I'm here because I do Walmart Spark deliveries, and a sweet little old lady gave me what I thought was a half a roll of quarters as a tip, and when I got home I realized it was a full $25 dollar roll of these gold dollars. 9 of them are these type of coins, and the rest are different presidents. Ok, the cheerios dollar has rather than lineal line tail feathers , the cheerios has an additional set of feather lines going in an opposing directions . Like a cross hatch lines going in an additional directions.
Your video about Sacagawea Golden Dollars is both very informative and helpful. Also well-made and we'll-narrated. Thanks ! ~Crawford Smith in Indiana.
FYI, during the first minting of the 2000 Sacagawea dollar, some coins were minted on a mix of copper-nickel rather than the intended bronze. Due to this transitional error, these golden coins did not up being golden.
I work at a goodwill. I guy came in today and used 12 "regular" gold sacagawea dollars to pay. My jaw hit the floor. We are allowed to take them, but have to pay the face value. I only had a dollar in cash so I could only take a dollar. Can't tell if its the cheerios variant for certain, but I doubt it. I also have 10 wheat pennies and a Buffalo nickel.
I found one of these at work on the floor and thought it was just a quarter. The picture of the woman and her child had caught my attention as I picked it up, but I did not do much thinking before slipping it into my pocket. So I have a Liberty 2000-P coin that I got back in change one time. It's not in brand new condition, but it still looks very nice. I've seen some being listed at high prices, and I was wondering how much I could sell it for. I was also wondering if it could be a fake, although who would make a fake special coin just to pay for something with?
Just some advice if you keep touching those Sacagawea dollars with your bear hands the acid from your skin will cause them to turn colors which will ruin any chance of getting one that will grade very well . This is why several people dont like them , that and they have no precious metal in them .

Hi! I have a coin collection I forgot about till cleaning my house. I’ll keep them in storage, but have two questions: 1) What is the best way to store them? (Safe deposit box is where they’ll need to stay, but I want to keep them individually stored, i.e: I ordered cardboard slips with a slim plastic cover for coin storage from Amazon, but want to be see what you recommend is best….and when recommending, please also send the link where I can buy them). 2) How can I get the coins appraised without sending them off or having someone take them to appraise them? Want to ensure I see the process so no coins disappear. I have 300+ coins which are a mix as follows: -Wheat pennies from 1900-1950’s (most from 1940-1950) -Regular pennies post 1950’s (including a different looking 1963 penny that’s incredibly shiny, almost mirror-like with no mint mark) -Susan B. Anthony dollars -2000 Sacagawea dollar with P mint mark (looks like the cheerios one in your video when comparing with the eagle tail feather details) -Silver dollars and half dollars -Quarters from 1964 and earlier (some are tarnished)

You are describing a native American coin. The native American series replaced the sacagewea Dollar back in 2009. The obverse is mostly the same, but the reverse changes each year. The mint does not release these coins directly into circulation, but sells them directly to coin collectors. The coin with Jim Thorpe on the back was minted in 2018, and in uncirculated condition (near perfect) is worth $5-8.

The sacagewea coin was replaced by the native American coin series in 2009. The face looks mostly the same, but the reverse has a new design each year. Your coin is one of those. The mint doesn't release those coins for general circulation, but they can be bought directly from the mint. Most of those are worth $3-8, as long as it still looks uncirculated. Otherwise, it's only worth face value ($1). A good find though!
There really is no direct/simple answer to this question. You can either try your luck at a local coin shop, or attempt to sell it via eBay. That's about it.
