Hey I just got done watching the video tip also quick tip I also use the Irig recorder app I use that on my phone to record a audio mix that I use as well and it works just in case if your laptop can't go through it try that as well :) Funk Up Salute Peace
My favorate application in windows for capture is BUTT, intended for streaming to IceCast/ShoutCast for online radio but it can be used to record. Once loaded I have another app called friture that analyses the audio input very useful!. Now while I dont use a Virtual Cable you still can, As I have a capure/stream pc, I use a Beringer UCA222 to capture the line out from my controller/mixer and that goes stright back out the output side to the sound system. One thing to watch out for with the Beringer UCA222 it identifys as a mono microphone to windows, so you need to go into sound settings and make it a stereo microphone.
I use Logic and Ableton live, and whenever I try to hook up my dj controller, it reads the jog wheels as me playing a note, same thing with the hot cue pads. And the more pads I have active the longer the note sustains. I’ve turned off the dj controller as a control surface for MIDI already as well. Anyone know how I can get rid of this? Otherwise it works just how Terry demonstrates in the video.
This is so weird. When I record tracks from Tidal in (with Audacity) Serato with the checkbox ticked on, the recording is completely off (double kickdrums instead of a normal one), but when I turn the checkbox OFF, it records it fine. I did have to install IshowU though, but I'm not using that vac. If I deinstall IshowU, it records it directly from the webcam microphone which, as we all know, sounds like a dogfart. This is so weird. MacOS BigSur here (as my 2015 MBP according to Apple's updatesystem is ancient).
How do you prevent overpowering? I recorded my set on QuickTime and it saved the file as a w4a. The playback sounds good directly from the original file. But when I upload it to SoundCloud or Google Drive it sounds distorted. Any advice here?
Will this be higher quality than recording it into QuickTime? Cause after playing back a set I recorded into quick time it sounded really tinny and distorted. Thanks for the video!!
Cleveland, you know I have to put in a plug for VDJ. Can you test to see if VDJ will let you record a mix in VDJ from online content? I have not subscribed to any yet to test.
Its possible, install virtual cable , add a master output to the virtual cable, use an app to captue the virtual cable, I like to use BUTT to do that task, intended for Radio but has a record feature.

Loopback works incredibly, you can also route sound to other channels.

I’m using a Denon prime 4 on a Mac pro I do not want to use Serato, how can I record my mixes while using tracks from TIDAL
You can’t. You’d have to record externally.
