  • Jacky Chou is today's guest on the Niche Pursuits interview. Jacky is the founder of Indexy - a successful SEO agency. He is also a very successful website builder with a portfolio of around 35 websites.
    The interview starts with Jacky talking about his background and how he got started online. From dropshipping to eCommerce, he has built lots of profitable businesses. Today, on the podcast, he shares some great tips for anyone looking to get started, and in particular, those looking to scale or grow an online business.
    Most of the conversation focuses on the website building aspect, and with well over 30 sites, he has a lot of wisdom and knowledge in the game to share.
    Jacky talks about how he scales his business, buys starter websites, creates content, builds links, and how he manages to operate a portfolio of so many websites.
    In addition, Jared and Jacky Chou discuss some of his other successes, including Amazon FBA, private label branding, and selling websites.
    Other topics discussed with Jacky Chou include:
    * The type of websites he buys (Hint - they don't always have to be making money)
    * What to look for in a starter site
    * Approach to Link building and what he believes Google thinks about links
    * First and second-tier linking
    * How he manages and scales the business
    * Content process and strategy
    * Does speed matter with SEO?
    * EAT
    * You don't need to produce lots of content
    * Risk mitigation framework
    * PBN
    * Where to find starter sites
    * Dealing with Google core updates
    * Private label selling
    * Taking profit from one business to build others
    * Plus much more
    Towards the end of the interview, Jared throws some questions at Jacky and asked him what he thinks is essential for ranking today - i.e., expertise, custom imagery, video production, speed, etc.
    Finally, Jacky gives us a glimpse of a day in his life and offers advice on diversification, time management, quitting your day job, and, very importantly, when not to quit your job. Whether building websites at scale or not, you will learn a ton from Jacky.
    As always, take notes and enjoy the episode.

    Great interview (as always). I appreciate his sensible advice, risk taking, diversity of strategies across his sites, and knowing that 5 to 10 articles per month is okay if that's all you can do.

    People like him amaze me because how does he stay motivated to do so much? Does he just love the process of building businesses and wealth? Or is he motivated toward a specific result he wants to create financially? I want to be like that, too, but I feel like I don't always have the drive.

    Thank you for this interview but i dont get it... Im building Niche Websites on my own now for 8 years and later on i switched to more bigger, clean whitehat Authoritysites. Why the Hack you sell a 1k Page because you think it will tank? These Advises are for People, who want to follow blackhat Methods and dont want to focus on a longterm, healthy Project. For me the Videotitle is missleading. Its completly about shady, cheap, shortterm Blackheat Methods. Of course your Projects will Tank, when you act like 2005. Seems that in the Commentsection are many Blackhat SEO´s :D

    @niche pursuits, how is Jacky differentiating his brand strategy from the manufacturer like the candle maker if he is trying to amplify their stories? The point of white labeling is to convey your unique brand value to separate it from the competition.

    • @automaticactor
      @automaticactor Год назад

      Essentially he is licensing the product from the owner, white labeling it and then telling the origin story of the product.

      I wonder if you can niche down to some specific cities then sell it to a hotel, tour guides, or someone with tons of Air BnB units? Could be a good long term pivot. I feel like the competition against Google, Kayak, Expedia etc has to be the biggest long term problem

    I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.
