Thank god IKEA listened and with Gen 2 both the Eneby 20 and 30 can be paired in stereo now, because even though I am licenced in weapons spec soldering (highest level), I am too old for this extra work.
The new Eneby Gen 2 allows for stereo pairing over Bluetooth. No need to go through all of this bonkers hacking to do so! Thanks IKEA for listening to us!
@@natesinnott6596 go on ikea.com. You’ll see they just updated their Eneby line. They even say in their product description that you can pair two in stereo.
Great video, this is the kind of content that makes Y.T worthwhile in my opinion. So many thanks for taking the effort of making this video and sharing Your knowledge. And if You can excuse a "total noob" for asking what might be a stupid question, could it possibly be the case that IKEA chose to only implement the "most basic bluetooth mode/coded". Simply due to "being affraid" of "compatibility issues" as it is usually the case that "the older standards have the widest support", and sometimes even work as "fallback"... Just a (uninformed) thought. Again thanks for the great video. Best regards.
Thanks, always nice to see people enjoying my content! Not quite sure, probably the designers did not know any better and just rushed this design without trying to understand the parts they're using. Also, the BT module will "ask" for supported codecs. So the module could just fall back apt-X -> ACC -> SBC. Might be some licence issue with apt-X, but that is as far as I know it's not licensed?
darilee mentioned you had a guide to add your own audio prompts to these chips, i think he mentioned you wanted to add fart noises :) I would like to see it as i want to add the sound of a can being opened for a project.
Hi Erik, I am integrating an Arylic up2stream mini in the eneby 30. I managed to get 5 volt from the power supply (Buck converter dc-dc). Also I connected the up2stream to R IN, AGND and L IN on the eneby print CN201. The only problem is, that I have to plug the minijack at the back of eneby 30 to get sound. I use a dummy minijack (no input) so somehow it shortcuts something and signals AUX INPUT DET that it shall use that source. I have no knowledge at all about electronics, pure luck until now. My question is, do you, or any other reading this post, know if I can shortcut something between the tree remaining pins on the board? They are labeled +5VDD, DGND and AUX INPUT DET. ENEBY 30 up2stream mini +5VDD ? DGND ? AUX INPUT DET ? R IN
Hi,does someone knows: I have Eneby 20 (gen.2) and if I buy Vappeby 20 (gen.3) can I pair them in stereo. Because they look identically, just a spotify connect differenceThank you for the answer
Very nice video! Have you already achieved to add your own audio/voice prompts and how did you do it? So far I can only change between the already existing audio tones...
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. A couple questions: 1) Aux input won't be shared with the second speaker, correct? 2) You mention that the chip supports ACC, does doing this process enable ACC, or is it still using CBS?
Hi, thanks! 1) correct, the Aux is NOT routed through the CSR chip, if it was then it would be shared. 2) this prosess enables ACC as well as aptX. The module will chose whatever codec the transmitter is compatible with (most cases aptX). If you only want ACC, then only enable CBS and AAC, then ACC will always be chosen if the device support it.
Hi Nice tutorial. I'm currently working on a headphone project and I would like to use audio prompts to tell the current battery level. You mentioned audio prompts in the video. Did you plan on doing a tutorial about this topic? If not could you please tell me what documents and applications you use so I can learn it myself. Thanks
Hi Erik, It is a great video, I managed to connect to my Eneby bluetooth chip with the CSR programmer that you suggested and PS tools. The only problem is that I cloud not find either the full configuration file (64215_blue_board_org_TWS.psr) that I need to upload to the chip. Could you please help with this? I would be very grateful. Thank you in advice!
Great video - especially together with the videos from darieee gives at least a good idea of what to look into and which possibilities one might have with it. One thing that really annoys me with the Eneby speaker is that when AUX cable is inserted, Bluetooth turns off. Can that be disabled so that it's possible to switch between those two sources without taking out the cable? Do you know?
just gonna bump this again. do you have the PSR files somewhere still? i'm really interested in how you configured the PStool values + peer device parameters in ADK config tool. it seems i am missing something really crucial. i can't get it to work at all, neither with device id matching nor with QTIL uuid matching. i've been searching my ass off trying to figure out how to configure TWS. i have some new csr8675's here (same process) and i've seen the dropbox link in your description, i've seen the diyaudio post with people claiming it works, i've looked at literally all the documentation, started debugging the sink code in xIDE and it simply does not work at all. there's some crucial information missing everywhere but somehow people are figuring this out but then not providing context. i don't get it.
Hi Erik, I'm wondering if you know how i can make one QCC3008 transmit a stereo signal to its TWS -slave and play a stereo signal on its own output too. Also, those warnings about not being able to change audio routing after the initial TWS pairing has been done, how do i reset the pairing information?
Hi Erik, I have some QCC3008 modules. Do you know how to change the output of these modules to mono? I have a programmer and allready changed some parameters.
Hi, i know it's an old video, but I wanted to know if it's possible to enable the option to set volume to absolute (when your phone's volume is synced to the speaker's one). Another thing i wanted to change is that the speaker reports itsef as a headphone, instead of a speaker.
You mentioned you have an earlier model of the Eneby, so it'll turn off if the volume is low. Does this mean that this problem has been solved with newly manufactured models?
Not resolved as far as I know. This is only a problem with the AUX because it has a threshold, really stupid if you ask me. Doubt they have done anything with it...

You said something about adding your own audio prompts, can we get a video for that? That would be so awesome🤩
I would like to see it too !!
Ikea please hire this person!
Nice to see Tom Brady reviewing speakers now. Excellent work.
Nice to see a chart on the wall

Hi. Have you tried to convert Eneby 30 to battery operated? Thank you for this video!
