I respect you so much more Script for having EVS on - not many dare these days because they fear to get canceled just because they deal with him
The only ones who need to fear are clickbait grifters. SD and EVS can subsist on their talents
I guess Eric cracked the code of making money without talent ~ shocker ~ EVS wouldn’t care about any of this if EJ wasn’t making big bucks. To EVS’s defensive versatility, he bees good at bidness & storytelling too.
Btw, EVS could’ve attacked Rippa for his bastardization of Libertarianism but, neh he’s an expert on his own hypocrisy
@@patrickt2534 Ethans made 3 millions more than Ejewlie, cope an seethe kid!

I like Ethan he seems like a straight up guy.
Best interview on this channel since I’ve started watching. Great job Script. EVS is a good interviewee as well. His humility is very evident beyond his bluster. Eric July is the exact opposite. His hubris is very evident beyond his fabricated modesty. Eric thinks he’s smarter than average which is laughable.
Great interview Doc. Props for having Ethan on
Guys this was perhaps the best yet interview with Ethan, and I have listened to a LOT of them. THIS is what its all about!
When Ethan goes into his process, you start to see why his books are late, why Rekt ballooned in page count, and, most of all, why his books are so fantastic. Great interview. Writing is rewriting. Can't imagine throwing out a page of drawing. It's so easy to toss away a page of writing.
Great interview, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great insight into Ethan's process.
You just got a sub for bringing on the Pie-Man.
This is one of the best interviews with Ethan I have seen. Extremely well done, Doc. You let Ethan relax, and you really got down to his process and personality.
Thank you for interviewing Ethan! Hope you have a nice week. God bless you and yours.
Superb interview Script Doctor. Well done. Ethan clearly cares about the process.
We love EVS, I'm looking forward to listening.
All hail the great EVS! Really good interview Script, well done!

Fun stream! Thanks for having our glorious human sunbeam on. \ [T] /
Really engaging interview! You can definitely sense Ethan's genuine passion for his creations, as if they were real people.
Not an interview I was expecting to see. Very good insights.
Not the crossover we deserved, but the one we needed. Or something like that, it's been a while since I watched it.
On of the best and most insightful interviews I've seen of EVS. Awesome interview, script doctor!
EVS had some of the funniest comments on Disney Star Wars. Glad see this video.
Sean Krummel is always telling me about Cyberfrog and now you have this interview, I really need to check this comic out
Excellent interview Script Dr. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
GREAT SHOW! WELL DONE! @Script Doctor Looking Forward to more 🙂
Great interview Script. I love EVS. Ethan is an instable genius and brilliant artist.
Not only is Ethan a very talented artist but he also has some fantastic and original ideas.
Excellent interview.
One of the best I've seen in recent years.
I've always liked EVS the culture warrior. I'm not much of a comic book fan but I purchased Cyberfrog Bloodhoney and Reignbow The Brute to support the cause. I found this conversation with EVS the artist fascinating and it's motivated me to finally read my copy of Bloodhoney.
Excellent.
Hello Paul!
evs the goat
This was interesting to hear this side of EVS. It’s also interesting to see how he reached the same conclusions we’re taught in formal writing courses (#1 most important detail to give readers about a character is their motivation) but presumably gleaned these insights from on-the-job training & drawing other writers scripts. When a show, film or book drags, it’s usually because a characters motivations are unclear or don’t fit what’s being shown
I often wonder whether people like Ethan would do with a formal training, rather than learning on the job. Would he have benefited? Or would it have been a problem? I suppose it was circumstances: he was from a poor family and needed that money to help support them.
There really is no formal training for writing. There are degrees you can get, sure, but everyone I know who's done that has said it messed them up. The best training for writing is just to write. Study sure but you have to write a lot.
@@2012sonoraYeah I've heard Brandon Sanderson mention that most novelists don't really get their writing to published level until they've written like 7-10 manuscripts. The point being just start writing and writing and writing.

Good stuff man
Peter Simeti and Narwhal were talking about the pros and cons of the writing process last night. Terrific synchronicity
Thank you for this illuminating interview!
My takeway is to leave the wildcards for baseball and Uno. 😉
Super interesting interview, thanks a lot!
This is the most insightful interview with EVS I've seen. Thank you.🤙
I love these nice chats. Thanks for this.🎉
Fantastic interview! Hail comicsgate
Great interview! I never paid attention to Green Lantern until Blackest Night. I became a big fan and started buying a bunch of older GL comics after that. Even got trades of the original Silver Age stuff.
Conversely, I was a huge X-Men fan but I hated Morrison's run. Learning his hippy-dippy froufrou writing process, I can see why now.
Human sunbeam time!
Fantastic Interview Script! Ive always loved your level headed analysis of stories and movies. I do believe you have THE Greatest EVS Interview to have ever been conducted!
Thank you! It was such a fun discussion and I'm working on getting other writers across novels, comics, and movies on in the future.
When EVS describes CF and Salamandroids relationship, it reminds me of George & Lennie from John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men.
Great interview Script!
This just started playing after another video. I kept it on and that was a good decision. This has been enjoyable to listen to so far just listening to creative evs rather than internet drama evs
There are things that we can't infer from the dialogue or the art, or we misinterpret it. When the interviewer asks good questions, we get more insight on the behind the scenes of the characters, their motivations and the creator's reasoning. Only wish you weren't an Avatar on screen. Not a major deal, though. This was a really good interview. 👍🏻
The venture bros did a good spoof of Reed Richards
I really don't like EVS as a person at all, but it's nice to heard this discussion from an indie creator perspective
really great interview
55:00 I've read through Blood Honey, Death Sting, and Rekt Planet, and I don't recall Skorpeon's deal with the Vyzzpyzz. Did I just forget, or is this a spoiler for Red Extermination?
A bit of his deal is teased/set-up in Rekt Planet. Death's Sting features more of Skorpeone.
@@ScriptDoctor yeah, I'm trying to remember if Death's Sting mentioned his deal with the Vyzzpzz. I might have to read it again...
He's half retired. RUclips is his full time job. Drawing and writing is a side gig.
Nice interview & nice ta see EVS talking comics instead of petty squabbles w/ soul sucking RUclipsrs who thrive on negative takes on everything. Hope to see more of this attitude. Enough of this nonsense.
EvS appears immediately and stays till the end 🤷
Pluffy showed up ?
Seems like this interview took place a while ago, wonder why it wasn't released until now, did it take that long to edit?
These interviews are released on my Patreon first, then after a few weeks is shared on RUclips.
That makes sense, thanks for the reply. Great interview so far!@@ScriptDoctor
Great interview! ❤🐸
Like Ethan or not he's doing God's will and Eric July is doing the bidding of the devil. I think I'll stick with sky daddy thx
Great interview! Next time Id consider asking why All Caps Comics books like "Snowman: A Cold Day in Hell" are still late, even though it's been completed for 6 months? And how does that fact impact the indie/crowdfunding scene, if at all?
I vaguely recall EVS said Covid forced the printer they were with out of business, so they had to find a new one which was tricky because Snowman didn't make enough profit to give them the margins to just pick any printer, so it took them a while to find a suitable one.
@@themetalpig7613 thanks for the answer! I wonder if 6 months is long enough to do something like that... I remember seeing a tweet from Martin saying it was about to be printed, back in Sept 2023.
Hope for more clarity, eventually!
Thanks again for the info
@@AlfredOrteez oh, Ethan said about a week ago they'd found a new printer and it's been sent off, so it's just a matter of waiting for the printer now.
@@themetalpig7613 excellent! I'm glad progress is being made. Appreciate your answer
I’ll defend women for Star Wars, feminism destroyed Star Wars, even women h8 it
It never was for women to begin with it was always marketed towards young men from the very beginning.
@@The8BitChampion 100%,
Script Doctor needs to change his avatar. It looks like Destiny.
When Ethan goes into his process I become so sleepy I can barely keep my eyes open. Asking Ethan about his creative process should of been just one question during this interview not the same question asked over and over again during the entire hour and 30 mins. Honestly not bothering to ask just at least one hard question during the entirety of this 1 hour and 30 mins is disgusting. Now we know why he got an entire hour in 30 mins 🤣😂.
A hard question about what?
did you miss the video title?
The interview is titled: The Process. It's about EVS' creative process. It constantly amazes me that people as dense as you exist.
@@JamesDomenicoGrabban81If you could read you would understand that obviously I couldn't care less about his "PROCESS". It amazes me how people like you do nothing else but brainlessly simp for people that could care less for you or anyone else other than themselves.
@@JamesDomenicoGrabban81Why would I care about the title? His process is boring and he should of been asked tougher questions get that through your dense thick skull.
19:56 Dude's interpretation of "the Jesus story" is cringe.
