IT WORKED!!! I had my directv box powered off, & my TV powered off. It only took 34 tries and it turned on! Written, verbal, & visual instructions were perfect & easy to understand! I especially liked that you said to remove the batteries between each try. I tried watching other RUclips videos on this, but I could not get them to work for me. You're the BEST!!! THANK YOU!!!

Yeah...this worked like a champ! Why Directv makes you go though a list of codes that don't work is stupid and a waste of time! None of the ones that had listed for my tv worked, but this did. Thanks.
Thanks to you I fixed my mother in law her familyTV. She lives alone and don't even have the remote of this old TV Toshiba flat tube tv. Now she can see TV on the family. Not even the DirecTV installer could fix it because without the TV remote couldn't change the input to a video or hdmi option, which the TV didn't detect when connected the dish box. I used the DirecTV remote to change the input on the TV and done.
Why haven't I done this sooner! Super helpful, even worked on my 11 year old hitachi. Thanks for the encouragement too, because I was a little disappointed when it didn't work the first time, but after getting the sequence down it worked like a charm. Huge thank you!

Yep, dude is legit... Had a broken ass remote for almost a year with a nee remote collecting dust because I didn't want to have to have Direct TV come out and or sit on the phone for hours with no help... Did this in less then 5 minutes, frfr!! Thanks brother 🙏🏽
Thanks. Solved at 0:07. This worked so well that the directional buttons on my remote controls my Firestick through my TV. Incredible and a nice pleasant surprise. Pro tip; if certain TV options are missing from the code you used, then ‘skip’ that code and keep pressing channel down until the TV turns on or off again. (Either way works)

First of all thanks for a great simplified video. It worked for me and was easy to understand. However, I have a Vizio TV and apparently there are many codes that partially work for this brand. On the fifth "successful" attempt, a code was found that worked for all functions. (ie power off didn't work for one, mute for another etc). But thanks so much again. The hint about removing the batteries was a big help as well.
Right to the point! Love no nonsense videos like this. I would have added if people have problems and diagnostics but that would be a much longer video. In my case it worked
If it doesn't work, try it with the tv already ON. Following the instructions, the remote will turn the TV off, then you press select, then press PWR and your tv should turn on and be programmed with the Remote.
Nice job it work for my jvc 55 Roku tv. Nothing else worked for me. The only thing different was I left tv power on when I tried. then I noticed my volume working so I hit select and now I’m good. Thanks man.
2024 and just worked perfect for me! There isn’t a slide anymore so just skip that step. Also, it turns the TV on and off but doesn’t work for the audio and mute unfortunately.
So my remote works for the dircet tv dvr, but my direct tv remote will not turn on/off or do volume. What do I need to do to fix it, so that it can do my basic tv funcations?
The select button is that big bright yellow in the center of the remote and you cannot see it? Then you said that the light would blink twice, it blinked only once.

Works better if the TV is on before you program the remote to the TV so when the TV goes off then press select then power and it'll turn your TV back on and everything should work
It really works. Mine worked better having the TV on instead of habit off. It is and old Samsung so it takes longer to turn on, but it immediately turns off.

If it doesn't work, try it with the tv already ON. Following the instructions, the remote will turn the TV off, then you press select, then press PWR and your tv should turn on and be programmed with the Remote.

Actually it works now. Instead of pushing the on and off button push the pwr button and that’s how it works
