4:30 having it set to low chunks and then staggering terrain generation to slowly obscure the pyramid as you move forwards was actually so sick, that's genuinely such a smart use of game design to pull off a cool effect
something interesting to me is how there is some very severe incongruity with what version ben2fr is playing, there's no hunger bar, and the flat-top furnaces harken back to earlier builds, but there are other features that would not be in a pre-hunger build, such as the book & quill, sprinting in general, and the recipe book tooltips that pop up when ben2fr breaks the oxeye daisy (another incongruity) and gets a popup for the grey dye recipe -- i think this correlates to his feelings of falling behind in the first episode, 7. he's locked with older textures and features while the rest of the world around him is modern, and up to date to the present. another possible representation of that falling behind is the seemingly CRT television coloring, going as far to have a grey-line on the left hand side of the screen, and in the upper left what appear to be scan lines
also, his hp still seems to tick up as if he had a full hunger bar. this is kind of weird since it means there's no point to collecting food like he does
I also noticed that when he swings his sword at the chickens it has the slashing effect even though he is playing on what appears to be a pre-pvp update version
Something that Zeemyth’s video doesn’t mention is the bedrock that can be seen on the surface, right below the layers of stone at 2:48. Assuming that there’s a larger mystery here, I wonder what the significance of that is, if any?
I'm commenting this while watching Zeemyth's video. So far, it feels like it's a sort of nightmare, combining all the versions of Minecraft this dude played into an amalgamation. Old combat, but with sweeping attacks. Book and quills in alpha. No hunger, and of course. The brick pyramid.
Something @mothdotzip pointed out theres bedrock at 2:48 i think this might be because bens near y0 because that would explain the weird fog that doesnt go away no matter the distance slider
