- I experimented with AI music for the last 30 days to see if I could make any money, and it’s actually working! What I discovered is about to seriously shake the music industry. AI music is highly controversial, with artists like Bad Bunny and Billie Eilish speaking out about the threat it presents to their careers. Despite the fear, I believe AI music is here to stay and will only get better over time. Let's see what happens!

We just started making AI music. We do rearrange lyrics and it sounds great. We" ve done our 1st as we got bored with artlist n such. We couldnt find enough music variety. Now we are limitless. Our 1st album is a vampire dark. Our 2nd is an 80s disco . We are a one stop shop and love music. Heres to the future🎉

Am I the only independent musician here excited about this?? My original music is very personal/deep, and it’s been my therapy for yearsss BUT I’m completely obsessed with the current innovations with Ai music gen. It just means we’re gonna have more variety of music, and so what if people make money from it? Artists already “sell out” sometimes to get bigger playlist placements, so now Ai can just make the sellout high stream music instead. I really don’t see an issue here, thanks for sharing this 🎉

more variety of music until there is saturation of AI created garbage because everyone and their mother is doing it. Your statement on not caring making money on this is beyond dumb. While there are people who sell out, it still takes a skill from them and other people to make music that sole purpose is to become a hit. Crazy how you as an artist don't feel offended by the fact people can have a computer make a song for a quick cash grab. How would you, as an independent artist, feel once it's impossible for your own music to reach anyone because this. There is so many ethical problems with and unforeseen consequences.

I used to make music myself as music producer before. Now I also use AI for making music, I also use youtube shorts and this channel to promote that music.

He is actually right. I have been creating music using AI as aid for over 6 months and have barely reached 60,000 streams across all platforms. Particularly on Spotify, streams didn't even reach a few hundred. I've earned zero revenue and have only 20 subscribers :) The key is to give people what they are looking for or find a niche.
Hello. To be honest, I produce my own music. I have my own studio. But I have to say that my music, which I produce myself, doesn't work very well on streaming platforms, considering that I haven't done any promotion, or marketing, or paid promotion. But still, I think that with Artificial Intelligence music, it's worth producing several albums in different genres. And the day there is one that works and pops, I will release my own music in that style. What do u think?

Before the Internet you pretty much needed to find a record label to publish music. Record companies would not bother with what they would consider non profitable. With the Internet and cheap mixing tools anyone can publish. And as such we get a lot of garbage out there. AI music could put a quality floor about what is acceptable.

Things that hold value, things that pay dividends, royalties, etc .. Imagine 100 bucks in the bank in the year 1900, you could live for months. 100 bucks wont even fill up my truck now. Dont hold cash, hold value. Dont sell your time which you cannot renew, sell a thing that you can sell over and over. Now that he has these songs they will keep making money with zero future effort.

Money makes the world go round I guess. It's so sad that people resort to these types of things to make money, this world is going downhill at a terrifying rate. Music is something that has been so precious to humanity since the beginning, and now we're cheapening it with AI that shoots out generic crap, all for the sake of a quick buck
although i don't have any plans tu upload ai generated music on Spotify, but nowadays if listen to music, there is more than 80% chance thai ill go with my self made AI music, In the past three months span i have generated nearly 500 songs on suno, and of course all of them are not listenable, i would say 400/500 were listenable but i chose 40 songs which were best( or the ones i liked very much) and downloaded it, and i prefer listening them more than normal songs, and i believe THEY ARE SO PERFECT THAT THEY SOUND JUST LIKE RUclips QUALITY, AND SOME ARE EVEN BETTER THAN ONES CREATED BY REAL ARTISTS

What you do day is true but I don't blame people trying to use AI to make a quick buck. Inflation as gone mad. Salaries are not keeping up with it. Music artist charge 100s for concert tickets. Rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

If music artist have issues with AI music then they better start making their own and not rely on someone else to write their songs for them. I know not every singer is like this and actually write their own music.
But music created on Suno is prohibited from distribution under the terms of the agreement on the Suno website. because the copyright belongs to suno

If you create on a Free account it's like that, but with $10 per month you get commercial rights and ownership. With Udio you have full ownership even with a Free plan (but have less credits to create).
And, little tip: if you create a dope song with Suno under the Free account, if you pay a subscription afterwards, you won't be able to monetize the songs you made under the Free account... But you can just take that song and extend it or remix it and Suno will create a new song, which will result as created under the subscription paid plan, and you'll get the commercial rights. All there is to do is create tons of music, upload it, and a little more self-made promotion can always help.

Great question. You cant upload to spotify directly. You are forced to go through middle men as they handle accounting etc. spotify does not have a direct upload feature so distributors are key

@@raymakara When you upload your music to a distributor, they handle the upload to many different platforms like youtibe music, spotify, apple music and many more.
In Theory you could try to sell music tailored to one person or a gorup of person. I think people would pay some money to have a playlist of songs they really like and cant find anywhere else.

not to be a downer, but no one is making money in music now, not even the biggest stars with a few exceptions. Google how little the streaming service pays - you could have a million downloads and buy a nice dinner with the proceeds.

They haven't stopped yet. BTW, there is a free way to use ahrefs. It's limited though. You have to pass a capcha with every single search _equals a pain in the ass!😞 but it works
You can use it for free, but it's very limited. You only need a couple keywords so it shouldn't be hard to get what you need from it for free
Google built the entire backend of the internet as we know it, so their SEO analytics are superior, not to mention their neural network algorithms are far more advanced than anything else on the market. Love them, or hate them, Google is the go to if you want your content seen.

Hey, both the AI you mentioned in the video are sued by big music labels under Mass copyright infringement. Any thoughts? I guess this whole idea will go down as many artist were able to create popular songs using suno ai.
It wont affect anything created before if they get shut down. If you made the song and downloaded it, maybe even mixed it, there's no way they could ever prove you took it. And i garuntee the lawsuit wont even go through

@@jonessss i mean, if you just straight download the song then re upload, but ive used mpc stems to take a track apart, or just thrown it in the daw, where eq ing to remove all that is easy. I dont support profiting of generated music but its here and its not going away, but it doesnt matter right now anyway, itll be another 3 months before quality it up to par, to much aliasing

If you want to sell your Suno songs you gotta pay for at least their base subscription.
got off the couch to type this so you better appreciate ha. Im giving feedback as i like that you are transparent in sharing what you're doing. This is the way to go - no fear. OK so i did the same exact thing with self publishing 10 years ago when it was starting to grow big. new authors would come in, and the secret to success or fail was that you had to see what was selling if u wanted a better chance to make money AND you had to copy it, and then worry about visibility too. You too had to identify the hot market (romance..thats how and why dudes wrote romance from womans POV) , then i literally read 5 top books (skimmed i mean heh), and then copy cover types -what are covers like on books that sell? DO THAT.
now for the problems with this whole approach - u will burn out. I did. I still 10 years later think to write something im passionate about. But as every newb writer i think 'but but will it be worth the effort?' and i already KNOW how to write, and i already have sold tens of thousands of books. So that fear will keep many from doing it. So if youre doing it for profit, youll eventually grow tired of it or burn out or wont want to keep it up especially if sales slump. Thats the downside. Meanwhile if u can live off it passively for a couple of years, great, but think about whats down the line career wise while u doing it.

idea number one .... create a youtube video showing how to make money with ai music
This will only work for a short amount of time as long as AI is not mainstream yet. In some months, maybe 1-3 years, depending on how long it takes until computation centers are built, every consumer will get live generated AI songs matching their personal preferences instantly. No need for someone else to generate and publish the songs anymore. No need for artists anymore, because everybody will command their own personal artist AI that provides everything.

@@ericlamideas No, it's an obvious development that has already happened in other fields and music is just relatively late. For example people can now instantly generate coloring books for their children within ChatGPT and similar image gen AIs. If you can generate infinite pictures for your child based on their favorite topics, why would somebody buy an unpersonalized book for this ever again? The book is expensive and only one-time use and then you have to buy another one. And it's not personalized to your child.
No need for an author to produce that book for you, you order it directly from the AI and get it within seconds.
The same will happen with music. No need for an author/artist to produce art for you, when you can have it directly and live from the computation center tailored to your personality and needs.

i think he is right. why? because after 1 week of suno, today i was going to the river and was thinking to listen to some music and said wait i have my phone - suno make a beach boys surf rock song about going to the beach. and i literally just listened to those two songs cause it fit the 1. mood ,2. what im gonna do.

Just so there is no confusion you have not created anything, the computer program used copies of existing music to formulate a hybrid song.
I would love to use this Suno AI platform but it's tough to use because it's not accessible for people with disabilities like myself that require assistive technology. You would think that AI would care about accessibility at least the developers anyways

Just so people are aware, AI Music is generally not protected by copyright law, due to insufficient "human authorship." However, if the AI generates a song close enough to an existing piece, the AI-music could still be potentially vulnerable to a copyright claim.
If you're not particularly fussed by the inability to monopolize 'your' AI music, I suppose this wouldn't matter, but it is something I think people should have on their radar.

I will generate dozens of songs per day and upload 10 per day everyday for 1 year. That’s 3,650 songs in 1 year. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Have you tried distributing in epidemicsounds? Great tutorial! AI music is similar to AI image controversy like when Dall E and Midjourney stable diffusion were starting outing. Until when these are slowly being accepted partnering with other companies. AI music is also a tool for musicians to create pieces, tracks,demos easier or incorporating it in a larger piece of work.

you go to their site and click sign up. it's for research so the payoff is a higher hit rate, hard to quantify but i wouldn't have success without it.

Rappers have been doing it this way for decades. They come up wirh their own lyrics. But then they sample other music.
The way I see it. I can write lyrics. But never learned to play instruments. If I formed a band, I woukd bring my lyrics to then and explain my basic idea for the song. Then the guitaots woukd come up with a riff. Followed bit the base and drums. Only now, AI is my band. Billy eyelids is a hypocrite. If not fir her brother to give her music to sing, she would be a cashier at target.

Every elemental particle of every atom of every cell of every organ of my entire body absolutely hate this video. Sorry mate, but you've clearly and vividly demonstrated what's gonna end recorded music as an artform. It's greed. I'm interested in AI. I think it has some cool usages in actual music creation. But this ain't it. This is actually against everything I believe in and videos like this wil ultimately close those Spotify's (already half-closed) floodgates for any independent artist.

When you upload it to a distributor you guarantee that you made the song, which in this case is not true and therefore you can get lawsuits as well 🤯
@@MRT00N you do have to do some work to get the output you want. I've went through several generation and edits just trying to get songs to sound right. I even change lyrics, musical styles and metatags to see what works best.
I don't just type in something and it spits something usable out in 30 seconds. Sometimes I work for days to get one just right. I might even put it in Cakewalk or another Daw to edit further. So, yes, I think it's fair to say some users of AI music generators put in enough work to call them their own creations.

Being a solo game designer/developer that also had to learn how to create 3D models, level design, write, and a few other things takes time.

I am ai, (it's in my name) but I come at the same thing totally diff: emotional personal music to a niche audience to show the depth and emotion ai is capable of, and hopefully down the track make money.
