially how dude was explaining the difference in animation from the isometric angle that's so interesting to think about.
Im so hungry for any information i can get about this game. I was very excited about d4, much less so now.. but, when i watch the preview of this game and the built in features, it gives me goose bumps. I can't wait to play it.
Very cool interview the questions cover a lot in such a short time. You deserve an in depth itw with videos and all next year :p thank you ziz and thanks to Sam and Ed for being really chill and genuine :)
Don’t forget to make death animations for monsters and have variety and look good. A sword should be able to cut limbs and mace should be able to smash. A frost enemy should break into pieces with legs and hands visible not just ice shards. Burned enemies should look burned etc etc
Dang, i wish they could've expanded a bit more on that armor & physics thingy. Secondary animations from cloth, hair, etc. always make the original animation really shine. Also, I always wondered whether it's feasable to add some sort of constraint system that makes rigid materials (e.g. plate boots) play different animations and stuff like that.
I think they should improve the character's running animations because it looks weird that the body doesn't swing while running. Currently, the body and head levitate, without any movement while running, and the rest of the limbs swing freely. There is also no animation when the character brakes from a run. Overall, the progress in animation is huge, but I'd love it if they improved it.
100 boss while Diablo IV has like 10-15 max & most are not challenge at all just hit & dodge nothing & kill them. And PoE 2 release in 1 year while Diablo IV already released.
poe2= ruthless 2.0 refill flasks in town (diablo mechanic) Poe1 already had a perfect one. slow movespeed (diablo mechanic) Combos gonna get tedious fast kill 100 bosses for stats gonna get old fast if all new characters gonna have to do that to. Jonathan rogers are designing a diablo game not path of exile 2 and streamers dont understand that. Want to feel poe2 gameplay? Play poe1 and enable ruthless mode game mode. It gets tedious fast while jonathan will tell us how much better it is Huge red flag for poe2
You did such a great job Ziz, you should feel proud :D
The animation has never felt as good. The animation in poe2 looks impactful and makes you feel empowered and powerful. Everything flows!

You can feel the passion in here! My man Ziz didn't miss a single question! So much thought and effort put into asking the right things. Good stuff!

Great job! You look sharp! I hope we get to see more "Youth Pastor Ziz" in the future.

one thing to notice is how much more healthy those POE guys look in comparison to Blizzard campfire dudes.

Hi mate, I love how thoughtful your questions are. It's so nice that you give people open space to answer with detail rather than just yes/no.
You really feel the passion and experience from these animators! GGG rocks!
Me coming from D4 and blizzard fan. POE people are nailing it. I will probably switch
You should. I'm still new to it but it's such a unique game
The animators look like viking and Ziz looks like he never walks….

The difference between this and blizzards media trained developers is night and day. Blizzard truly is soulless
Can't wait. Can't sleep. Can't eat. I need it now!
Only love and respect!
Good lad Ziz!
I hope poe 2 stays difficult and skill based and they make crafting more simple and friendly
