This month I turn 78, I have been on the Ketogenic diet for one year on June 13. I have lost 34 pound, no longer use Insulin, lost 10 inches of my waist, my chronic low back pain gone! my high blood pressure gone, I feel so much better, to loose weight being a diabetic 2 on insulin and a female is almost imposible. I also follow Intermittent fasting for 16 hours daily, plus I am never hungry.

this is the most coherent and well explained video on a ketogenic diet I have seen on RUclips thus far. I have been on this diet for nearly a year now eating predominantly saturated animal fats I had severe type 2 diabetes and in January this year was 18 stones in weight I have so far lost 38 kg which in English lbs is 84 lbs my diabetes has completely gone I have lost a massive 10 inches of my weight never done any exercise and now look like I go down the gym which I do not and at the age of 54 I consider an excellent achievement I no longer have to take diabetic medication( metformin) and my blood pressure is now better than normal I had severe cramps in my legs due to blocking of the arteries blood flow and also the onset of peripheral neuropathy losing the feeling in my feet and lower legs this has now been completely reversed I thoroughly recommend this diet to anyone the guy in this video is speaking the absolute truth!!!

I have just started my LCHF program, I am 54, I was tired of being tired, of being overweight, when I started my withdrawal from sugar was the worst, I have given up beer, breads, pastas etc oh and potatoes, I was 145kg, dropped 5kg in 2 weeks once I went onto a Keto program, dropped the margerine and replaced it with 'FATS' butter, cheese, high fat meats, offal (liver etc) and I feel like I have been reborn............ I can even walk for fun now, I just cried when I listened to this Dr.

Hi, I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Robin’s, his wealth of knowledge is mind blowing. Sadly Robin left Australia due to it's narrow mindedness and complete lack of understanding, instead of listening to new innovative ideas Australians have chosen instead to be brain washed by large pharmaceutical companies. Robin has now moved to the USA, I miss our chats and his knowledge. I have been to other epigenetic specialists in Melbourne and I can't find anyone as good as Robin. If anyone knows of one please let me know. I wish you all the best Robin.

Doc you are so right, cortisol rises in the morning to get us going for the hunt, and cortisol is much lower just after 11 as we are just about to get our first natural meal for the day.
How disconnected are modern humans from their own physiology, that we now eat a whole lot of sugar when we get up and spike our insulin/IGF1 and cortisol, and wonder why we feel like crap after an hour of eating this way.

Let's discuss triglycerides (TGs)- DIETARY TGs do not cause any harm, it is the TGs transported in the blood stream that are associated with increased risk of heart disease but that does not mean TGs cause heart disease (CVD). It may simply be a reflection of an abnormal fat metabolism that is then intimately associated -or even causative. A high BLOOD TG level needs to be addressed. LCHF lowers TG very well for most people. On the cancer drug(s): cannabis is clearly in need of intensive investigation.

I use TONS of fattening foods and pretty much eliminated all Carbs and Sugar from my diet. I have a lot of Steak, Eggs, Butter, Coconut Oil and sometimes throw in Spinach or Avocados. I'm talking tons of food lol. I eat till im satisfied and I'm assuming Im taking in around 3000+ Calories a day or more if you add up the MCT Oil i consume. This is the first time ever that ive been under 10% Bodyfat. My strength in the gym is still good and my overall feeling is good. I can't imagine ever going back to Sugary Carb loaded foods, I just dont crave them anymore. I used to be a skinny kid since I played a lot of Basketball in High School and played non stop across different Parks here in NYC. When i began my career and then serious GF, I went from 160 to 270 pounds in 5 years. I felt sick and was probably close to a heart attack considering the amount of soda and pizza i was eating on a daily basis, along with Snicker Bars, Chips Ahoy Cookies, Bagels etc. When the shit hit the fan in my life, I went from 265 down to 160 and have been around 165 - 170 ever since. What he said about fat is true. They did a study where a few people ate 5000 calories of fat only per day and managed to lose weight. If you ate 5000 calories of carbs a day, you'd be obese.

    • @biblebill6206
      @biblebill6206 8 лет назад

Wrong , fat makes you fat . Fat has 9 calories to a gram protein and carbs have 4 . Look at the American diet lots of refined carbs but also lots of fat [ saturated] from animal meats[ red and pork] . What about all the study's [ Pritkin , Ornish] showing you can reverse heart disease going meatless[ red pork] . ? We were meant to live of the land [ plant based ] pure and simple whole grains fruit/ veg . There are exceptions to the rule, like people who live in extreme cold temp [ Eskimos] they need a high fat diet , but that's not you or me . Check out my site [ [foundation of nutrition the bible ] . Google it . What about the new study that just came out in Aug about the benefits of whole grains . How could something whole be bad .

Fat has 9 calories per gram , carbs and protein 4 . Fat makes you fat common sense . The American diet is high fat animal meats [ red and pork ] as well as high" refined" carbs white bread , pastries, candy bars etc .People are way overweight because they eat lots of red meat and pork . It's actually hard to become overweight if you abstain from animal meats .

Correction to the idea that dwarf wheat is genetically engineered or grown because it is easy to harvest. It's actually a hybrid of dwarf Japanese wheat called Norin 10 that predates genetic engineering and it has massively higher yield because the shorter stalks don't break when it's windy under a higher seed load.

    • @truthsayer9847

my focus and concentration pretty much increased about five fold after the start of intermittent fasting. I no longer feel sleepy after each meal and I feel more alert than on high carb diet. The downside for me is having only a 5-6 hour sleep at night instead of 8-10 hr sleep. I workout a lot too so my body composition improved noticeably (less abdominal fat) but I have not gained a lot of muscle even though I am on caloric surplus. I think I am still capable of gaining and / or maintaining my strength though.

Extremely informative and vital information!!!! I can't say enough about how completely blessed I personally feel having come across this video in my research today!!!!!!! Everything you were so passionately stating in your lecture I TOTALLY AGREE WITH 100%!!!!!!!!!! It is completely devastating what the grain and big pharmaceutical companies has done to the world knowingly so...... It is so interesting how they hold money to the highest level over everything else.... I am so very concerned for my grandchildren's health if the food industries don't make huge changes in the very near future. Our water is another huge health disaster that is rarely spoken of!!!!
I am so very much appreciate your time and passion in getting the information to the masses... I feel confidence knowing I am at least doing the right things for my health and well-being.... I am currently on a ketogenic lifestyle eating plan, fasting, sole pink himalayan water, on and on....walking a little. I purchased a Bellicon rebounder as I have knee issues and feel it would be best to for cleaning out my lymphatic system. I feel so much better and the weight is melting off and my brain is firing off better than it has in years!!! Very refreshing and I feel great hope for myself and family now.... I know what I need to do now to get where I should have stayed weight wise 40 years ago...when the changes were starting in the food industries.
I did put your book in my cart on Amazon for my next order. I do feel the title may confuse many people though. I also believe that people have been so brain-washed that they will refuse to accept the real truth of the matter!!!! Only by seeing lives of others dramatically changed will they become more open minded!!!
God bless you Dr. Willcourt over and over! Keep up the teachings on this amazing world changing truth everyone single person deserves to know!!!! Warmest of hugs!!!! Pam

Just one small point The Hadza tribe love honey and very occasionally (not often) stuff themselves with it. Personally to perform explosive sports such as power lifting or sprinting I require cyclical macro nutrient profiles tailored to my current training. Although if wanting to loose weight, perform any endurance activity, maintain muscle mass/build slowly or just feel consistently energetic throughout the day I would want to be ketone adapted. 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs. Blood tests, electrolytes and quality sleep in the beginning are great ideas. Can be tough to adapt but its worth it!

Great lecture! One easily accessible example of your thesis that better technology is opposed by the "health care industry" was the American Hospital Association's reaction to coated cardiac stents. The coating made them less likely to deteriorate, reducing the need for additional procedures to replace them. The AHA actually opposed their use since it would reduce hospital revenue, ignoring the cost and risk to patients.

Came here from Dr Willcourt's blog and features on low testosterone. Interesting video on Paleo. As a sport and exercise nutritionist my knowledge and recommendations for healthful living are nearly 180 degrees in opposition to the Drs. However, he mentioned some good stuff like the Omega 3s, HDL, (measured) amounts of saturated fats, and warned against wheats and other food items which I agree with.
Many people have success with this lifestyle and I'm going to do further research instead of dismissing it. Cheers Dr.

When you think about it, if a rabbit develops cardiovascular disease as a result of eating cholesterol when that is not a part of its wild diet, it could be just as conceivable that humans fed grasses and grains (not a part of the wild human diet) might produce cardiovascular disease as well.

To all of you who have commented on my presentation, thank you for watching. We are in a perilous world with corrupt leadership dogging us in every part of our lives. Honest politicians are as rare as the dodo and in all quarters it is hard to discern the difference between honesty and hypocrisy in the advice and information that emanates from our leaders and institutions. I carry the theme of the video over into my book "Chasing Antelopes: Why All This Caused All That."
Once we understand the reasons why we are flooded with bad advice, it becomes easier to fight back and change the course of our health and general well-being. Again, thanks to all of you for your time. And here's to a healthier life!

Thank you for this excellent presentation, Dr. Willcourt. You are *so* right, and it's people like yourself who are helping everybody else to realize how we've been brainwashed for so long. I followed the official dietary guidelines for decades and became a "hangry" food junkie/carboholic. Then I followed a vegetarian and later vegan lifestyle, combined with intermittent fasting, for a total of ten years, and I did manage to lose weight, but it felt like a constant uphill battle, and after a while I started having health issues due to a lack in certain nutrients. When I finally realized that my diet was getting me nowhere, I decided to give Keto a try, and I can honestly say that I've never felt better. It's great, and for me there is no turning back.

Could it be Laetrile? Vitamin B17? Frankly, if it's not natural and local you probably don't need it for a healthy life.

Read 'One Answer to Cancer' great book explaining B17 and other things to consider. When i had cancer I used apricot kernels paired with foods high in digestive enzymes along with a low calorie ketogenic diet, high in fermented foods and free from grain, anything processed or non-organic.

My body composition improved dramatically by counting calories and working out. But my diet was highest in carbs and lowest in fats. If I had to keep carbs that low, there is no way I can stick to the diet. Especially with it being apple season.

  • @joeschmo5699

I understand where this guy is at. Many of us fully embraced the group-think phenomenon that saturated fat, and by extension all fat, was bad for you, particularly in the 1980s. It seemed to make sense. We reduced the animal product from our diets and made great efforts to reduce fat from the diet as well. And we made great efforts to reduce salt intake. We did this for 2 decades. Those that were health conscious and also avoiding sugar (such as myself) probably managed to stay relatively healthy, but certainly not in optimum condition.
Now the truth is out. We lived this vigilant and austere existence to find out it was all about money and politics and it probably harmed our health anyway. And we've witnessed a human health disaster unfold in the process. You better believe there are a bunch of us that are hopping mad and want some accountability somewhere. I want the pharmaceutical industry reduced to rubble.

Please include information about foods high in oxalic acid. Oxalate crystals are at the root cause of arthritic pain and many other
conditions and need to be eliminated gradually from the body. Unfortunately many keto foods are high in oxalates.
