I know I am a bit late on this but i was looking for videos on Americade as I am getting ready to go up in June. So Americade 2021 was moved to September because of Covid. It has been the first week of June since it was moved from CA to NY. They didn't have it at all in 2020. For some reason they had Americade and the balloon festival on the same weekend. Balloon festival had nothing to do with Americade. Not sure why they did that. Like you said the ridding up there is the best. BTW the hotel you stayed at was built on a18th century burial ground. If your looking for the best ice cream you have to go to Martha's on 9 in Queensbury across from The great Escapes park you wont be disappointed. There was a time the village of Lake George had a sign as you entered the village saying NO MOTERCYCLES ALLOWED. LOL
Love your channel I ride 1984 XL350R and have hard time with parts old man just trying to have fun and stay up right hope to visit museum some day you guys rock.
Watch your stuff from the museum and now happy to see you post a video on Americade. My wife and I love Lake George and Americade - first started attending when it was call the Aspencade East. Sadly, your border is still closed to us in the Great White North. Hopeully, next season we will be able to travel to the USA once more. Also, want to see your museum. tks for the video.
Hey kap a question I want to go the americade 2022 but I can only make it Saturday how late are the vendors there till being it’s the last day of the rally and do u think it’s worth it thank you enjoy all your vids brother
Hey Kap , how you doing! I used to go to Americade way back in the early '80s when it was called Aspencade East.. Use to go every year for many years in a row. And let me tell you this. I was up there this Tuesday morning of this week. An Americade is nothing like it used to be. It is so small now compared to what it was a few years ago. I think it's on it way out. No venders like they use to have there. No custom pinstripers. Like they use to have. It really sucked. To say the least. But wish I could have seen you there. Cause I met you at unadilla when you're over there and I shook your hand you're a great man Kap. God bless you Sir: 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Actually I've been coming here the last 15 years or so and it still was pretty big 2 years ago until covid hit and they did not have the event of the event and now the scheduled it really late this really late in the season when all of the vendors that come up here for Laconia already gone. The manufacturers are still all here and today's gonna be a pretty big day on Saturday. That combined with the fact that they were predicting heavy continuous rain when is it continuous rain Wednesday Thursday into Friday to Friday most of the people bailed II almost didn't come up the only reason I gave is we prepaid for the rooms and I couldn't get the refund so I figured what the hell we'll just go up and hang out in the hotel luckily the weather turned around it's been fantastic absolutely amazing riding and and weather. I'll be getting some video today I'm pretty sure main streets gonna be packed the other problem is it's freezing cold here at night since it's almost October And a lot of the riders that are touring riders ride their bikes up here And don't wanna ride in the freezing cold at night June is a much better time for the event. Sorry for the Typos this is speech to text and I just woke up I haven't had my 1st coffee at lol we're gonna hit the road and check it out. It's really hard to take an event that's been running for this long and switch it to another time of year it just doesn't work They need to bring it back to June but they used to. Anyways glad you came up have a great day God-bless you too brother
@@KaplanCycles Yes , they even had Free parking in that huge Park by the Lake. It use to fill up with cycles. And that is No more. And the Venders were down the road from where they are now inside a huge tent covering.. plus all other venders surrounding it. The Lake George area is Beautiful like most of Up State NY. But Americade is not what it use to be. ☹️. Thanks for getting back to me. God bless Kap. Have a safe trip home Sir : 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Hey where are you guys at? I seen you there videotaping. I was going to try to do the same and get my Channel going a little bit but I was on my honeymoon as well.
Attendance dropped precipitously after State Police set up road blocks many years ago. They were sneaky and set them up just after the exit so you could not go around them. They then confiscated (aka stole) numerous amazing bikes (to sell at auction) if the vin on the frame didn't match the motor, etc. They would never do this in ND. The po-po knew damn well that many of these bikes (many veteran owned and LOVED and were handed down from past generations and friends who are no longer here), were hand built machines using various random parts including salvage parts when motors blew or frame got damaged from crashes. Many were one of a kind machines and they were essentially stolen unless bikers kept paperwork and receipts like a CPA. Even if they did, if they didn't have all that paperwork on them- bike was gone. This left a horrible taste in the mouth of many- not just bikers. This confiscation very definitely negatively impacted future collected tax revenue for the event as well. Hotel bookings dropped. It use to be stopped dead traffic for about 1/2 mile going through the main town. Now you can usually ride right on through and there is plenty of hotel availability. They killed the golden goose and it was not fair.
ever notice harley riders n sport bike riders are the same they all pull in the clutch n rev the shit out of the motor so people can make sure they hear them lol
