Thank you for this message. I come from a long line of Irish Catholic alcoholics. I am the youngest of 7; 6 of us are alcoholic and I am the only one who is sober in a 12 step program for almost 33 years. This generational curse is stopping here. I have lost 3 older brothers to alcoholism from 2018-2022. One brother is an angry “dry drunk” and one sister smokes pot frequently - I feel blessed to have found sobriety which strengthens my spirituality as a Catholic.
