Because they literally talk about everything and enjoy new possibilities to explore that are legit and not alike. Nothing quite like eternal, infinite moneysink excuses to dump... money.
I’m more interested in understanding what’s going on right here…under the ice, under the oceans, in and under mountains, underneath ancient temples, monasteries, buildings, etc.
You're saying if you woke up tomorrow and the two headlines were new life at the bottom of the ocean and intelligent life discovered on another planet you'd be more interested in the sea life?! That's wild to me.
For sure it's a huge factor. But our examples of living beings living on a wide range of pressures though. from 1G to the bottom of the ocean and extremophiles underground.
I for one have seen first hand that we are not alone. While camping alone in Nelson Victoria Australia. I encountered a ship roughly 40 metres in diameter. It approached me with no sound around it's perimeter just above the tree line. It appeared to be either cloaked or semitransparent. Don't know if some time was unaccounted for but the last thing I remember is the ship hovering above me then shooting directly upwards then disappearing out of sight in the matter of a couple of seconds, literally!! Have not been camping since!
I was camping in Vancouver Canada in 94. Though the ship didn’t come as low as yours we saw something flying in a way any aircraft we have cannot. It then disappeared in a flash of light. Both me and my wife saw it at the same time.
I watched original Alien (1979) movie recently. It still is one of the best movies about external life. I instantly had a thought of Europa and Titan moons and possibility of life there.
About a dozen in our galaxy at any given time and we should hear one about every 70,000 years via radio. Like raindrops splashing in a still pond whose ripples overlap.

There's between 100 and 400 billion stars in this galaxy. Why not quite a lot more? 1 billion is a 1000 million, times 200 = 200 000 000 000 stars.
honestly its goes beyond this, empty space is not empty but is teeming with life. Even things that we consider inanimate matter such as rocks, actually are filled to the brim with life that we cant perceive. The whole universe is conscious, and many intelligent civilisations are smaller than we can see with the naked eye
Or, the universe is mostly filled with slime and bacteria. The whole history of earth, in 4.5 billion years has only produced one intelligent species that survived long enough to watch this youtube video.
@@danielchristian5541 I guess another way of saying it is what we perceive as empty space, or perhaps another way still, there is no such thing as "empty space".
I think life is exceptionally rare. The Drake Equation doesn’t factor in gas giants that suck up planet destroying asteroids, or a single moon that controls your ocean and stabilizes the planet. Or just being further out in the galaxy and away from the center. Now consider the the first stars had to be born and die for the heavy elements to even be created, and I think there’s a chance Humanity could be one of the first/ early races.
@@diamonddave16we could be early, and life will eventually form somewhere else, but there are billions of years between us and the beginning (as we figure it) of the universe that could have seen life rise and fall before Earth was even formed.
There is at the very least one, alien civilization out there: . John 8:23 So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world. .
I love how people in the scientific world always say they have written the paper and therefore that makes them unestablished person, even though it’s just a paper that any and everybody can put out there
Sort of true.. ish. Obv any of us can write something on X etc. Getting your work into a decent scientific publication is the hard bit. But yeah, the point is to get work into front of other scientists for peer review, so obviously there’s a pathway for it. What I don’t like is people quoting papers without quoting the peer review. That’s where it falls down a bit for the lay person. That’s how people get manipulated etc. papers get quoted when if you check them the peer review by other scientists is ripping them apart.
What? You seriously believe there are only 3 galaxies in the universe? Wow ok bud, here is some info for you. NASA estimates that there are between 100 billion and two trillion galaxies in the observable universe.
@derekellisCAN I don't think he's saying he doesn't believe in other galaxies - he's just correctly pointing out you can't see them with the naked eye.
@@derekellisCANyes, but from earth’s perspective and with the naked eye we only see what’s in the Milky Way galaxy. We can see other galaxies, but the point is when you look up at the innumerable stars above you are seeing a fragment of something much *much* bigger.
Infinite: Suggests that the universe has no physical boundary or end. This is a hypothesis in cosmology, though it’s debated. Limitless: Reflects the idea that the universe’s potential (for exploration, understanding, or phenomena) seems without constraint, regardless of whether it has boundaries.
@archmage_of_the_aether I think life will be common in the Universe. There will at least be lots of microbial life out there. Civilisations like us will be more spaced out... I would say at least one per galaxy. I think (if we stay alive) we will one day be able to cheat the lightspeed limit by creating wormholes and warping spacetime.
@@stewpot6998I think about this alot too... Absolutely mind blowing thought. Why does anything exist at all ?? What is existence ?? I think our universe was probably created by two universes colliding off each other.... I don't think the start of our universe was the beginning of everything.. I think there must have been something before that... I was watching something recently and the lad was saying that our universe is just a hologram... A projection from a higher dimension where time is past present and future all at the same time 🤯 Absolutely mind bending stuff 🤯
If the universe is infinite then there would be an infinite amount of alien civilizations. An infinite amount of type 0, type 1, type 2, and type 3 civilizations too and even beyond type 3. However, the universe isn’t infinite because if it was and if it is the way scientists claim it is with all the infinite civilization types, we wouldn’t be here. Instead, the universe is a carefully crafted reality created for us and by A Creator.
Who says there isn’t? What makes you say we wouldn’t be here if there was infinite civilizations? And even if there is infinite civilizations in an infinite universe, why would that mean there isn’t a god? The definition of god is the creator, so the creator not creating is a logical fallacy.
As an interested layperson, I'd like to respectfully suggest that the discussion on the search for extraterrestrial life might benefit from considering a broader range of possibilities. While I greatly appreciate the scientific approach, I wonder if we might be inadvertently limiting our perspective based on our terrestrial experience. Consider the following points: 1. Non-water-based life: We often assume that water is essential for life, but could there be life forms that evolved to thrive in entirely different chemical environments? 2. Alternative biochemistry: Might there be organisms that breathe elements or compounds unfamiliar to Earth-based life? 3. Exotic physical states: Could life exist in states of matter or energy configurations we haven't yet discovered or understood? 4. Multidimensional existence: Is it possible that life could develop and exist in dimensions beyond our current comprehension? 5. Technological or post-biological entities: Should we consider the possibility of advanced artificial intelligences or beings that have transcended biological limitations? Furthermore, if we expand our considerations beyond the purely scientific realm, we might also ponder: 6. Metaphysical factors: How would the existence of a divine being or beings affect our calculations and assumptions about life in the universe? While I deeply respect the scientific method, I believe that in pondering questions as vast as the existence of extraterrestrial life, we should remain open to possibilities that may currently lie beyond our scientific understanding or imagination.
It's insane to think that we are the only life out there when we know that WE exist. OK so we know at least ONE planet orbiting ONE star has life on it. What are the odds there are others? Oh there are nearly infinite stars and planets? Oh well I guess we'll never know...
I once heard Michio Kaku say (I think he was quoting someone else, was it Arthur C Clark?) that either we are alone in the universe or we are not and both possibilities are equally terrifying. I call bullcrap on the "equally" part. Yes aliens could be dangerous but I think its worth the risk to try to make contact and I take COMFORT emotionally in the possibility that there could be others out there. I think being alone in the universe is way scarier.
There is literally no way anyone here on earth could have this answer . Could be just us, could be infinite amount. No one knows or should even claim to know
The biggest problem with the Drake equation is that it is looking for intelligence that is rooted in materialistic reductionism rather than focussing on the underlying foundation of consciousness as a non-local phenomenon that underpins all reality.
Does it actually matter? Why would they even consider us of any particular interest? And if they do they should help us out and offer their technologies, we don't need more tourists.
😅 look at what's going on in the world. Why would they help us. U sound so naive that's unbelievable. Maybe until we all gain higher consciousness without subverting tech, resources and passing on misery due to economics If they had thought like us, they would have enslaved us, or do what we currently r doing, mining us for energy 👍
They already did just that! . There is at the very least one, alien civilization out there: . John 8:23 So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world. .
He missed a lot of filters: 1-Galactic Habitable Zone 2-Galaxy Location in Cosmic Voids 3-Star Formation and Stability 4-Presence of Rocky Planets 5-Gas Giants for Orbital Protection 6-Big Moons on Rocky Planets 7-Stable Orbital Configurations 8-Planetary Rotation and Tilt 9-Presence of Liquid Water 10-Presence of Phosphorus 11-Abiogenesis (Origin of Life) 12-Evolution of Simple Life to Complex Life 13-Long-Term Climate Stability 14-Plate Tectonics for Recycling Materials 15-Magnetic Field for Radiation Protection 16-Low Frequency of Extinction-Level Events 17-Development of Intelligence 18-Development of Technology 19- Longevity of Civilizations The results are less than one planet per galaxy, in only galaxies located in cosmic voids. The probability of us having an encounter with another civilization is almost nule. The data suggests that we may truly be alone in our galaxy and possibly even in the observable universe. Conciuosness is the rarest thing in the universe..
Also, the fact that Earth has a magnetic field that protects our atmosphere from solar radiation is critical to our planets survival and earths ability to cultivate life.
@@rikkyhernandez6511 How about a tiny sign instead ... using quantum entanglement. Instantaneous communication regardless of distance. it's already being experimentally trialled.
It’s real simple. Look at high resolution Star maps of our galaxy, get your head around the sheer size and scope of what you are looking at, then look at all the surrounding galaxies - I mean really look at them, and keep doing this daily because you will never reach the end of what is photographically available. Get onto simulations of space and have a good look around. Better yet, get hopelessly lost and try and find your way back to the one single star you believe is host to life in the cosmos. Then go and spend a few hours every night looking at the stars with your own eyes, it’s a good bet you’ll notice that it’s Las Vegas up there and there is a lot of traffic coming and going. It’s clear to this RUclipsr right here that it’s not even a question anymore. Not only is the universe full of life and civilisations, it’s clear that we are being kept in the dark about it which if true is reprehensible and traitorous. It make one wonder if there isn’t foul play afoot. Perhaps we are farmed like animals. I’ll even go so far as to suggest that a lot of our tech is alien in origin and that for the most part no one even knows where it originated but is in fact shared around.
All the scientists and with all the tech in the world don’t know the answer but this genius in the RUclips comments has worked it out. Real simple apparently 🤡
Seems to me like there's basically two models for how aliens who find us might behave, parallel to the two models for what happens when advanced human civilizations come in contact with humans still living a hunter-gatherer lifestyle: either you conquer and exploit them (the "Christopher Columbus" model) or you do what we currently do with the handful of "uncontacted peoples" still out there today: allow their development to interfere unimpeded (Star Trek's "prime directive" model). The numbers these two lay out here make it seem highly likely that there is other life out there in the universe, but what they don't discuss is how our current understanding of physics makes it basically impossible to ever travel any other star in the universe. If aliens have come to visit us, they're so much more technically advanced than us, they would look at our nuclear wars the way we look at a bunch of lions fighting over territory. I can believe that they would conquer and enslave us. I can believe they would use their advanced technology to observe without our knowledge. What's hard for me to believe is that they would just zoom around military bases flashing lights and getting everybody all worked up for no obvious reason.
Well if we assume this alien life is biological and evolved from an abiogenesis like we did then competition for resources is a definite factor of life to survive for them too. Whether or not they hold our same ethics as an advanced species is totally unknowable.
@@rikkyhernandez6511 I definitely agree that any hypothetical alien species would be completely unknowable. But what if a part of the equation is that intelligence that advances enough eventually results in an abundance of resources that changes the equation itself? We're so good at getting food, our poor people are fat, and I don't think it's a coincidence that a society so flush with resources that it counts obesity among its main problems is a society constructs a framework that allows uncontacted tribes to remain pristine. I don't know that this hypothetical alien species has the same ethics as us, but I think it's safe to say if they've developed the ability to visit us, they've move beyond the problems of scarcity of resources
if there are planets that have intelligent life it doesn't necessarily mean they evolved there maybe there's many that have been colonized and they learnt to adapt
There is at the very least one, alien civilization out there: . John 8:23 So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world. .
To be fair, our little Milkyway galaxy is unfathomably vast let alone the observable universe. Just to put things into perspective a little bit. Even we could travel at light speed, which no matter can btw(we know of), and that's 1 billion 80 million kmph, it would take us roughly 200,000 years to traverse just our little galaxy. Now, we can't travel that fast our anything close(and if we could we'd need to factory velocity time dilation too)) and there's usually several galaxy sized distances between each galaxy and more galaxies than we can see... it's just mind blowing and incomprehensible for our little chimpentine brain to guage just how depressingly unreachable anywhere outside our solar system let alone our galaxy or the universe is! The real problem for us is time. We just don't love very long individually, just a click of the fingers. However, our artificial intelligence can theoretically exist without such deadlines(no pun intended)) and can be forever while evolving and accomplishing more in just a tiny fraction of what it takes us. Humbling to think that such a brilliant and potentially terrifying entity based on "AI" owes it's existence and origins to a brief civilization of angry chimps. The legacy of the short lived fleshy creatures that were so frail and vulnerable and limited.
What if we really are IT? What if in the vastness of the cosmos, Earth is really that rare. There are so many variables that make Earth special that I don’t think the Drake equation considers.
Is it water or is it something else because water possesses oxygen which wouldn’t that apply that the planet with h20 possesses properties to retain oxygen
A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'... My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to an NDE... Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave. The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist. For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment. The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing. The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists. Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’. On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication. For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything. NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.
On Europa, there is a gang of Penguins, the top two are named Pinky and the Brain, and they sit every day and plot how to take over the Earth.........NARF!!!

For sure it's a huge factor. But our examples of living beings living on a wide range of pressures though. from 1G to the bottom of the ocean and extremophiles underground.
Nematodes and animals in the deep ocean kind of prove that it's not so difficult.
😂😂
I was camping in Vancouver Canada in 94. Though the ship didn’t come as low as yours we saw something flying in a way any aircraft we have cannot. It then disappeared in a flash of light. Both me and my wife saw it at the same time.

I think life is exceptionally rare. The Drake Equation doesn’t factor in gas giants that suck up planet destroying asteroids, or a single moon that controls your ocean and stabilizes the planet. Or just being further out in the galaxy and away from the center.

Consider the following points:
Furthermore, if we expand our considerations beyond the purely scientific realm, we might also ponder:

The Drake Equation fails before the Kendrick Equation.
No one knows or should even claim to know
Its not an answer it's a hypothesis
I believe it’s just us. It’s amazing we’re even here
Literally no one claims to know
The biggest problem with the Drake equation is that it is looking for intelligence that is rooted in materialistic reductionism rather than focussing on the underlying foundation of consciousness as a non-local phenomenon that underpins all reality.
Does it actually matter? Why would they even consider us of any particular interest? And if they do they should help us out and offer their technologies, we don't need more tourists.

Vast space. Vast distances. Limited energy. So sad.
