Saliba edged the stats but Gabriel for me was the best player on the pitch that night, and our 3rd best player this season after Odegaard and Rice. As the aggressor, he has the harder job and has an unbelievable duel win rate and error rate.
THANK YOU someone thank fucking understands football. Way harder being the first point of contact , Saliba is amazing but he gets to sweep up so to speak , meaning he has more time to react .
In my view, Raya tops the list, followed by Saka, who despite not being at his best, has contributed 14 goals and 8 assists. Next is Saliba, then Havertz, with Odegaard/Rice closely behind. Trossard/Martinelli have been crucial for Arsenal, followed by White/Tomiyasu, and Gabriel Jesus, with the rest of the team rounding it out.
@afan7430 Have to disagree with one crucial aspect: Gabriel is not there to "round things out". He and Saliba are core to the reason why Arsenal are in contention to win the league. Add Raya and the excellent fullbacks (Benny Blanco, Kiwior, Tommy, Zinny), with the defensive midfield of some sort of Rice, Jorginho, Partney combo, and Arsenal are pretty close to impenetrable. In attack, Arsenal are better than anyone else (more goals), and these are spread around with no obvious focal point.
