  • This has been a real challenge to paint the name of the ship Thorn. The easy way to paint it is to use dry transfer which can be purchased from Image Transfers at a cost of between $195-$330 for an 8.5” x 11” sheet. I did not pursue it because of the cost but for a museum quality model this might be the only option. I will continue to look for less expensive options.
The images at the end were taken by Tim Wright at our many Angostura Tobago Race week. Tim is an incredible photographer who has taken some of the most iconic sailing pictures over the years. His images are available for purchase on his web site. Https://photoaction.com
Peter shim a life long friend is one of the most talented artist in our country. Not only is he a fantastic guitarist and drummer but he is a fantastic painter.
The song “ the gift of breath” was composed, written and played by him. He very kindly allowed me the use of the song to help relieve the boredom of some of the repeat scenes in the video.
This video follows a 5 book series written by Greg Herbert and David Antscherl “The fully framed model, HMN Swan Class, 1767-1780”. It is available from Seawatch books on line seawatchbooks.com
