Listening to RV demos makes me realize just how good RV are at transforming songs and making it their own. Not that the demo singers are bad or anything but RV has this touch that turns the demo into a RV song, some sort of quality that makes me want to listen. Rookie is already not a favourite of mine but RV made it tolerable (loved the bassline too), listening to the demo reminded me of everything I hated about the song. Also, I never knew I hated the word "gushy" so much. Listening to this has been enlightening.

I think a lot of people are downplaying the amount of effort the Colleagues put into this to make this track amazing. Im a Reveluv but its really clear that what carried this track was not much the vocals but rather the production, which is lauded by many critics and musicians for how crisp and unique it is (despite the quirky lyrics). Of course it goes without saying that RV’s vocals absolutely killed it and their approach to the song vocally definitely added more depth to the track. But honestly the true stars of this song for me are the producers who put in so much thought into the insane instrumental. Well done, Colleagues and Red Velvet!

Not saying that this is how it should be, but I'm just saying that we should give credit where credit is due. The girls vocals made the track, NO DOUBT. I agree with that. But, who do you think was in the studio guiding them and who rewrote the track in to a style that would fit Red Velvet? The musicians over at SM. Red Velvet completed the track, but it would've been impossible without the steps that came before hand. I think a lot of people are downplaying the amount of effort the Colleagues put into this to make this track amazing. Im a Reveluv but its really clear that what carried this track was not much the vocals but rather the production, which is lauded by many critics and musicians for how crisp and unique it is (despite the quirky lyrics).
Of course it goes without saying that RV’s vocals absolutely killed it and their approach to the song vocally definitely added more depth to the track. But honestly the true stars of this song for me are the producers who put in so much thought into the insane instrumental. Well done, Colleagues and Red Velvet!

Not saying that this is how it should be, but I'm just saying that we should give credit where credit is due. The girls vocals made the track, NO DOUBT. I agree with that. But, who do you think was in the studio guiding them and who rewrote the track in to a style that would fit Red Velvet? The musicians over at SM. Red Velvet completed the track, but it would've been impossible without the steps that came before hand.
I wish K-Pop fans would give more credit to musicians AND that they stop getting upset over facts. Especially when they aren't intended to be insulting.
