57:15 I'm pretty sure this pokemon is based on the paraceratherium which were related to rhinos actually. They were found across Asia so I'm pretty happy they thought of that neat animal to include ! And I'm pretty sure that pokemon is *huge*, you'd probably be able to ride them if they were in one of the games - since paraceratheriums were among the largest mammals that ever existed!
It's so cool to see you make one of these vids on a region a lot of us have watched come to be! Ron seems like a really genuine and inspired person! It's cool to see his completed project like this
what is this, a crossover episode? seriously, i was so excited when this came out. i've been following asone since truegreen7 posted the first video and it was great to see your reactions. i've had my team planned out for a while now: Azrael the Oxcinerate, Stick-Buff the Phasmasc, Faith the Asonian Camerupt, Pickles the Felance, Glacier the Cryovibos, and Kronk the Carbonk.
Grass/Rock, Fire/Electric or Fire/Fairy, Water/Psychic. Not bad, I would go with either the Grass or Fire starter (Nothing against the water starter which looks cool). But because I want the Asone Camerupt I don't want to have 2 water types on my team which would overlap
I feel like you've probably been harassed about this a ton, but please do Lockstin's Kaskade region sometime He's got a really different way of designing Pokemon and I absolutely adore them
Speaking of middle eastern stuff, pakistan has many interesting folklore creatures that could be pokemon. My personal favourite is the Halmasti: it's a horse sized wolf creatures that breaths fire and is considered a bad omen. Which could make for a great regional varient of absol or a new pokemon all its own.
The work behind this has been super cool, but tbh the middle east being just one video is a bit... how do I say this, brief? A conglomerate of countries clocking in populations nearing 500 million depending on how many countries are included (the depiction here with Asone seems to include enough to hit that mark), and the birthplace of civilization... when we got entire regions made out of Hokkaido and Hawaii? This is just a pokemon fan project, but I still think these type of discussions are important
Middle Eastern region. Proceeds to give us African animals, a winter weasel, Loris, which are Indian/Southeast Asian. and yaks.... which are from Himalayas/Tibet/Mongolia/etc? **cries in Arabic**
Innit I was thinking this. I hate it when people from western countries (which I also am too) make fakemon regions based on HUGE areas. The Middle East is massive and very diverse. There’s SO MUCH you could do for each country but he’s decided to make a region based on all of it and then proceeds to place anything ‘exotic’ into it. Smh I know a region doesn’t have to have solely Pokémon inspired from that place (eg pancham in kalos) but my god at least make a better effort haha
@@PragMagik I actually do consulting work for history/archeology channels on videos on Mesoamerican (aztec, maya, etc) stuff. I quite like the Axolotl and Sun Stone lines they have: They did a good job capturing the style of monumental aztec sculptures with the former (may sound like a simple thing to do, but it's a pretty specific aeshetic and most people don't bother to try to capture Mesoamerican art motifs well) and it being water/fire is a nice (albiet accidental, they didn't know this) allusion to how water and fire being paired together in Aztec art is a metaphor for warfare. For the latter, the design is nice, but it being ground rather then rock is (again, albiet accidentally) fitting since they based the design on the "ollin" glyph in the middle of the sun stone, and the Ollin glyph primarily is associated with shaking movements, like in earthquakes (which is why it's on the actual Aztec Sun Stone monument: The monument has, among other things, glyphs representing eachhow the world ended in each age in the Aztec creation myth, and the current age is supposed to end in a giant earthquake) As I said, though, some of those references in the designs are accidental: I haven't seen anybody do a Mexico/Mesoamerican Fan region that REALLY has done a ton of research into Prehispanic and Mesoamerican history. I've helped with a notable fangame, but I only joined after their pokedex was finalized so I there was only so much I could do. I'd REALLY love to partner with artists to do a region myself and help, but so far I haven't been able to make that happen.
Asone is one of my absolute favorite Fakemon regions, precisely because it's based on a place that I've never seen anyone (besides myself) make a Fakemon region out of!
I know that this is a little late, but the "phasma" comes the term phasmatodea, the genetic grouping of stick insects (including the descendants, the leaf insects)
And thus for this region. My starters would be Bellumar for my starter. Because I always go water starter no matter what, then it's Vivites, Dunkraft, Cryovivos, Menhis, and Bradyate.
I am curious, what if Pokémon was set in South Korea, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Bahamas, Jamaica, Europe, Antarctica, South America, Russia, China, Germany, Italy or India?
In case anyone was wondering, we likely don't have a dolphin pokemon yet is due to Japan's controversial history regarding their treatment of dolphins & the ethics to do with it
I have seen every single video for the sun region and this is me reacting to your reaction and I'm staying spoiler free from your reaction since I'm typing this at the beginning of the video
1:05 since they were a trio of "invader pokemon" I think the third one was based on greeks/Alexander the great While I've since before that type of headdress for the second one but I can't remember exactly from which civilization, either Persian or ottomans maybe ? I like a lot their concepts for the legendaries/mythical pokemons here
Funny for you to use a French term France was a colonial power in the Middle East Also The grass Starter based off of A species from the past The Syrian elephant That was the type of elephant Used by Hannibal His lead elephant was called the Syrian
This definitely made my weekend. You’re very good at reviewing Fakemon.
I watched all of you fakemon videos and I love em' 💜💖💖💖💖💖
Keep up the good work I love ur region
GOOD 4 U!

For the longest time it was until the discovery of Paleoloxodon Namadicus(Ironically Paleoloxodon also has the smallest species of Elephant)

Imagine if gen 9 was officially announced a day later- oh. wait.
Hopefully gen 10 then?
Lets gooooo! I was so hyped for this! Like always amazing video Brandon, keep up the good work
The whole idea is that strutridge sticks it’s head in the ground, an urban legend about ostriches so when it does that it looks invisible
Magik: I don't really know what the theme is...
Also Magik: *Just guessing it literally seconds after*
What can I say? I have a special talent 😂
Love how the gen 9 starters were just shown a day after this video was made lol
Yeah pretty funny
Lol

pakistan is NOT a middle eastern country, despite all the wishes of its native south asian population. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My team (in dex order)
Bellumar (Water/Psychic)
Captorrent (Water/Flying)
Porcimpale (Poison/Steel)
Vivitess (Grass/Fairy)
Thundoryx (Electric)
Barbayena (Dark/Ground)
Alluveon is a DEFINITE must-have! I just wish it could be paired with the Leweka Region's Mummeon. 🤞🤩
I legit clicked as fast as I could the minute I saw Asone Region in the title.

Now Lockstin’s Kaskade region
Strutridge and its evolution are based on ostriches, a flightless bird, so you could say they are 'grounded'.

I like to think that Precephant is a giant pokemon with huge mountains on its back kinda like what detective Pikachu did with Torterra
It is. It also raises mountains with it's trunk, so fun fact.
Next up the kaskade region by lockstin&gnoggin
The water fossil is based off of a whale ancestor that scientists believed it was a dinosaur so that is why it has the dark type

27:59 those volcanoes are now inactive and there’s water inside them that’s called a caldera

The “phasma” in phasmask is a reference to Phasmatidae, the family of insects that stick bugs are in!
The wait is over!
Finally he did it.
Eleafant is mah boi! It's evolution looks like a perfect for long walks and trips so i am picking it. And he looks like someone that loves the sun.

You should do lockstins region now the kascade region
These artists make amazing designs, game freaks give these artist a chance to work with you when you create new Pokemon
I wasn’t expecting you to review the Asone region but it is one of my favourite Fakémon regions.
I love one of my favorite RUclipsr reviewing another one of my favorites!

31:51 it is supposed to be plants using salt to prevent freezing.
Well today they REVEALED the gen 9 rn
Truegreen7 finally finished his region? Neat.
Peacocks females don’t have that special tail and are dull in color so I’m interested in the female design now for unfezant form
Slaking looks like a super Saiyan
Both of my favorite Chanel’s combined
Funny how literally a day later gen nine is announced
As someone who lives in the Middle East,I may be able to see references to the area.

I'm building a team around clonine, it's based on the navajo trickster the coyote
Well, this didn't age too well!
Gen 9 is Spain/Portugal !
Can you pls update the region review playlist? I love the series good job
I just realized that Rom predicted a Bug/Dark Grasshoper/Locus line with Grassassin before Nymble and Lokix
And thus for this region. My starters would be Bellumar for my starter. Because I always go water starter no matter what, then it's Vivites, Dunkraft, Cryovivos, Menhis, and Bradyate.
The route 1 bugs are superhero and supervillain
22:38 I love this real life bird on which that pokemon is based ! oh I hope there'll be a pokemon based on a shoebill in this !
FUN FACT: “je ne sais quoi”means “I don’t know what”
I feel like a real truegreen7 fan because i knew every single one
You and true green 7 are my favourite youTubers and give me inspiration for my region

Misty: Dolflow is absolutely, totally adorable!!!
Anyone else know that those are Truegreen7’s Pokémon🤷🏽♂️
I mean… based on the fact I state it… like a few times, and he is credited in the description… I am pretty sure they do.
In case anyone was wondering, we likely don't have a dolphin pokemon yet is due to Japan's controversial history regarding their treatment of dolphins & the ethics to do with it
THIS IS THE COLLAB EVERYBODY ASKED FOR
I have seen every single video for the sun region and this is me reacting to your reaction and I'm staying spoiler free from your reaction since I'm typing this at the beginning of the video
Truegreen7 is a amazing fakemon artist, my asone pokemon team is, Precephant, Crocosmic, thundoryx, Baneko, Veeralurk, clownine
1:05 since they were a trio of "invader pokemon" I think the third one was based on greeks/Alexander the great
While I've since before that type of headdress for the second one but I can't remember exactly from which civilization, either Persian or ottomans maybe ?
I like a lot their concepts for the legendaries/mythical pokemons here
I love the name Carbonk. I would use one definitely.
Eleafant. Perfect naming
TrueGreen and PragMagik should collab!
The thawer line is based on buds in salt rocks

D.O.A. 😂😂
Phasmasc comes from the Stick Bug's scientific name. (Phasmatodea)
I love how you say you don’t like comparing fakemon to real Pokémon but that’s what you do
Can you do Pokémon Cardinal as well
I have ideas... 👀
*One day later after upload*
Gen 9 gets revealed ... and it appears to be based off Spain.
My Asonian Team:
Precephant
Jerbolt
Invulover
Awflea
Braediate
Putridome
Alexander is a fighting berry type
I'd choose the grass starter and have all the fossils but if I could only choose one of the fossils I'd have to choose the basilosaurus one
Have saw all videos of Azone region
Grass stater : elephant
Fire starter : Cow / ox
Water Starter : dolphin
All three animals are important in India
