I love this video because:
1) there's no intro clip
2) there's no music
3) you get started right away
4) you know what you're doing
Thanks for the great tutorial, man! I subscribed 👍
Agreed!
The Canadian accent is a nice touch too
I also like that he shows when things dont go the way you want them to or over exaggerate how easy it is by starting somewhere other than the corner.
agreed
And no life story!
I actually really like how you show no one is perfect and everyday problems happen to you as well. You got a subscriber for actually breaking that piece of trim!
We like to keep it real Cam, thanks for subscribing
Yes, that's what I thought too. After all those things are going to happen in real life situations, may as well include them to show it's ok
I love that the video shows how it works in the real world - you know that the first thing that will happen is that a piece will break! Definitely going to try doing this myself now, it looks easy (she says...)
Yup, what he said.
This man is the saviour of the 2020 home improvement lockdown pandemic
you are the best contractor trainer. I am a home inspector. I have watched your videos on window, vinyl siding and many other installations. all your procedures are based on the most textbook guidelines without any short-cut . 💯👍
I know there are many contractor youtubers with more than a million subscribers but after watching some of their videos, i noticed that they make short-cuts in different installations that can raise any home inspector red flag.
I hope to see more videos from you.
Awesome, thank you!
I am sorry if my question is not related to your videos. I just wanted to ask my question in the comments.
As a general rule I know that the drywalls should not be tight in place and recommendation is to consider 1/4 inch short but I don’t know how in practice!
For example in ceiling:
Must the first sheet be tight against the corner or considered 1/4 inch gap against the corner? What about the next sheet beside it? And the last sheet on ceiling?
And the then after hanging on ceiling, the same questions for walls?
Would you please explain me or if you have a video about it, refer it to me?
Thanks
Great video! Another tip: If you break a piece, don't throw it away. Keep it to make it easier to measure the replacement you'll have to cut later.
💯
You can wood glue it back together too if it's small.
Thank you! Wicked smart.
Be sure to watch to 10:08 for the best new tip I saw when reviewing baseboard videos. Overall, great video, but once he gets through with the main gist you are tempted to cut out before the end. The tip about using the big bar underneath was worth watching to the end. [Except for YT's 3rd ad near the end, but hopefully they give this guy something for it.]
YES! I will benefit from that tomorrow, to be sure.
This was the BEST instructional video I've ever seen! Lots of tips I didn't know I needed. Thank you!
Thank you from 3 years in the future! Very helpful.
Thank you for this video. I really like how thoroughly, yet simply, you explained how to remove baseboards. And thanks for not having some kind of annoying music playing over your voice. Really appreciate the simple, yet effective production!
Thanks for demonstrating on the fiddly bits at the *end* of the wall and not just the long stretches.
Hello, Shannon. You are so helpful, knowledgeable, and likeable. I always tell my women friends who are trying to do a repair to go on RUclips and find home improvement videos by men who are Canadian, not U.S. men, because I have found you all are so community minded, kind, and generous. I found your channel today, and you have proven and reinforced that observation.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you! I approached my baseboards with crowbar in hand, stopped, thought, "I should watch a RUclips video, first."
You saved not only our wall, but I was able to save my baseboard for future use!
Thank you!
Excellent video ! You just put my local handyman out of at least one job !
I have been watching your video one after another for 4+ hr...... enjoy all of them!
I don’t have to remove any baseboards but if I did, man this was a perfect video!!
Then y u watching this video??
Funny enough, I was going to say something similar. I hope I don't have to remove the baseboards for my project. But I watched just in case. And now I know how if I do.
@@JAYZSLAYER01 because knowledge is power!!
@@KBlue728 Kim you made me smile
Still the best home improvement channel.
Nice tip with using a small scrap of wood to protect the wall. Last weekend I removed the baseboards in my foyer and kitchen in preparation to install vinyl floors. I used a tool called the Zenith trim puller that I found extremely useful. Unfortunately for me, the prior homeowners used the wrong nail type when they installed the trim so I had to be extra careful so as not the break the baseboards in half. Somehow only one small corner piece broke in half.
Shannon is easily the top home repairman on RUclips. I wish i knew one percent of what he knows.
Thank you
I like the way that corner design looks!
Good video! Thanks much. I also suggest using a 6” putty knife to use in place of the wood to protect the wall. Bill
Thank you!
I am fixing to remove them from my bathroom, good idea!
