    It's removed as stated in the video, you can still see the depressions it made in the finished resin.

    That's awesome stuff. Can I buy in the UK for small parts? Thanks.

    How many parts will this make assuming no handling damage?

    If the vacuum is on during the cure, what stops the resin from flowing out of the part and into the pump?

    This seems to be promising. I suppose if you use infuse epoxy using this kind of bag, it has some transparency to see the progress of procedure under the bag right?

      The few that I have done showed very nicely, but we dye our resin black so that would help.

    This looks like exactly what i need, so i don`t have to get the giant spray gun. Do you have to put releasewax on the inside for a carbon/epoxy part? Is this bag suitable for infusion or RTM? Any european distributor?

    wow. were did the peel ply and breather fabric go right before the demolding at 8:47 ?

    • @iambeeman1
      @iambeeman1 4 года назад

      The peel ply was there when they popped the bag, but they removed it off camera for the pulling of the part.

    "Apply vacuum ... 158 kPa"? What school did you finished buddy.. Absolute Vacuum is 1 bar = 100 kPa. Nice technology, and would be even better if it had integrated breather.

      Gregory F Apply vacuum 158kPa basically means apply suction up to 158kPa. Only a nerd like you couldn't get it.

      Lol, another badass ninja in pysics.. Usually, it's not a big deal to make a mistake, but you're just not well educated and not well mannered. The maximum achievable "suction" at normal atmospheric pressure is -101.3 kPa. At this pressure there are not any atoms which could interact with each other and produce any pressure. If someone other than this moron would like to improve their knowledge about vacuum, I recommend site: www.fram.nl/workshop/vacuum/index.htm

      You all missed "23 psi"....vacuum is measured in inches of mercury not psi.

    Approximately how thick did the bag in the video end up? Was it as little as 2 mm? Closer to 3 or 4 mm? Thicker than that?

      ***** I would take a look at Smooth-On's Technical Bulletin, as it provides the recommended thickness and coverage rate. www.smooth-on.com/tb/files/EZ_BRUSH_VAC_BAG_SILICONE.pdf

      Stephen Westbury, thank you for the reply and the link. That does indeed answer my main questions. I had looked at a whole bunch of stuff on the Smooth-On website but had not run across that info. Also, EZ-Brush was not listed in the Material Calculator.

      ***** It more than likely because it is a brushable material and is harder to figure out the exact math. There are simply too many variables.

    • @smoothon
      @smoothon  9 лет назад

      It depends on where you measure as some reinforced sections are thicker. I would think 2-4 mm would be an average bag thickness for production infusion.
