I need to watch this movie again. I remember thinking it was a cool modern reimagining of the original Jumanji! If you haven't seen the original Jumanji movie btw, go check it out bc it's also cool. This movie completely turns the original idea on it's head though, which is good bc it's not boringly similar, but it still keeps the central concept alive.
these guys deserve a lot of credit, think about this, not only did they in this movie have to play some wild teenagers with adult bodies -Spencer is a complete gamer nerd stuck in the body of the rock -Kevin hart has to play a tall aethletic jock type stuck in the body of himself, these two combine mean the jock is in the nerd body and the nerd is in the jock body. -And Jack black has to play a, Teenage, Girl, Obsessed with selfies looks and privilege. Then next movie you have -The rock playing danny devito -Kevin playing an old man who's not long for this world but long in his speeches -And Jack black Playing Kevin hart Playing a teenager.
THIS is how you do a sequel. I read something about the directors, they said they were not making a remake and it wasn't _really_ a sequel because Alan Parash's story is already finished. They said that this movie was more of a spiritual successor than a sequel. I love how nervous they were to screw it up but, it was really well done. The new ones were, well I hesitate to say they're *as* good as the first one but...if they weren't there they were close. I think when its close its up to the individual.
Anthony(One of the characters outside the game)definitely got the short end of the stick with cake being one of his weaknesses. Making him explode is such bullshit.
